I have never smelled/owned the original. I have only ever owned the extrait and DO NOT pick up any type of cotton candy nor sugary or gourmand type notes. What I Do get from the extrait is the EXACT SAME SCENT as the bath and body works In The Stars.... Does the original BR540 smell different than the extrait??

For the br540 consistent users: layer with br540 lotion, dossier, Burberry her, and oakcha to stretch your BR!!! I usually Start off with a lotion, then dossier or oakcha dupe, put a bit of Burberry her roller on my clothes, then finish with br540 on my neck and wrists. Nonstop compliments from all types of people!!

Best way to layer this is to buy the Arabian perfume oil dupe of it and wear both, it makes it last all day and into the next.

Can't be over rated when it cost 400 bucks and most people still don't wear fragrance at all lol

The funny thing is that I HATE sweet gourmand scents but I love BR540. The saffron and that plasticky note are addictive af. Reminds me of opening a fresh plastic toy as a child.

Me too, but it’s probably because baccarat rouge is not a gourmand at all. It’s just a nice airy fresh woody, but yet sweet fragrance with a mysterious vibe to it. If you look at the notes there is really no gourmand note, the sweetness of baccarat rouge comes mainly from the saffron flower

Absolutely true..its a friggin MASTERPIECE in every way!

I love this scent so much but the price is craygee!! I just can’t bring myself to buy it in this economy. I need the money to buy eggs and gf bread which are now luxury items 🤣

For a total of $27, I ordered samples from the Francis Kurkdjian site.

The extrait version smells different on everyone. That’s the beauty of it. Replicas are not gonna smell the same.

Both this and extrait are worth all other fragrances in my collection and their weight in gold.

Haven’t smelled the extrait but the original is simple and simply niiiiiiiice

For Guys, Layer BR540 with Afnan 9PM. Job Done. You can also get BR540 Clone from Fragrance World for £15 in the UK

I like the extrait a little more than the original. Definitely agree, the uniqueness has been taken away.

Well said. I have mostly seen this in women where they throw hate and negative reviews bec the perfume is either expensive that they cant afford it or becaise they dont want anyone else ro own the perfume that they love. I see this alot in girls and i tell them to shut thier mouth and buy beyonce or zara perfumes. Hahah

I went to get a facial once and I recognized the scent on the girl as Cloud by Ariana Grande so I asked her if that’s what she was wearing. She said no, she was wearing BR540 and she wasn’t aware Cloud was so similar and she couldn’t believe she spent all that money on something that is no longer unique.

I smelled the AG Cloud before the real deal and hated it, so I decided not to bother smelling the real deal. Then on a random day I decided to try it, fell in love with the fragrance and now as of today I own it. 😂

I HAVEN'T smelled ANYTHING that is TRULY spot ON to the ORIGINAL enough for ME to SAY it's NOT worth IT!!!

The magic i experience still every single time, I apply my much loved Baccarat Rouge 540 mainly the EdP, I never got with any other fragrance i ever tried, and i smelled so many niche, designer fragrances, so it always will be in my collection...

It’s worth the money, but it’s something I wouldn’t wear casually- for those special occasions. For casual wear, I go with Hugo Boss, or Nicole Miller.. a little less than casual, but more than special occasions, I have Givenchy.

Not worth the money both...one smells like medicine and the other makes me stink reminded me of that nursing home odor.

I also dislike gourmands in general..but Thomas Kosmala No 4 gives everything I expected and wanted from BR 540 and Im obsessed ❤

I read on a fragrantica comment that too much of the ambroxian that’s in BR540 will overload your scent receptors and make you anosmic (nose blind) to it. They suggested to TAKE A BREAK from wearing the scent (like a month), and when you go back to it, spray less so it doesn’t overload your scent receptors

But yeah, it’s not just you. The first time I “smelled” it, my cousin put her wrist right up to my nose and I couldn’t even smell anything. There are two types of fragheads: A. Those who wear perfume for others (don’t mind going nose blind as long as others think they smell good) B. Those who wear perfume for themselves (loves to keep smelling their own perfume throughout the day) BR540 is not for group B!!

A little too feminine. I like Mancera Instant Crush better. Although it can be perceived feminine, the dry-down makes it more masculine than 540.

I wanted to love this fragrance like everyone else but unfortunately ON ME it smelled HORRIBLE!! My husband hated on me. He told me to give it away and never used it again 😅 honestly it smelled so bad on me 🥴

I know someone who uses this but only lasts for 1-2 hrs and has to use a lotion with it just to maxxed the longevity

Absolutely!! The OG Baccarat Rouge 540 EdP and Extrait de Parfum, there is just no other fragrance withvthis magic out there, and i also own 2 clones (Club de Nuit Untold, and Amber Oud Ruby Edition) for everyday use, and the OG's for special occasions.....

I love perfume and this is one of the most horrific scents I've ever smelled. I don't get even a hint of sweetness. Just bug spray, or dentist office meets cheap disinfectant.

The unisex or female version of Creed Aventus for men. The hype is on that level. I won't be surprised if MFK has a anniversary edition of Baccarat Rouge 540 in the future just like Creed Aventus.

Im constantly stopped at the store or at work wanting to know what i’m wearing . 8/10 for me ❤

@@ducksauce0074 extrait is usually stronger then parfum. Its something like eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and extrait strength wise. So extrait is stronger thus better projectivity and smell

Dossier's is a little less sweet to me and the scent dissipates quicker. A better BR540 dupe than Cloud.

Can you recommend a non sweet or less version of this perfume? I HATE sweet perfume but love the smell of this.

I came to see her thoughts because I bought a 10ml sample off etsy of this, I've used my friends once and didn't like it then but thought why not try it again since everyone else seems to like it. Still not worth the hype to me at least way better 100 perfumes out there this is mid for over 300 😂

Is baccarat reformulated in the past? And when i Order on the MFK Website get i old batchcodes or new?

I really love it on its own, but honestly, I find it too common because of all the replicas. What I do now is add a spray in a Strawberry Pound Cake by Bath and Body and that works perfectly for me and my body chemistry. It keeps the sweetness of the Sugar from BR540 + the sweetness of the B&BW but the dry down of saffron and ambergris is still awesome❤️. PS, longevity: extreme. I can still smell BR540 on my clothes the next day. I tried doing Tom Ford: Lost Cherry with it but 540 killed the cherry. 🙊 Just didn't work for me.
