Lo que describís no es racismo... es la definición exacta de discriminación por clase, es decir, de clasismo. El racismo, por ejemplo, es el que tiene el autor de este video, ya que recibe discriminación por parte de un peruano (indigeno-descendiente) y de un colombiano (afro-descendiente) pero no lo percibe... solo percibió discriminación por parte de los argentinos "blancos" (incluidos los que fueron abiertos y amables). Not racist. More steering towards xenophobia rather than racism. I'm a negrito and I haven't felt racism neither by people nor the authorities. What I did suffer throughout the years was discrimination due to my dress code, which may depict me as a lower social class member. Social discrimination and xenophobia are the thing of Argentina, not racism. Many hate chilean people due to past conflicts such as their negiotiating with Brittish forces during the Malvinas/Falklands war. Others hate on Brazilians because of how passionate both countries are about both sports and games. Other than that, we don't hold serious grudges towards people from other countries. As for social discrimination, this is due to the high rate of delinquency prevalent in Argentina thanks to the high rate of poverty we hold. Many of us had been robbed at least once, so it becomes apparent why. Asking whether we are racists or not is not the right question for this country, I believe

En las epocas anteriores a tanta tecnologia como hoy, en las plazas de los barrios, se podian juntar los que iban a colegio privado con pibes que quizas tenian que salir a pedir comida para llevar a la casa. A jugar toda la tarde al futbol!!! Hoy lamentablemente, las plazas estan para ir a tomar mate o hacer picnic. Hace algunos años nomas casi no se podia, pq te comias un pelotazo de algun pibe xD

Short answer: no. Argentinian society's not actually racist (for the most part), more so classist. It's not about skin color but economic standing, doesn't matter if they're foreigners or not. That's why he didn't get racist comments toward him, he's a tourist aka = has money, therefore he will probably have a good experience. Is it better than being racist? nah, equally as bad, but at the end of the day it's a whole other issue. American culture is filled to the brim with racism, and they're very used to encountering it, so whenever they come down south they think every society operates in the same manner and try to draw parallels to their own. While we do have lots of issues in South America they mostly relate to class, not necessarily race.

While over in the US poc of every economic standing will experience racism at least once, down here it's not about race. at all. It's about the amount of money you have. You said it yourself, "less with disdain" meaning your discrimination is first about race, then about money. Ours just doesn't work like that. Over here, it's almost never about race; you can be white, black, native, asian, the only real divide is money.

My mother was Argentinian and my dad is half black half native and I lived in Argentina as a youth. I experienced more racist behavior in the United States and in Europe than I ever did in Argentina. The fact remains that this myth going around is basically past on by racist individuals who have a complete misconception jealousy and anger over just how beautiful the people and the culture of Argentina is. And it's funny how in every conversation there's always a Mexican who wants to put their face in the mix, I mean literally in Argentina never once that I hear anybody talk negatively about Mexico or Mexicans at all. Unless a sporting event was on, but that's an entirely different beast and nobody is spared. It has nothing to do with the color of your skin or where you're from it has to do whether you're an a****** or just some friendly sporting jousting going on. If you want to take it to a level and get personal, I think Argentina can take it there if you like. But in general it doesn't have to go there.

La única razón por la que sé que hay dominicanos en su país es porque un barbero argentino me dijo que fuera allí porque no sabía cómo cortarme el pelo. Verán, todo esto se podría haber evitado si hubieran hecho la pregunta, pero muchos de ustedes han optado por asumir cosas. Y para que conste, para muchos de los que están descubriendo este video ahora, se filmó en diciembre de 2021, no de 2024, pero aparentemente cada vez que ustedes tienen un gran partido de fútbol mundial, estos videos aparecen, tampoco es mi problema.

What there are people complaining about is people coming only for free hospital care and to study also for free (I'm realy proud to say there are good public schools and good public hospitals wroth travelling here for, but it's not exactly _"free"_ for us :| )

The problem is not of the joba but mainly with universities. As Universities in Argentina are free people fron other countries come to study for free. And use what they have learnt in their country. We are paying for the education of other country basically.

We are in Argentina now!!!!!!!!! what city should I visit next? Updated Please watch the video before you comment about what you heard. Just because certain people might feel away doesn't mean I should be judgmental about the rest of the citizens that live in the same country. I think some people just have a negative out look on life and are quick to pull the card kinda like quick to comment. They said the same thing about other countries I visited. Many Colombians show me hospitality when I was there some cooked for me some invited me to dinner some invited me to their family's homes across the country. when I was in Mexico a man pay for my tacos others showed me the place they lived, when I was in Ecuador the locals volunteer to show me around also an Argentinian man invited me to his house while I was there to hang out. when I was in Vietnam I meet locals who wanted to sit down to get to know me. These are all real videos. With that being said I embrace people who embrace me and for the most part that has been almost everybody I'll come across. although I'm not looking for validation from anybody I will not be spending my time dwelling on the negative when there's so much positive around. I noticed in the comment section a lot of people are leaving their thoughts on the subject but have never even traveled and experienced Argentina first-hand. this is why these videos I am going to be making in the coming days are so important to give you a first-hand look at what it is to live in Argentina and from the looks of it so far after being here for 2 weeks and its not what people think it is. obviously every country has it's negative past including the one you live in now keep that in mind when you watch these videos

I'm from buenos aires and the true is that.. we dont see black people that often, most of us (specially the youth) are not racist, its just rare to see black people and those who are racist are simply ignorants. The main 3 races (and I dare to say only races) we see are white, indigenous descendents and asians, mostly inmigrants from china, taiwan, peru and bolivia. Igualmente los argentinos por mas que digamos muchas cosas, los únicos hermanos son los uruguayos, entonces que no los consideremos hermanos no es la gran cosa, es normal, nadie se siente hermano de nadie en esta nación

@@ACEDTVL which video was filmed in 2001 ?!?!? i'm quite sure not this one... nevertheless, we never built up a reputation of being racist. other nations can't tollerate that we don't share their crimes and atrocities so they try to make us look as bad as them, in their mind it's impossible that a country with "white" mayority has't somehow got rid of their black population, "surely they must have done some awfull thing to them" which ww didn't (yes there where atrocities but not against the black comunity). Argentina has had a small black population for decades now. Nowadays most people here will not show any sign of racism, neither in the past century (mostly). i will keep watching these videos, i hope you enjoyed your stay!

I'm from Argentina and even I can't explain how money works. Just know there are 17 different dollar to pesos variations because of reasons.

Here in Argentina we are not really racist towards blacks. We know you guys are chill. Usually we will just cuss out with other south americans the same way a group of brothers would.

We have Argentines here in South Africa, zero racism problems from them. Great people, plus they share our love for barbecue meats.

Tal cual, en Uruguay pasa lo mismo, de echo a cavani por decirle negrito a un compañero en Inglaterra lo sancionaron. Seguramente debe a ver algún que otro racista pero no al nivel de Sudáfrica, eeuu, inglaterra, brasil etc. De echo tenemos marcha por todo en Argentina, pero no por racismo.

Yo soy africano concretamente de Guinea Ecuatorial. Debo admitir que es gracioso ver como la gente busca ponerle excusas para no afrontar la realidad del racismo y colorismo latente en la sociedad latinoamericana. Senor Matias Van Dijk, disculpe pero su excusa no tiene sentido. Solo la gente que piensa como usted estaria de acuerdo con semejante chorrada. Pensamos atravez del lenguaje y entonces en el, denotamos algunas maneras de como pensamos. El racismo tambien se encuentra en el lenguaje, que se hayan normalizado estas conductas y forma de hablar tan denigrante no quita que no sea malo. El dejar pasar un comentarios o broma racista abre el espacio para que mas gente lo haga y se sienta comoda al hacerlo, y asi se fomenta una de las actitudes mas nefastas del ser humano. La palabra negrito tiene una carga historica muy negativa, aqui todos lo saben. Es una pena que la sociedad latinoamericana sea tan ignorante o es que se hacen los tontos para asi no afrontar la realidad.

Parece que los de USA no pueden entender que Sudamerica es un lugar super diverso con respeto a los razas y grupos étnicos que se encuentran alli. En mi experiencia es mucho mayor el racismo hacia peruanos, bolivianos, paraguayos. Siempre se utiliza el "boliviano" como insulto. Es frustrante. Yo soy de Entre Ríos

In regards to racism, of course there are racist people like everywhere else in the world but for what it's worth I have seen WAY more racism in the US. Also when you hear people using the word "negro" they most likely mean it in a friendly way, remember that Argentina doesn't have a history of enslaving African people so there's not any stigma with using that word. Context is everything, if someone says that word in a menacing way, it's racist. If they say it with a friendly tone, it's 100% not. Big cultural difference, sure, but that's what it is. People call each other "negro" even though none of them are lol.

La respuesta es NO. Los Argentinos no somos racistas. Quien diga lo contrario sencillamente miente. Este bendito país recibe con los brazos abiertos a los extranjeros. Estudian gratuitamente pues la Universidad es pública, se atienden gratuitamente en Hospitales porque la Salud es pública y gratuita. Aquí jamás se ha perseguido a seres humanos por color o religión.

I am Paraguayan in general and I have not experienced discrimination, perhaps because I have an appearance very similar to a White Argentine, but I have experienced some Xenophobia all in Buenos Aires but Argentines from the interior of the country are much more humble

As an African-American I can tell you I never encountered any racism or bigotry because of the color of my skin. I met some unpleasant people but they were just nasty but it had nothing with my skin color. I used my debit card to purchase most items. In Argentina we are not racists, there is racism as there is in other places in the world, sadly. But we are a country that welcomes any foreigner. They are given access to free education and healthcare is free too. All cultures and ethnicities of the world are welcome. What if there is usually a lot of discrimination towards low-income sectors. It is normal to use racist insults with people from this sector of society. And it is something that is difficult for them to accept. But that racism does not represent us. Sadly the internet is full of young people (Argentines) who take "black humor" and twist its meaning. They use "dark humor" but they are really being racist, with the blindfold of "dark humor" in their eyes. I hope that awareness can be created on this issue. And that these groups of people here stop making the country look bad in front of the rest of the world. As an Argentine, I apologize for those inappropriate comments that may reach you, they are ignorant people

@@ballonstudios7799 exacto, yo directamente sostengo que no hay racismo en Argentina porque acá no hay mucha distinción entre tu color de piel y tu lugar en la sociedad: hay nietos de alemanes que son villeros y marrones en el poder. Cosa que no pasa en otros países de latam. No así, hay muchísima xenofobia, pero es algo que no distingue color, somos xenofóbicos con los ingleses y con los bolivianos, es indistinto.
