Some say it is misogynistic, while others say it is culturally inappropriate. But to Kim Young-rong, a pioneering drag entertainer at the center of a much-criticized scene, drag is just a way of expressing himself ― the other side of himself.
In Korea, where queerness is still largely taboo, drag has been mostly perceived with a negative view ― if not, unfamiliar. But Kim, who goes by the drag name Nana, strives to change that narrative of the scene so more people can enjoy and accept it as entertainment.
“If people can just look at it from a slightly different angle, they'll see this is just a matter of perspective. But that's the hardest part,” Kim told The Korea Times.

Why not a Drag Race Korea? I would love it, and it would only be like the marvelous Drag Race Thailand in the way that people show respect for each other & hoobaes. They are different countries & have different cultures, after all. It would be wonderful to see more hanbok inspired drag gowns. Kimchee could be the host!
I really enjoy Nana's performances (only those on Social Media :( I haven't seen her in person but I'm sure that would be beyond awesome) and all the NANA TV clips on NEON MILK. It gives me a lot of joy to watch her, to laugh with her and to simply hit "pause" on normal and sometimes scary day to day life. Nana can be sassy and kind, funny and serious, compassionate and she's really dedicated to her work as a drag queen. Nana radiates pure joy of living. If you're having a bad day, that's where you should recharge. Plus, seeing someone doing something with so much love is simply stunning.

Please use "He/Him". Because transgender and drag queen are different, so basically he is a man dressing as a woman.

@browniez You're wrong. if his drag persona is "she", we call her "she". (I'm not talking about him out of drag). If a transman (he) do drag to portray a woman, we say "She/her" when he's "in character". There is nothing wrong with that.
