I'm confident that God will lead Chinese Christians to the right Bible, even if they've been deceived for a long time. I went to the wrong church for seven years, stopped believing in Christianity, and fully embraced a secular life before God pointed me to the right church. Even if we've been duped into believing wrong doctrine, God will bring us back.

This is a myth. Some Chinese lawyer was critiquing this passage in a publication of his, it was printed in some newspaper, and the Western media got a hold of the story and ran with it. All the Chinese Christians I speak with tell me what you’ve just said. The CCP is not rewriting the Bible.

@samhu1962 Yeah, maybe or maybe not. Whether it's misinformation or not, persecution here in China is real. Many Christians need to gather up in secret, but the Lord has always been protecting us.

As someone who stays in China, i see how imperative it is to have Christians from outside China support and even teach the Chinese, especially in these times. Cos I can’t imagine the effect of wrong theology. It will be too devastating especially having the Chinese Christians in such a number. I think of groups like the Jehovahs witnesses and Mormons, one wrong ideology with has been taken seriously by huge amounts of people. We gotta pray for these souls

My family fled from China, due to the religious persecution of Christians in China; during the cultural revolution. Most people have no idea that it's still taking place, and that modern martyrs are dying for Christ, still to this day.

I been trying to look for evidence of this "China rewrites Bible" story for a while, but all I was able to find about the "Rewriting" is in the textbook the video mentioned. there is no evidence that the Holy Bible in China has been actually rewritten in my findings. but this story has been told many times as the "Chinese government rewriting the Bible", that textbook has no regional or spiritual purpose but a law-based educational textbook, this "rewriting" could be caused by the lack of knowledge of the writers themselves. But there is a fact that is actually concerning in China, the CCP has banned Bible selling in any bookstores since around 2018, they only allowed the Bible to be sold at their "Official Chruchs" since then. and you can't buy The Holy Bible online in China.

I think it's easy for a American or any English speaker to talk about anything but themselves with so emphasis and yes, I'm being ironic. The point is, it's written in the Bible that people would die for Christ, there would be false leaders and powerful people trying to get hold of the Truth like it's theirs. It happened before and will continue to happen till the end of times. We, as Christians, should be aware of what come out of our mouths and ask God for Wisdom. This video could be an attack to Bible publishers because they don't really go for China just because of their expertise, but for profit! Money being the root of all evil, it's easy to see how the enemy is using powerful people and greedy people to change what's in the scriptures. Oh but let's not be naive... the real Truth set free whomever wants to believe! The problem ain't a Communist Party, ain't a Nation, per se but the bigger picture that's the Plan of God.

I have a Chinese Bible of the official Chinese protestant church version and it seems to be a normal Bible translation that has been around for a while. It’s from 2018.

As a Chinese Christian, I grew up in China and read bibles from both official churches and underground sources. I never found one bible that was rewritten by the government. The reason is simple: only very stupid people will do so. It is 21st century now and there are millions of sources you can get a bible (even in China), either a hard copy or an electronic one. Chinese Christians don’t reply on the Bibles that are said to be controlled by the government. And it is also stupid to sell such “rewritten” bible to the Western countries. The reason is obvious. Please stop politicizing issues that is related to our holy faith. It is gross! if you really believe in God, you will not use the faith as a political weapon.

Not only have they rewritten Jesus as a killer, but they have also rewritten Him as a sinner. This underwrites the entire foundation of the cross, that Christ died unblemished as a sacrifice for our sins. If they believe this they cease to be Christian.

What he said is correct, the CCP wants to undermine the divinity of Christ by portraying Him as a sinner, because "Christianity" is the worship of Christ as God. If Christ is not God, and just a mortal man who sins Himself, then those misled into believing this aren't Christian by definition. Sorry, but I feel like this video is a bit misleading. A quote from a textbook (which prompted a strong reaction from local believers, apparently - rightly so; the publishers then distanced themselves from it) is not the same as changing the printed text of a Bible. The video kind of gives the impression that the government is involved in some large-scale effort to change the Bible, when it would appear that this is an isolated incident applying to some teaching material in a textbook. (Also this happened several years ago, as others have pointed out.)

The problem with trying to change the bible is that they can not change the manuscripts feom which they were translated. Hence any changes will only condemn them in the eyes of their own people. They would be best not to show their hand in such a foolish manner.

Not true. They could have already changed the manuscripts. Isaiah 24:5 in the Hebrew says they will change God's laws. Plus there is the meanings too, that is much easier c=to change. They can just lie about what the original meanings stated.

I’ve Muslims and Christians friends from China, though they agree that religions are heavily scrutinized but no complaints about the Bible or Quran being edited. In facts some on the controversial paragraphs which I thought would have been removed were not removed. Was told long as they’re not extremist, or trying to gather a bunch of followers, it’s fine. My friends is born into a Muslims family, but he isn’t religious like most Chinese people in China. As a overseas Chinese diaspora, I notice most Chinese are not religious, we think of religion as a service provider.

Well I worked in China for years, and still know many people there, and still am connected, and to this day no one has even brought this issue up...of course I would not put it past the ccp (of course they would like to do such a thing if they could) but yeah, I dont think this issue is quite like the video says it is...and I dont think it would ever succeed, because the Chinese are not dumb...and you would have to be pretty dumb to fall for something so ridiculous...especially since the CUV （和合本）Chinese Bible has been used for over a century and the content is known...the only people that would fall for that scam would be those in the three self church, and even some of them are good and sincere believers so...I think this video is a bit something like the boy that cried wolf (just my opinion)...:) I don't think its really an issue. the churches in china are face far worse issues than this, and its not the "persecution" that everyone in the west always talks about, its worldliness, the love of money, compromise, prosperity gospel, overzealous calvinism etc...these issues are far more serious and pressing in the Chinese churches....

The pericope about the adulterous woman isn't original to the gospel of John. It was added by a scribe around the year 300AD. No copies of John before 300AD contain the story at all.

I wondered what they were reading when I saw 2 chinese christian movies. They still told us about the underground church but the translation of the passages they read made me believe something was wrong somewhere. Thank you for this video.

There is no way this would work. They would have to collect all the old bibles first, and then still the collective memory of the christian population would recognize something this far off....

Pray for Chinese Christians to realize that they're being exploited, manipulated by foreign forces ...to become hateful and turns to criminals .

The way they've rewritten John 8:3-11 is so perfect. It's interpretation would be that the CCP isn't sinless, but someone has to enforce the law, so it should be the CCP that enforces the law. They've rewritten it to absolve themselves of having to prove themselves righteous before enforcing laws. In Animal Farm, one of the pigs was seen going up to the board that said "All animals are equal". The next morning it said "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others". I see absolutely no difference between that and what the CCP is doing.

What credible sources can you provide for this information? If this is verifiable, it is very important information. Not trying to question your credibility, but doing the responsible thing... following up. I live in China, so maybe you can imagine why this is so important to me. Although, it should be important to everyone.

I have heard this story repeated with the same example (John 8) in several outlets since 2020 and it does not seem to have had any other developments since then. What I do know is that the CPC has made public their desire to 'Sinicize' religion. To my knowledge, they have not said that they intend to re-write religious texts such as the Bible or Quran, so I think that part might be conjecture. It is true that the CPC makes the Bible and Quran harder to access by limiting where it can be bought and sold, online apps, etc.

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭

We have decent Chinese translations, such as 吕振中or和合本, which are completely trust worthy, and are an equivalent of the KJV and NIV, however, the “rewritten” version of the Chinese bible are not considered biblical to Chinese churches, they are similar to the passion translation and the new world version, which are extremely dangerous for Christians to study.

Better have a printed KJV Bible ( instead of just relying on online versions).. also, read and study your printed Bibles, you'll never know if the ones printed from there have been "changed".

CNBB's official Catholic Bible is also printed in Brazil by Edições CNBB and Editora Paulus.

The Revelation 22:18 " I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll."

I have recent English Bibles both Catholic and Protestant published by Party arms. None have this rewrite.

For i also had experience that the bible is alive. any adding or reduce any word in the bible if not from God, then it is said in the bible that he will not take such lightly. a group of cult may not induce the rage of God, but if it is from a government level, ......... do remember that Daniel's king just self pride of his own achievement, that God had to humble him.

Christianity in China then and now is actually very diverse and in my 10+ yrs in PRC, I've never had a Bible with such translation, nay, rewrite. May I ask which particular Church (in collab with CPC) uses that Bible?

You are right. I cautiously hold faith that QC efforts are made to ensure that printings like my MacArthur study Bible aren't altered. We should pray for the Chinese people to be able to learn the truth.

I used to go to church and I just spoke to Chinese people 5 minutes ago they are nice people. I don't need a religion to treat others how I like to be treated.

I mean, that account at John 8:1-11 isn't truly part of the inspired record. It has been shown to be a later addition not in the earliest manuscripts and not authentically canon, revision or not.

It's in the Textus Receptus (Received Text), which is the underlying text for the KJV. The so-called "earliest manuscripts" is a hoax perpetuated by the Vatican, which puts forth their Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus as "oldest and best". All the modern versions come from their fraudulent manuscripts.

Why do you think there is a need to rewrite the Bible? If that’s the case why did they even allowed for religion in the first place? Targeting on the religion in China will not resolved anything but will it caused troubles to the Chinese followers?

@@TheJayJayYoung Was told "to allow religion in China" so others will not accused of China being no religious freedom. To rewrite the bible (if true)so that it fixed the teaching of the communist way of thinking (as said in the requirement of localization of religions). Personnally I hope China will just do localization as in Asian, not following the western teaching(freedom of sex etc), but still follows the teaching of bible, and NOT CHANGE the text in the bible. If they so do as in practices(NOT CHANGE the text in the bible), at least acknowledge it as a new religion, not baring the name of existing Christianity. If true, please bare in mind that Chinese hyper sensitive in insult on Chinese, then please note it even more then just insult on Christianity if the bible is change by their own will.

Based on the comments, and also from my family (Pastor of Chinese christian) that has connections with Christian's in China. It's quite clear that this video doesn't really support much evidence, plus Christian persecution in China is only in few areas today. (Based on Chinese Christian's experience, and their Bibles hadn't been tampered with in my knowledge) Hopefully this comment helps 🙏

There are many Christians in jail right now for their faith, arion. Instead of basing reality on your personal experience, why not support the truth of the matter?

Chinese here, haven’t heard heresy in Protestant or Catholic Churches I’ve went to so far. It’s more pronounced in the north where central authority is stronger. But it’s not as widespread as people might think. Take care and God bless.

The Chinese Church have free access to Bibles in the form of Chinese Union Version used in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The CUV was translated by a panel with members from many different Protestant denominations, using the English Revised Version as a basis and original-language manuscripts for crosschecking. Work on the CUV began in 1890 (Wikipedia). I think this video is abit misleading as the Bible is freely available in every Chinese Church.

King James and Douay-Rheims were and still are the two important Bibles depending if you were an English speaking Catholic or Protestant, you might want to correct that little point. Nowadays the leading Bible is probably the New Revised Standard Bible which basically tries to bridge the gaps between the Hebrew and Greek translations...

I am interested to get my hands on this altered bible. I can't seem to find it anywhere and want to verify its existence.

I use my goatskin Bible. Yes, I use the internet to quickly search for a verse, but I use an actual Bible when I want to study.

I found a bible printed in 1939 based on tne first official translation of 1933 a few years after our langauge was standardised. I understand that it may be difficult for the younger genarations to read so will say we need to read and compare different translations

Recently, the House of Representatives passed a bill prohibiting criticism of Israel, which includes a provision that any content criticizing Jewish people in the Bible can no longer be discussed. If you say it, it is considered anti-Semitic.

Most of my Bibles are from the U.S.A. and one of them was printed and published in my home state of OH.

They don't even realize how terrifying the thing they're doing is. Rev 22:18-19 says it all.

These guys don't just choose certain words in the bible they want to completely reinvent it. Do they do that to themselves or to all bibles they print

Respectfully, the KJV is not written in Old English. It is written in modern English. However, words such as "ye" and "thou" are used. There is a logical reason for their use. In the 1600s English speakers did not use words like "ye" and "thou", but the King James translators included them because they wanted to use very precise wording in the Bible that distinguishes plural from singular pronouns. We do not have a clear distinction of these pronouns in today’s English. The King James Bible clears up the confusion of pronouns. The “Ts” (thee, thou, thy and thine) are second person singular pronouns, like when addressing an individual person or a single nation. The “Ys” (ye and you) are second person plural, like when addressing a group of people or a group of nations. All modern versions, including the NKJV, corrupt the prophetic references to Christ in the Old Testament by changing singular pronouns to plural pronouns. The seed of Abraham is Jesus Christ: Galatians 3:16 - Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. At least 1000s of new textbooks on different subjects get published in China each year, because the teachers need this kind of accomplishment to advance their career. The fact is, just like many research papers, most of these textbooks make little impact. This single incident in the video happened years ago when some teacher twisted the story and used it as a fable, and the textbook has since been called back by the government. You may want to tear your shirt and cast your stone at the teacher, but really, don't direct your stone at the gov for this incident, and please don't make a headline out of this old news.

That is Fake News and western propaganda! I’m a Chinese Christian and have worshipped in China. I have never seen a Chinese bible where Jesus stoned the adulterous in my life. Show me that bible and I’ll stand to be corrected. In the meantime you are just spreading Chinese hate. Stop your hateful judgement and instead spread the love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
