At the beginning what you said about treating them like a random person in the store I had to remember Taes post when he came back from a family vacation and said thank you for acting like you don't know me and that one girl who saw Namjoon at a museum and didn't do anything but hum a bts song while passing him and not even looking at him, or another one who hid her bts keychain behind her back when she saw namjoon😂😂

Lots of k-ARMYs (Korean ARMYs) said that Taehyung and Jimin are the hardest/scariest to approach due to their own untouchable aura. They seem intimidating at first 😅 Jimin even was called Ice Prince both by fans and some industry people due to his super cold and non-approachable aura (even during fan events), especially when he's "in the wild". It's like he oozes ethereal power, making it hard to even look at him. But then if he himself approaches you, he's the warmest kindest sunshine ever, and makes everyone comfortable around him 😊

I think Jimin just has very powerful natural charisma and probably uses that in public settings as a shield/defense. It can work both ways, to attract or to repel. He has a powerful tool and he uses it to his benefit.

Fun Fact: OK...the outfits that you didn't like at time code 7:29 The were promoting the song "Idol" which combined Korean and African cultures The suits worn at Jimmy Fallon (and especially in the music video) were made out of African fabrics (including Kente and Ankara material) The song "Idol" was influenced by Afro house music and performed with traditional Korean instruments. The choreography was also heavily influences by African culture and featured the "Gwara Gwara" dance made popular by Rhianna. (There is so much more to go into about "Idol" but those are the main points)....Love this reaction and Thanks so much for posting it!!!

As only an English speaker, imagine being put on tv in Korea with people talking and joking and you don't really have clue what is being said. Just put yourself in that position for a moment. Even if you have someone briefly translating some of the comments or questions (like RM does), you are not getting many words and probably no context much of the time. I do to as well as a westerner. However I also have the outward visibility to see that some of these adherences to respect for elders can harm one physically or mentally or emotionally and it being pawned off on culture and a hierarchy structure can also be repressive. Again I find many parts of the respect they show in Asian cultures to be beautiful. But when they are practices that are purely based in dominance I don’t like it.

There was a very nice tweet 4-5 months back about how bts making friends with people outside of the music SK industry seems to be a lot easier because there isn't the factor of competition, intimidation when interacting, jealousy or possible bitterness at bts being the one on top because their main occupations between bts and them aren't clashing. For example their variety show friends, actors, friends who have nothing to do with the entertainment industry like their highschool friends etc. and even senior artist/indie artists who r secure in themselves and their friendship with the tannies like epik high/Tablo, tiger jk, crush, jimins friend from their song With you, Tae with peakboy and I would list others but my brain is failing me rn lol And honestly the major shift of ppl changing their behavior when it comes to bts is just other kpop/idol groups. like for example khiphop doesn't care(that is more so because many of them r cocky, self centered b*stards like jay park but I'm not gonna dive into that now but hope you get my point) about what the fck BTS is doing. It just was painfully obvious from seeing how awards shows in Korea were after 2016/2017 and the shift in demeanor from nearly ALL of their peers. like y'all were cheering having fun etc when bts were smaller than you but suddenly after that all of y'all r stoned faced, expressionless or you don't show up to the award shows at all because you and ur company know you'll go home empty handed tonight while BTS rightfully take a lot of the trophies home😭😭🥴💀 I would go on and on about this the final thing I'm gonna say is the tannies r gonna be friends with whoever they like and keep good ppl next to them and if someone does screw them over it will their loss(still hope nothing like that happens) but at least the boys will have one less backstabber around them. One thing about them is that they'll always protect their peace and I live that for them

They know they're worldwide and get recognised everywhere. They've even taken to Weverse to thank ARMY for not approaching or straight up ignoring them when they've been on vacation. When Jin enlisted there's an audio clip of journalists talking and being surprised at the very low number of fans outside the military base. One of them says that it's because they asked ARMYs to stay away out of respect and safety for all the other famillies. The others were very surprised that the fandom listened to them and all I could think was: Dude, respect goes both ways. Otherwise it's just fear. 🙄 (Btw, Taeyang's even got a wife and all... 😉)

Then if they end up seeing me later, they were like hey what's up and me being me, I'm like hi, depending on language barrier. Cause in my mind I'm like when these people aren't on stage or at a fan signing, they just want to breathe lol so when they realized I was just going to let them be, I saw them visibly relax, which made me happy This is a long rant but yes, treat them as people

I remember you saying you haven't had good experiences with kimchi so far in multiple videos, (if you've had a good experience between now and then I've missed that video) but kimchi jjigae might be a decent intro experience for you. Josh from Korean Englishman has said on multiple occasions that if raw kimchi is too much for a person, they should try cooked kimchi before giving up on it. Even most Koreans will cook the kimchi in some fashion once it starts getting too sour (not sour bad, sour intense). Some people grill kimchi or have it in a jeon (savory, most westerners will call it a pancake, but since you cook it's actually closer to a very thin/flat fritter), or kimchi fried rice.

I think it's difficult to gauge BTS' approachability based on the limited footage and interactions ARMY and the public are able to witness. My asocial ass could never meet someone and immediately have a comfortable conversation and make small talk. I know celebrities are trained or just have more experience meeting and greeting new people, and even the most introverted celeb can probably pull it off. But still, a lot of the footage we're seeing show BTS interacting with people they just met. I see that and think it's totally normal because I have to know someone for a long time and interact with them regularly to get a sense of their humor and feel comfortable in being myself around them. Jimin and Taeyang, there's the layer of hero worship from Jimin for Taeyang, the layer of Taeyang knowing how huge a celeb Jimin is now despite being younger, and just the fact that they probably didn't interact much face-to-face for the creation of the song and the filming of the MV is the longest/closest interaction they've had, so it's gonna be first date questions even if you wanna make it seem like there's a ton of chemistry because the cameras are rolling and fans wanna see how close you are and that you're BFFs. It sounds like a nightmare to me since I hate meeting new people and would spend the next 6 months asking if Taemin thought I was weird for talking about Kimchi.

Braggadocio is the wrong word for just being normal. Having to be son humble one cannot even drink without being made to feel like they are lesser is a power trip plain and simple. It’s one thing to show humility and grace to an elder but something’s I’ve seen are just show a power dominance.

@@Jurnalist_ I get it, but this is their culture. Western culture leans too heavily on arrogance, Eastern on hierarchy. There are both positives & negatives both sides, though not up to us to say which is better.

@@Department_of_Justice that’s like the entire job is to share my actual opinion not just let things go because it’s a culture I am not from. I can understand it’s culture and still have a opinion that disparages it for what I think it is.

Hope you like them if you check them out😊. Some songs I recommend are muddy Waters, God's menu, maniac, 3 racha, charmer, venom and zone 🙂

I will be honest I have tried listening to them but haven't found a song for me. However, God's Menu and Case 143 almost made it on my list but not quite.
