I know I'll get some hate for this, but I'm pretty sure all the people calling for Marner and Tavares to be moved will miss them when they're gone. We really take these guys for granted, especially Marner. Do Leafs fans not remember the years prior to Marner and JT showing up? Do you honestly remember how painful this team was to watch? They couldn't even get close to making the playoffs. Each year, they were an absolute mess for almost a decade. Be careful what you wish for. The grass isn't always greener on the other side. This team reminds me a ton of Washington through the years leading up to when they finally won. I honestly think these guys will break through within the next few years if they keep trying different combos around this core. I'm aware of how dumb that sounds, but I can definitely see it happening nevertheless. At least a deep run... People also should take some time to realize how friggen hard it is is to actually win the cup and even a few rounds. We always expect the Leafs to win, and whine and cry when they don't. Only 1 team wins. Roughly 30 other teams fail. Not just the Leafs. I'm a long time Leaf fan. I'm miserable too, but I still BeLeaf.

Yes they will miss them I agree. But Marner needs a better team. He's done so much for the leafs but so many idiot delusional leaf fans always blame him

@@realist7934I agree marner is my favourite player as he is the only player on the team that is elite at both ends of the ice the guy had a plus 27 in reg season while playing on the pk where Nylander had plus one when he plays on PP and not the PK

And in playoffs both nylander and marner had plus one where marner played a shutdown role the entire series whether it was against pastrami or the Boston pp leafs fans suck and I hope marner does leave so he can win the cup and watch leafs fans cry for having him walk

Nice to finally hear a couple of comments where they're not blaming the kid.Ridiculous to blame one player for the way the whole team plays.This kid got over 200 points on his first contract. Less than 3 million for 3 years. He's got the most points in the playoffs since,over 600 points in less than 600 games.Great playmaker and you're right, great at both ends.And JT may not score the points he used to but he works hard. I believe Tavares will take a cut to stay. He wants to retire a leaf and if they try to trade Marner I say play out your contract and leave them with nothing. How long did it take Ovechkin to win a cup after he was drafted...13 years.Get a freaking clue people.The kids an amazing talent. One of the hardest trophies to win in sports if not the hardest. I've been following this team for 60 plus years.I know it gets frustrating every year but they're going to break through but they need to keep a talent like Marner.

Leaf fans are high if he thought that was a team, but luck next year 57 years and counting

I'm just wondering......the times that Keefe did call out his star players. But, then walked back on his comments, did that come from Dubas or Shanahan? Was Dubas fired because he wanted to blow up the "Core Four"?

The go to guys need to be the bottom two energy lines. Finesse requires confidence created by pressure brought on by the 3rd and 4th lines

Totally agree, anyone in the NHL knows just how elite this league is. The worst nhl player is 1st line in any other league anywhere in the world.

The whole point of why berube was let go from st Louis was because there wasnt much buy in from his team. Remember when jordan Kyrou was crying in the presser? So to assume he could change things is kind of sensationalist fluff. Id be looking at a new school guy, like a cooper or Maurice type. Berube is a bit dated, idk.
