    Hi, Sabrina! Thanks for sharing your experiences as an immigrant to Argentina. Although there are xenophobic people in every country, it seems like you've had far more positive experiences than negative. I suppose that the Argentinians remember that their grandparents or parents were immigrants, so they are open minded about accepting new people. How do you think it is socially? Can immigrants make local friends, or do they mostly have other immigrants as friends? Thanks for another great video!

    Argentina got my attention when I watched a video about Javier Milei. I'm retired in the USA & I don't know if I want to continue living here, depends on the election in November. Spanish is my wife's first language & I speak a little. I think I would learn it fast if I have a chance to practice it.

    Argentina is a nice country, but if you consider moving there just because its current government, remember that politics in Latin America changes very very fast. It will be no surprise if in the next term another "Hugo Chavez socialist" comes into power. This upside down happened before in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay... So it may be frustrating for you.

    I hope that you have more videos like this that address the current economic and political realities in the personal way that you do. I’m thinking of retiring to Argentina. I was an exchange student in Tandil back in the late 70s during the Junta and loved the people, the culture and the beautiful landscapes that is Argentina from Iguazu to Ushuaia. Great video. I look forward to future posts.

    With a new govt. in power and extreme inflation, do people get wage increases to keep up? Is it more dangerous in BA now? We are travelling in March 2024 and our airbnb 3 br. Apt in Ricoletta area was in $US. 4100.00 for 20 nights. Isnt that pricy for Argentina today?

    Jesus, I would say that you DEFINITELY paid a very expensive price for that Airbnb. A regular person in Argentina wouldn't be able to pay that AT ALL. Regarding your trip, I wouldn't say the city has gotten super dangerous, no, I still walk around everywhere and I take public transportation. I would say that you just have to be a little bit on the lookout for anything if you are walking around at night, but I think that's also a general statement in most major cities in the world. Recoleta is a great neighborhood though. And people do get wage increases, but whether they actually keep up with inflation or not, really depends on the company. Usually they don't.

    Eso es por que Argentina se considera un pueblo trasplantado, básicamente los argentinos no existen. Están los pueblos originarios que son casi inexistentes (hay cosas feas de la historia argentina por que paso eso pero bueno, quedo en el pasado) básicamente el país se formo con gente que vino de otros lugares. te dejo la cita exacta. El antropólogo brasileño Darcy Ribeiro incluye a la Argentina dentro de los «pueblos trasplantados» de América, junto con Uruguay, Canadá y Estados Unidos (Ribeiro, Darcy. Las Américas y la Civilización (1985). Buenos Aires:EUDEBA, pp. 449 ss.);

    Argentina was a mixed bag for me. Most people were incredibly kind and gracious. I appreciated them very much. However, there were 2 or 3 very ugly situations that you simply have to expect and swallow in Buenos Aires as rare as they are. These are things that are worse then I have experienced in the USA even. The deal breaker for me was the women. They tended to be entitled and kind of embittered, perhaps because of the economic situation. The higher the class of the girl, the more embittered she presented. Go figure.....

    Hey Criss! I think Argentina is one of the most open minded countries in South America, if I am not mistaken it was the first one to legalize gay marriage. I think the reply you got before was a well-intentioned comment, btw. Just trying to express how the LGBTQ community doesn't face persecution here like it does in other countries! Although I am sure you can have bad experiences every now and then... It's definitely a rare occurence and not the norm!

    @@TheWizardArtist No hay racismo en Argentina porque la raza no forma parte ni de la discusión pública ni polítca en el país. Si no hay leyes segregacionistas, no hay razón para que el tema de la raza sea un tema de preocupación. EEUU es todo lo contrario. Ahora individuos racistas hay en todo el mundo.
