Ive met many ppl who are always upbeat by default, it would make sense that others would feel downbeat by default too. The trouble is we pathologize the latter but not the first thereby rendering depressives as though they are wrong, missing something or deluded. This video illustrates that being simple certainly assists in happiness: 'What makes you happy? Oh, being with my mates, sitting on a sofa with my dog'. You'll find that many depressives are actually complex ppl with depth and this is likely why depressives have darwinianly persisted - Depth and discernment. If our species was strictly optimistic we couldnt have survived. Depressive sobriety is a lens of clarity where so no simple normie bullcrap pass time like going for a meal will obscure.
