Is consciousness ultimate reality? Answer: What defines ultimate? What defines reality? What defines consciousness? since defining something is dependent on knowing or realizing something and since it is consciousness that " knows " and " realizes " then that makes consciousness representing absoluteness. So yes consciousness is fundamental and absolute. Since all of our perceptions and conceptions are interpretations within consciousness, what can we say is beyond consciousness?

people love to talk about the things they lack most..the most beatiful songs about freedom were sang by slaves. I agree to first agree on a definition before any conclusions. the issue is, it is almost impossible to describe „yellow“ to someone who has been blind since birth, so the consciousness. without experiencing, not possible to grasp, not easy to explain in a teaching class.. intellect is not consciousness. e.g. with a limited mind one cannot understand infinity 😀

William Burts: I think you misunderstand the question. The question is "Is consciousness ULTIMATE ( OBJECTIVE) reality?" Even if what we know or understand is because of our consciousness, it might be that there are some objective truths that we cannot know because our brain did not evolve to know those deep truths. Would it mean that those are not objective truths and only our consciousness which might be delusional is fundamental and ultimate.

Many thanks for another in your mind-challenging video series; this one with interviews from World-Class scientists on perhaps the biggest mystery in the human age: consciousness. The "qualia" of consciousness is what enables our human brain to experience and appreciate what it means to be human. Examples are the beauty of a sunset, the love of our family, the triumph of victory, the inspiration of music, art or sports, and the wonder of existence. How is "qualia" even possible? And how does it work And what does it all mean? As your video interviews have illustrated, we've certainly made better progress in analyzing this topic over the past few decades, at least in terms of definitions and distinctions, such as Chalmers' articulation of the "hard problem". And some have even proffered intriguing theories (some even drawing on quantum mechanics), such as Hameroff/Penrose "microtubules", Tonini’s Integrated Information theory, and Hoffman's mathematical models. Astonishing for me also is the range of thinking about consciousness - simple emergence from physical brain matter to fundamental core of reality. In that sense, there is much to explore, verify and refute in the science of consciousness. Here's my 2 cents on what I feel sure about (or nearly sure). 1. Everything that we as humans perceive, interpret and know about the world - either now, in the past or forever - is filtered thru this medium. It's a super-charged Window of Awareness. It's like a permanent pair of Apple Smart Glasses that we are born with, live with and die with. Whatever data, information or experience reaches us from the "outside" Universe thru this consciousness is for us our only reality - and it’s “subjective.” [Point to ponder: We can never step outside of our collective consciousness (as a species) or individual consciousness (as a person) to objectively "test" the Universe.] 2. In the entire observable universe, the only life we know for sure for now that exists is on Earth. And humans are the most complex form of life. And only humans possess the most complex and subtle object in the known universe - the human brain. And this human brain and only this human brain can project: any (advanced-level) consciousness. 3. Thus, to me consciousness seems more of a vehicle or process to "absorb" and "test" reality than a form of reality itself. My position has evolved frankly. I used to hold the view that consciousness was eternal and fundamental (a la Chopra), but have been persuaded to the view that consciousness is simpler and more emergent than that. Some of the "thought questions" which have led me to my evolved views above are: A. If consciousness is eternal and fundamental, why do individuals have disjointed and separate awareness of consciousness? What about people who have passed: why no linkage to their consciousness from them to us? B. If consciousness is fundamental or primordial reality, then why does it (together with our underlying perceptions and senses) fail us in discerning objective "Truth"? In the past, we thought the Earth was flat, that the Sun revolved around the Earth, that the Universe was steady and static, that "nothing" was nothing until quantum theory was developed, that the Universe consisted only of positive matter and energy until dark energy and dark matter - the majority of the Universe - was discovered etc. etc. C. Consider the Universe only one million years after the Big Bang expansion. No life, no humans, no brain, hence no consciousness. If, at that point in space-time, consciousness did not even exist (at least as we know it in its present form), how could it conceivably be fundamental or primordial? Finally, consider this puzzle: If there was no human consciousness, we would not even know that there exists consciousness. In other words, we only know there is consciousness because of our consciousness. Query: would it even exist otherwise? If there is a fundamental, primordial and ultimate reality, my speculation is that it must be even more elemental, richer and eternal than even "human-perceived" consciousness. Just a few opinions and thoughts. Thanks again for your provocative video.

I love it... Look at the Universe as a “Big Brain”, with infinite possibilities and man has a much smaller brain but with “finite”, possibilities...however, man has the capabilities to “Sync”, with the infinite mind but isn’t tought how to do so. Different indoctrination kept folks on a certain path, money and material things kept the finite mind occupied. Then life happens, with its obstacles, or trauma or other different problems man create. Which then, is carried with you blocking you from your gift that no one has ever taught you or you just have to remember. So with all that being said, folks don’t want you to know that GOD “Infinite mind” dwells in the “Living Man”!!! The Energy Resides in the HEART!!! Your Brain sends and receives messages... just gotta still your mind and listen or pay attention to your surroundings. Also your thoughts manifest your future, so be mindful.............................ONE LOVE.

@garybalatennis quick answers to your questions. First, we must differentiate between intelligence (problem solving, what computers do well), memory (saving information, what memory devices do well), emotion generation (what minds do), sense perception (what sense organs and analytical apparati do.). Consciousness is neither of these. Consciousness is your perception of colour yellow (vs. signals carried on energy and processed by brain and interpreted by mind). Take the example of Garybalatennis sitting in the passenger set of a fully autonomous car. The car is preprogrammed with where you need to go. You get in the back seat. The car validates your identify biometrically, and takes of for your destination- you haven’t been told where. The car’s sensors collect data, including GPS sensors obtaining coordinates. It’s memory holds maps needed for the journey. It’s program and processor help make decisions based on evolving road and traffic conditions and fixed destination information. All of this is happening mechanistically. The car is not conscious. You, on the other hand, are conscious of the journey, but make no decisions, know none of the key facts needed to drive (directions, controls for car speed and acceleration, or for lights, etc.). This is similar to the distribution of roles between our automaton body-minds, and the universal consciousness. There is only one consciousness, and many minds. Minds are unique in that their mental activities, thoughts “reflect consciousness”. That’s to say, what the minds think (but are not aware of), that the consciousness is aware of (but doesn’t get involved in the processing, storage, or recall of). Consciousness is completely passive, and has no evolutionary role. (A) why do people have disjointed awareness of consciousness? “People”, as in human brains don’t have awareness, consciousness does. The brain synthesizes every moment of our existence into thought-composites that include the sense of “I”, “location”, “mood”, “decisions”… all of that. This enables the body to act. As an independent fact, the Consciousness is aware of these thoughts. When the thoughts are the result of our waking state, or when the thoughts are the stuff of dreams during sleep, the consciousness is equally privy to our thoughts. When we are in dreamless sleep too the consciousness is aware of this thought-inactivity. The awareness of your thoughts, which always encode your identity, “ego”, arises in the one Consciousness. The consciousness faithfully reveals whatever are the contents of your thought. Since your thought has ego coded in it, therefore the resulting awareness that arises in the Consciousness feels like it is “your consciousness”. It appears to be your consciousness, in concept, like the space within a pot appears to be “pot space” of that pot. Each pot is perceived to have its own pot space, it’s wave is seen to have its own water content. The space and the water each themselves undivided. The awareness of my thoughts reveals my encoded ego. Hence the awareness of my thoughts is misattributed to me. Every brain generates its own ego-encoded thoughts, and thus the resulting awareness, albeit in the same consciousness, is taken to be individual consciousness. (2) Why is a primordial, “universal” consciousness not productive of the truth of this Universe? The brains deal in categories, concepts, ideas, emotions, reason, problem solving, action, thoughts, etc. Consciousness is pure awareness. All of the capabilities of computers can be translated to computers. Computers, AI, robots, the automatons can replace all functions of humans. What cannot be replicated is consciousness. At the end of the universe, all creation returns to consciousness. Time itself being in consciousness, and consciousness being outside of time, there is no temporality in consciousness. We are not different from this Consciousness. The empirical reality is not conscious, but borrows its existence from consciousness. (C) Minds did not create, and do not posses consciousness. All reality exists in consciousness. The empirical reality is not conscious, but borrows its existence from consciousness. Minds are like optical lenses- they can apprehend empirical reality (just as lenses form images out of light), and project it onto consciousness. Can consciousness apprehend the world without brains? A vibration, picked up by my ear, channeled as my experience, becomes a part of the awareness that I heard that sounds- “my awareness” in that sense. You could hear the same sound, and that’ll form a second awareness in the same consciousness. The vibration itself doesn’t depend on perception to become real. However, there is no scientific opposition to the whole creation being an evolving probability wave before the first brain projected it, collapsing the wave function. All the “parallel” universes would be contained in this universal probability wave. … hope this helps.

"EXCELLENT".... extremely beautiful presentation , including Dr. Robert L Kuhn's comentry before & after every partispant speakers...... Best distinguished participants /speakers, best contents of the arguments , best scenic / landscape with subject related beautiful / artefacts ,is truly a treat to viewers. Dr. Deepak Chopra & Dr. Neil Theis's beautiful , authentic , simple & best explanation & described by them in a very stylish way , (we medical doctors , including countless other medical doctors who believe in pure consciousness can neither be fooled by mystic / something which doesn't make sense and can't be reliable nor they can be victim of clubbing, any type of pressure or greed.)....to gain knowledge / in his quest for TRUTH , Dr.Deepak Chopra sacrificed his comfortable family life and easy medical practice in America , faced hardships , remained years with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Indian Himalayan forests / jungles , led a life of beggars in Buddhist caves in Thailand , rigrous meditation & study of Vedic scriptures , interaction with several Scienctists /philosphers / sages , study of scientific literature , attending seminars and going all over the world , and he has recently awarded his own hard-earned millions of dollars to physicalist scienctists to work on pure consciousness concept , & to make the knowledge of PURE CONSCIOUSNESS , simple , plain & understandable for layman / common person (presently he is working with Noble laurates & other renowned scientists in his Chopra facility for the same). There are 1.80 billion (1.1 billion Hindus & 0.70 billion Buddhist) people in all over the world who follow & have faith in this concept of pure consciousness. Dr.Fred Alan wolf is fearless & has beautifully, in a simple and extremely best possible way has explained the role of quantium field theory (QFT & underlying information theory, multiverse etc. already described in Hindu Vedic scriptures 5000 yrs. ago.) validating /confirming PURE CONSCIOUSNESS concept , and which is already supported by several distinguished Nobel laurates like Dr. Shriondager ( singular) , Dr. Max plank (fundamental) , Neils Bhoir , Dr. Heisenberg , Dr. Brian Jopsons and several other distinguished Nobel laurates / renowned great Scienctists. Dr. Frank J Tipler's views of brain working as computer etc., has already been rejected by Dr.Robert L Kuhn himself several times in this series of video posts on consciousness & also strongly by physicalists including hardcore physicalist John Serale , & several other philosophers / scienctist having same ideology as DR. Frank J. Tipler. Dr. Robert L Kuhn himself has got inclination towards PURE CONSCIOUSNESS but maybe he would like to do more studies and practicals (being subjective, meditation etc. ) for the same.....or some other approach.... any how he is the best person to take us closest to truth or ultimate TRUTH / REALITY. Personally I support Dr. KUHN'S internal desire ( including mine is the same and also most of the viewers ) that consciousness must not be explained wherein the person's personal 'IDENTITY' is lost(we are attached to self , family and friends , society etc.).........but consciousness / pure consciousness is singular in nature i.e. only one consciousness and as a metaphor let's take cosmic consciousness as ocean , and individual / spiritual consciousness as waves in the ocean.. waves arises & subsides , and therefore waves can't maintain their IDENTITY for a long , it has to subside sooner or later in one bigger ocean & becomes ONE (singular) with ocean ( we can save waves and human beings identity in camera / photo but we can't save waves and human beings identity from merging or disappearing in one ocean or cosmic consciousness respectively from which it has arisen in due course of time both being in time and space) , and similarly therefore we don't have a choice....... but anyway I am waiting for the final verdict / judgement by Dr. Robert L Kuhn. Logically , time is the essence , for us , present day generation , PURE CONSCIOUSNESS (which claims death disruption / immortality with associated experience of BLISS while performing worldly choirs ) , seems to be the only one option as physicalist themselves have admitted that they have not been able to solve the hard problem of consciousness (& doesn't seem to solve the hard problem of consciousness during our remaining / balance life span). Thanks for portrait of SHIVA which depicts PURE CONSCIOUSNESS / PURE AWARENESS /COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS / DIVINE ILLUMINATION / BRAHMAN & which is fundamental , singular , formless , shapeless , infinite , not in space time , which prevades physical plane , intermediate space (quantium , information fields , mathematics / equations etc) , consciousness of energy ( prana) & consciousness of Divine mind ( intelligence ) , & beyond as Divine illumination which is source of all existence & in which every thing exists , evolve & dissolves , and which is beyond discription etc. ( and this beyond description , being subjective , can be achieved by following Vedic scriptures & by meditation techniques which awakens the consciousness present in the person to the same level of pure consciousness (cosmic consciousness / Divine illumination) and become one and the person experiences BLISS while performing worldly choirs & also achieve immortality)...... PHYSICAL BODY WHICH APPEARS TO BE REAL BUT ACTUALLY NOT REAL AS IT VANISHES / DISAPPEAR WITHIN 125 YRS.(biological life span) BUT AWAKENED SPIRITUAL CONSCIOUSNESS (part of cosmic consciousness which is present in all human beings) WHICH APPEARS TO BE ILLUSION/ETHEREAL BUT IS REAL , REMAINS FOR EVER (INFINITE TIME & SPACE -- IMMORTAL) and that is ULTIMATE REALITY One needs to SHIFT identity from physical body which is in time of life span(125 yrs.) & space / volume of physical body TO cosmic consciousness / awareness which is in infinite time & infinite space / volume....... thanks 🙏.

Dr Sharma, thank you for taking the time to educate us about the various scientists and researchers. I was particularly enlightened by your comments on Deepak Chopra. I was taught TM about 50 years ago and had an experience that has stayed with me and have never been able to explain. While meditating l seemed to have left my body and appeared to be hurtling through space as a ball of light. I was still me, but without a physical body. I felt completely at peace, completely happy and aware. I would liked to have stayed this way but found myself back in my body stunned by what had happened. Maybe I was dreaming but it didn’t feel like a dream. The closest I came to an explanation was from the words of the Maharishi talking about pure awareness. Unfortunately it never happened again. Cheers.

The radio argument goes both ways. Since, given the right assembly of components, a radio structure can form/emerge. Removing a critical feature (e.g. the cooper wiring), would be similar to it, but not a radio. Now it may use some energy outside of the structure for it to really do its work as a radio, but still, it emerges under these conditions...

NDEs are strong circumstantial evidence. They were having the same first person experience while out of the body! I've had personal experiences of my own. Got 100s of clips of my dead grandpa who appears as an orb of light. Then I've his EVPs. It's very Difficult to dismiss such direct experiences. And consciousness is the ultimate reality is not a new idea. It goes back to thousands of years in the Hindu texts of the upanishads. They suggest that this universe exists nowhere else but in consciousness and pure consciousness free from all distinctions is our real nature. Realizing this we attain immortality. One Upanishad even addresses us as the children of immortal bliss as pure consciousness is of the nature of sat chit ananda or existence consciousness bliss. Advaita Vedanta also dismisses the idea of a separate creator. Only our will is done. Nisargadatta Maharaj explained it this way, that it is the instinct of exploration and love of the unknown that brings us into existence but our real home is beyond. Nisargadatta was a simple roadside vendor in Mumbai, India but he realized his true nature as the infinite consciousness after experiencing a spiritual transformation and started giving talks. His book I Am That is a must read.

I had an experience one time I got poisoned and was very ill .. I remember seeing myself as a kid in front of myself ,screaming at me with a very peculiar shirt I had, in a house we lived . and feeling so hurt about what I was saying, I remember thinking that I was worried ..and like I was the boss and that my decision was made .. .this was like a couple of seconds and I was left very confused and still aggravated at myself ... weeks later I remembered . I had a fight with my mother where I was screaming at her because she wouldn't let me go to a halloween party.. . I remembered then that I had that tshirt.. I remembered fragments of what I said and I cant believe im saying this but in that moment I was my mother.. I felt what she felt, I had the mindset that she had.. this only lasted for a couple of seconds.. but I remember what I felt as her. Fighting with me.. It was absolutely a real experience I had of interacting with myself through not only the eyes of my mother, but being in her mind. It hurt for my son to say some of those things.. I cannot explain it any other way.. I believe very strongly that consciousness is something we share or access... . if all matter around us are just fields absent of true solidity being interpreted by our individual minds as the tree or keyboard.. why do we experience the same world around us.? why do you and I see the same tree and same moon..? its one consciousness interpreting the fields around us through each one of us. we are consciousness drones. I accessed that consciousness feed from my mother. from another time. when we read in religions we will be judged by an entity that knows everything about us.. I interpret that as a moment where we experience ourselves from all other consciousness drones that experienced us.. if that happens if were evil.. we will live through everyone else, our actions and feel what we made other people feel.. I feel when we die here, our consciousness joins the pool of feeds. where.. "all truths will be known "not only all we did and thought.. but what other people did and thought . we will have no secrets amongst each other, we will know everything .. because were no longer drones only knowing what our camera sees..our drop will join the pool and mix with all the water. just a thought

After watching quite a few episodes, it seems that the host (Robert) tries to fit everything into a materialistic, reductionist physics paradigm, which makes sense because it is how he was trained; however, this strategy means that he will probably never be able to understand many of the phenomena he explores because they are non-physical. It’s like trying to put a square peg (the physics paradigm) into a round hole (non-physical phenomena)-it won’t work, or won’t work at our current state of knowledge. Physics is extremely useful for understanding the external universe, but has little light to shed on the inner universe (at least in my experience).

David I agree. Materialism is an expression of ones INTELLECT. Ones intellect is said to be sharp or blunt like a knife. If you use your intellect to dissect reality you will develop materialist science you will use your INTELLECT to dissect everything in smaller and smaller pieces and you will categorise and store/memories everything. Eg human body is dissected and all parts labelled. Every animal plant lucky enough to meet a materialist will undergo this crude process. This is materialism it’s using ones intellect to dissect EVERYTHING... Well I ask is everything Knowable through ones intellect...? Eg Imagine using your intellect to KNOW your mother. You would have to dissect her and say these are her veins this is her heart this is her brain these are her neurones these are her atoms these are her quarks.... can you really know everything with just your bare intellect..? This is the reason science will never tackle consciousness such a rudimentary approach ... if you want to KNOW what is consciousness KNOW YOURSELF. you are your best possible example/ subject for the inquiry of consciousness..!! Learn to apply all the same energy you spend invested in the “outside world’ just for a short time a day maybe then more invest some of that INWARDLY!! My way of understanding consciousness is to perturb my consciousness. This is the most ANCIENT STANDARD way. Play with your OWN consciousness, subject it to different/ altered states this will at the very least give you experiential “knowledge” that you yourself have felt experienced not read in a book or seen online. Take the plunge into the abyss for yourselves alter your consciousness experiment but most importantly EXPERIENCE it for your self. Consciousness something experiences NOT measured!! Sorry for ranting.

For me, consciousness seems to be a sea (as a quantum field), defining the relation between every 'n' to its 'n+1' - dimensional reflection. Each brain is a drop, temporarily arousing from this sea. All maths in today's modern theories play with 'n' to 'n+1' dimensional transitions to explain reality (vector spaces, complex numbers, eigenstates and so on) and striving to put the observer as part of the equations, though most physicians hate that.

Yes, ultimately though, there's no distinction between between reality within us and reality outside of us. This is merely a conceptual distinction. A duality that collapses from a more absolute perspective. The outside world explored in a dream was actually a world inside of ourselves. So it is with this reality. From a more absolute perspective there's only consciousness. And I propose that a more accurate distinction is between private experiences (the reality within), and shared experiences (the reality seemingly outside).

As a skeptic who’s had transcendent experiences, it became pretty much undeniable. At that point I kept asking myself why, and that drove me towards trying to figure out the logic behind it.. I keep hearing people explaining a little on how it functions and a bit of evidence that would suggest consciousness, but never seen anyone attempt to explain why consciousness is fundamental. No material evidence will ever lead to that conclusion, it can only hint at it, sort of like evidence in dreams hint at dream. And human type communication is too primitive to put it accurately.. But I think I found a human-friendly explanation, so take it or leave it. It’ll give the minority the right idea of what I’m attempting to explain. If you’re the minority, 👊🏻 The explanation has to go deeper than the fundamental itself, which isn’t logically possible, because it’s an attempt to explain something without an origin. It’s more of a thought process. It must be thought of as a pair of opposites in which only 1 of the pair is a possibility. So, you’ll have to think of the 2 “possible” states of existence. Existence vs. non-existence (nothingness).. Non-existence speaks for itself. Its an impossible “state”, it can’t Be. So you’re left with existence. Existence IS because of the impossibility of non-existence. And because of the impossibility of nothingness, existence has no origin, and must be infinite. What‘s existence then.. An infinite void where everything is bound to happen in infinite time? An infinite dimensional spacetime with infinite possibilities, where all possible moments that don’t actually “happen” exist simultaneously as plank moments in set locations in all the above dimensions, in which our experience automatically traverses through the 1 direction in >3D that adds new memory to the brain (the only direction human experience exists, therefore calling that forward in time, when there’s no actual progression of time)? Current evidence seems to point toward it. And it sounds a lot like what pure consciousness is, just without consciousness. If we assume it’s not consciousness, then everything is stuff. But anything more than infinitesimal in size would demand an origin, which includes an empty void. That seems like a dead end to ideas for existence.. However, experience in and of itself counts as existence.. With that in mind, back to the first question. Experience vs. non-experience. The closest you can get to non-experience is a dreamless sleep. Where 8 hours in real time can seem like a few seconds to your experience. Few seconds of experience within 8 hours means minimal experience, an experience nevertheless. Simplified, there are 2 different clocks ticking. The universe clock and the experience clock. The experience clock is what matters for this explanation.. Non-experience means no passage of time on the experience clock. The state of non-experience can exist for 0 seconds, meaning not at all. So after “your” body is no longer generating experience, experience still goes on, but it’s no longer generated by that body. No matter the progression of the universe clock, the experience clock is ticking at a constant rate, and never stops. So when it comes to the fundamental question: experience vs. non-experience.. If we assume non-experience is a possibility, then you’re unknowingly assuming that a state that exists for 0s exists for ♾. No matter how much eternity of nothingness you throw at it, non-experience is always 0s on the experience clock. Meaning non-experience was never a thing. Experience has always been, without beginning or end. And that’s because of the impossibility of non-experience.. So that raises the following question: what would that fundamental experience have to be like? We’re talking about the default state of existence.. Existence must be infinite, so if experience is existence, then that experience must be infinite with no bounds.. That experience can’t be a system of thought, since there’s nothing to base it on. Rather it’s an automatic “imagining” or manifestation of all possibilities through no will of its own. THAT is consciousness..... It has no size, no location.. It just IS because of the impossibility of non-experience. Things that have size/distance, location, functions/behaviors are within the “imagining” of consciousness at its purest form. So it tends to be called pure consciousness. For elaboration, pure consciousness experiences itself in nothing other than the 1st person (or 0th person if there’s such a thing). Let’s call it “I”. It’s the only 1 “I” in existence. Meaning, if you feel like you’re “I”, then pure consciousness is not aware of itself at the moment.. Rather it’s experiencing this tension at a specific location within its own infinite ocean of awareness. Processes are happening everywhere in this ocean of awareness. Some locations have processes create more tension than other locations. Like in the location of closed systems (your brain, body) in which the more processes are concentrated within a smaller area than elsewhere, and more greatly influenced by stuff outside the closed system than how other things influence each other (everything’s influenced equally but you get the point). So the brain creates more tension (in its location in infinite awareness) within a tighter space than a rock for example. So the infinite awareness exists in the rock, but 99.99999999% of the tension is in the area of the brain and 0.000000001% is in the rock.. That’s what we call being sober.. Meditation/Psychedelics allow for the change of that percentage.. But once the tension is there, it’s nearly impossible to bring that tension to 0% without dying. The awareness you have now is a product of the infinite awareness, but limited to what that location (brain) is able to use from the infinite properties of awareness

I would like to add that since observers can exist we can assume that they can theoretically have a chance of existing over some amount of time, and over an infinite amount of time, an infinite number of observers can I exist. With every one of those observers having a chance of being born continuing at the point where a previous observer's experience ended, but again, given enough time, it is bound to happen to every observers, including you and me, an infinite number of times. which means that even after an observer's experience has ended, it will pick up right where it left off even after death itself.

Absolutely! The entire universe is a projection of pure Consciousness, but this substrate (The Substance of Spinoza), has mostly been lost in terms of direct experience, for most people due to the emersion in dualistic concerns. To recover one's appreciation of the Transcendental Absolute, no problem. Access "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir". Listen to it for 5 min per day for at least two weeks or longer. Eventually you will become aware of pure Consciousness, the Ultimate Reality, as "The Self", if you haven't experience this Samadhi already. Shanti.

Hey Julian! I agree that concluding consciousness to be fundemental based off of a trancendant experience is indeed unwarranted from a rational perspective. However for those of us who believe that that's a reasonable confusion to come to independently of such experiences, such experiences can perhaps be come to be understood as experiences in which one actually is apprehending the true state of affears. And Idealism has occam's razor/parsimony, epistemological reliability and arguably explanatory power on its side, rendering, in my view, Emergentism untenable.

Interesting and I also think that our consciousness is ultimate reality. Reason is simple. Goven that universe is more than 3D, we need to ask why our perception is still limited within 3D. The reason lies in qualia that Deepak mentioned. We get information via senses, which is electric signal generated by brain. Although everything in the universe is composed of matter or wave, our sense is only matter. Therefore, when our bodies fall asleep and senses are paralyzed, we expereince higher dimensions. For instance some, people see the future. Carl Jung defined it 'syncrocity'. For more detail, you may access the video clip regrding the Matrix in my channel.

Then what do you think put human within 3D although the universe is more than that? We need philosophy and at least quantum physics to think further beyond the information we get via sense which is 3D.

I told you that our sense is limiting tne opportunity to feel it. Not any animal feel the higher dimension in which they live. The fish, which lives in deep sea, cannot peeceive the out of sea. Ant, which lives in 2D, has no sense of height. Of course, human cannot find more than 3Ds. 'Swan is white' was truth before black swan was discovered in Australia. On Chopra. I agree that equations that describe electromagnetism, nuclear force, gravity conceptualize the physical world. He concludes that those forces aren't fundamental--they're concepts. Not so. We do the conceptualization. It's our creation. The forces are real. Our consciousness doesn't give us access to reality. So, my feeling that my mind extends all boundaries, that it doesn't come from my mind is an illusion. Consciousness is the farthest entity away from reality! It's a product of a very long evolution.

We are particle-impaired humanoids. We all grew-up KNOWING that all matter was particles. No particle; no matter. Then Quantum Mechanics suggested (with the assistance from Heisenberg) that particles were made of smaller particles (Standard Model) and our particle-impaired brains responded to the affirmative. We like particles. Then someone had the audacity to suggest that our fuzzy-warm particles, were actually energy waves because of wave characteristic that were generated experimentally - but that didn't bother us. We stilled called them particles! Finally some very strange fellows blew our minds with String Theory and some of us said that made perfect sense. These were not particles at all, but were "invisible" energy strings - which might even produce wave characteristics upon experimentation. But the work-a-day particle physicist returned to the particle collider and smashed matter into (you guessed it} more particles. So I ask you. How do particle-impaired humanoids determine Consciousness or for that matter Existence; when we still don't have a clue how all this stuff hangs together? There is more missing than just the God 'Particle' - The Higgs Boson 'particle' did not complete the family portrait as we all hoped it would. Back to the particle drawing board.

Why do so many otherwise highly intelligent Materialists like Frank Tipler ‘explain’ consciousness as if it were some form of behaviour - a ‘codified pattern’ that ‘does’ something, like a software program or a CD? It’s not something that ‘does’, it’s something that ‘is’. Consciousness isn’t a behaviour, it’s the experience of qualia - that “there is something it is like to be”. That’s the mystery! No “pattern” of pits on a CD or bits on a computer we know can generate such experience/qualia. So his/their ‘explanation’ is no explanation. Yet, they seem to have a real blind spot about this... Someone should point it out to them!

They keep looking; but have yet to find it. Perhaps because the orchestra (a.k.a. the universal consciousness) is not something you can find by merely looking. Perhaps it is using the radio (a.k.a. the brain) as a conductor for our human experience and awareness. A vehicle for it. Sometimes the radio is broken, and the reception gets distorted. This has always made sense to me.
