Is CRKT INSANE for this Knife…Or Am I??? Unboxing the CRKT Pursue
This is my unboxing of the Limited Michael Walker-designed CRKT Pursue. It has Dark Matter carbon fiber with gold foil/flecks, mother of pearl pivot on the front side, titanium pivot on the back, titanium milled clip designed with one of Michael Walker's mechanisms, and a liner lock (in honor of Michael Walker. I have to say that I was impressed with the packaging compared to some of CRKT's other models.

CF knives have a certain sound and feel I like
Yeah i was excited to hear about these collabs! That's gotta be the nicest CRKT I've ever seen. Great to see see some uploads from you, thanks for sharing! (I'm surprised you purchased this)

This is WAY nicer than any other CRKT I've had. I was surprised I bought it too, but I really like it. It's not one I'd carry every day but I love the feel of this in hand and I can't stop messing with it. I just wish some of the edges such as on the CF and the thumbstuds were finished a little better.
A flipper tab would interfere with the lines of the knife but would make it way easier to open. The giant pivot is cool and the pocket clip looks high tech.
I got one of these a couple of weeks ago and I really like it. I can't seem to put it down yet. The balance and feel of it is great. I took a tiny bit of material off of the left scale for better liner lock spring release access just to make it perfect for me and you can't even tell by looking at it. It flicks out so smoothly from either hand with any finger. And the gold color in the handle seems to have gotten a little bit more vivid with time.

Great tip on the lock access! I still have mine and still like it a lot. I find myself carrying it on the weekends. I thought I would get it and sell it after a review but I have kept it so I’m still delinquent on the review 😂.
AG Russell's website has this listed as a collaboration with Lionsteel. The clip is also very similar to the TRE model with how they mounted the screw and also the pinstripe milling. MKM is a collaboration because Lionsteel, Mikita, Fox, and Viper so it wouldn't technically be called a collaboration with them since four separate companies make models under the MKM name.

I think DCA from Knifecenter also later confirmed it was Lionsteel on these.
It's cool that they're branching out. That being said, nothing about that design speaks to me in the slightest lol. They definitely have some designs I might be interested in if the quality was a bit better though.

They probably have the largest catalogue of unique designs and mechanisms. If they can harness that, they could go next level!

@Triple E EDC agreed, it would just take time for people's perception to change. There's so many great budget options now, I'm sure it's hard to compete. I recently got a Vosteed Raccoon button lock and I'm really enjoying it. Crazy what you can get for

For real! 100% agree. Makes me want to put out another video about the tenacious…😂

@Triple E EDC lol. I still keep a Tenacious as a beater, but the whole "value" dynamic has changed so drastically in the last few years. With Delicas going for almost $90 I don't even reccomend them to people anymore. I still buy the exclusives that interest me, but I haven't bought a standard production Spyderco in forever.
It reminds mea a little of the Curtis Cruze I had . Very nice to see CRKT upping their game.

That’s a good comparison!
That is pretty cool 🤟👍
Interesting. I think I actually like it.

I like it more and more as I’ve had it a bit now. The materials for the price are great. Fit is excellent. Finish has an issue here or there but nothing too deal-breaking at this price point given the materials.
Crkt also had a $750 knife called the xoc, and a $300 knife the panache

Never got my hands on a XOC. Would have loved to. The panache I didn’t have much interest in but would take a look if I came across one.
Good review , thanks for sharing , God bless !

Im glad to see new video and i'm impressed to see knife i made on the same video. Roman Danilchenko made that amazing blade, and speaking about him i must say i hope Roman and his family are all good, he is Ukrainan and how city doesnt exist now 😢. I didnt know CRKT have this luxury line, very nice knife.

I hope he is doing well also. I am sorry he is having to go through that. This CRKT luxury line is a huge surprise. I am liking this knife a lot actually, especially for the price considering the materials (twist damasteel, premium CF, etc.).
Wow such a beautiful knife with a nice cloth and case. too bad I really don't have the heart to spend 400 on a knife.
Nice to see them upping their game! But they definitely should have found a way to hide the two show side screws and totally agree CRKT should have been on the spine or the backside of the sharpening choil.. Have you seen the Damasteel monument? Imagine that in twist Dama and an XL variant!! 👊🏼
@TripleEEDC
Жыл бұрын
That would be amazing! I didn’t pick up the monument but I’m thinking about it. Just not entirely everything I want for the price, but I’m liking the pursue so far. I have a few complaints but overall I like it.

@@TripleEEDC Awesome!! Glad you're liking it!! 👊🏼
Heck No you're not crazy for buying this. I get its crkt but premium is premium. Everything out there w/ this type of execution and materials is 2xs the price. I will definitely be buying one...

I’ve had mine for about 2 weeks now and am really loving it for the price. There are a few rough edges as a CRKT but overall the value is there for sure! The contouring on the CF is really well done and the damasteel pattern is really nice!
@zbaird3

@@TripleEEDC ya that's why I liked it the fat carbon contoured scales and that tight twist damasteel and also something about that big mother of pearl pivot jst looks amazing. Imnt to big on small knives but this looks big enough but I can't tell..
@TripleEEDC
Жыл бұрын
@@zbaird3 I’m not big on small knives either but this is big enough but is not a good user knife because of the grind. It’s very similar to a Protech Invictus if you have handled one of those.
The fat carbon dark matter looks great and im surprised you said it doesn't feel better than the benchmade knife it was compared to.
@TripleEEDC
Жыл бұрын
Carbon fiber feels great. Unfortunately the edges of the CF are not chamfered so it doesn’t feel as good as it could, especially considering all of the other chamfering on the knife. Feels like a little bit of a missed opportunity.
That pivot kills the knife. They should have just redesigned it, or put the deadbolt in. But the narrow has a bugout clip, and is still more expensive
@TripleEEDC

I hated the pivot upon seeing it online. The kind of like it now for aesthetics but it Does kind of co**block the front flipper tab from being gripped properly
Beauty
@TripleEEDC
Жыл бұрын
It’s really much nicer than pretty much any CRKT I can recall having.
trying to justify the narrows is a massive cope. knife companies are charging so much for basic designs that it is pricing people out of the hobby. the crkt might actually be worth it tho. that is one company that actually seems to be doing some things worth looking at again. which is shocking as I had written them off.
Does the large pivot serve a purpose? Like does it help?
@TripleEEDC
8 ай бұрын
No. It’s just aesthetic. At first I hated it but it’s actually really well done and now I like it, especially since it’s true to Michael Walker’s designs on his customs.
Congrats you have a high end CRKT.

I am actually still liking this one a lot
is it worth it, are you keeping it?

Yes. I am keeping this one. I love the contoured CF and twist damasteel. That oversized MOP pivot is really growing on me too!
