I don't think so, not at all. Like some Russian knives a bit. Those that are a little behind the curve of consumer appeal.

Another great review LTK. Regarding the box, it is standard practice when selling products indirectly to just throw them in a basic box. The customer sees only the product when they are shopping. With that said, they definitely should make an exception when selling an expensive limited edition knife. The packaging should be part of the limited edition experience. I agree that the box is a let down.

That's a blade destined to be a safe queen. That also explains the lack of a lock bar insert. Who needs one if its just going to sit on a shelf?

You can get a made-in-heaven knife in a Reate in the same range.

I prefer the scales on the prototypes much more.

Disappointing steel. No lock bar insert? I guess they don't expect it to be used much.

You don't need a lockbar insert, sebenzas do great without em

I like it but not the price. I found the china version of the rat worx MRX on DHgate. I bought one. Now to wait and see if it's any good.

I kinda like it... hate those screws in the cf inserts tho. Should have steel lock bar insert and be numbered if there are only 500 made. Price sucks for what it is.

Can you answer me this one question: Why would anybody buy this knife, when they can get the Reate JACK for $50 more? Both are limited editions so availability is not issue here but ofc this will be more available because no one buys this.

Estilgan I totally understand but I really like this design. I’d rather have this than the Steecraft Full size or Mini Bodega for $460. But it’s definitely not perfect.

LionSteel makes some pretty sweet knives. I don't think Sliepner steel is as bad as people say. It's not great but it's not half bad either. I really dig LionSteels rounded blade spines. However, I've honestly never truly liked any CRKT knives. They have some good designs but they are poorly executed.

Yo LTK i would love to see a vid on the new Bestech Ornetta and hear your thoughts on it.

It should be good tho, they even upgraded the steel from the usual s35 to m390 and I really dig the design. What version did u got? I really like the blackwash version but wanted to buy the blue handle with the two tone blade for a change.

I just started watching and never would of thought I would see a 425 dollar crkt burrito wrapped knife but ok.

Pretty knife but I sure don't see $400.

They just don't get it. It's either cheap steel or high end nothing in between.

Paul Hughes I’d like to argue with you but I can’t...... I think CRKT is happy with the particular market niche that they’re in. This high end model wasn’t really the idea of CRKT. It was Blue Ridge Knives. The 2014 Hi Jinx was tho. They just need to really think these things out a bit more before pulling the trigger on the production.

They really don't, and it sure looks like they never will.

Clearly, this knife has some things going for it, especially the design. Ken Onion still has some cred, although it's mostly in the distant past. $400 with no lock bar insert? Are you kidding me? This is no knock on Sleipner, but really, they can't do better for four Rockefellers? How about S90V? Once again, CRKT demonstrates they have not made the jump into the second decade of this century. And we're just about done with this one. I have to just shake my head at CRKT. Some move ahead while others stay behind, trying endlessly to figure out the past. And it's essential to figure out the past so that you CAN move ahead.

Me too. Because I always buy knives because of the box they come in, no matter how beautiful the actual knife is. I hate that I'll be missing out on this Ken Onion CRKT Motley piece of art. If only CRKT put it in a prettier box ...and if I had a spare $400. Shucks. Oh, and WOOOOO HUUUUU! 10 subs to go to the BIG 11,000!!!

Love the knife, it speaks to me as well. Is the pivot torx or do you need a special tool?

Looks like it wash drawn up while resting on an unbalanced running washing machine.

LionSteel makes a bitchin knife but at $420? It just doesn’t makes sense

Loving the review way more than the knife. Not my cup of tea

I like the size. I like the design. The presentation is iffy. That no hardened steel insert and lack of good feel when holding due to high of the release. The lock stick and just overall finish I don't like. Multi row bearings a good certificate knife feeling good in hand with no lock stick would put it in that 400 range. As a safe queen ok but a user which all mine are sorry but it's a pass. True it may go up in value but with its issues I would say 200 - 250. Just my opinion and you know what they say about them. I am sure others will dis agree with me but you put that and the Revenge would go Revenge all day. Compare this to the Freeman flipper now that is worth it. No Ken Onion name but I would take Freeman flipper and Revenge over this. I love recurves but just don't see it Sorry.

It`s got a major hotspot, the carbon fibre inserts are not flush, ugly screws everywhere and it`s overly expensive BZZT FAIL! NEXT!
