Marty Ochs and Jeff Harris from Mo's Speed Shop remote tuning my 2001 Mustang GT 4.6 2V with all the bolt-ons like BBK Long tube headers, BBK Catted H-Pipe, Flowmaster 40 mufflers, full 2.5" exhaust to 3" tips, Steeda Underdrive pulleys, C&L Plenum, BBK 70mm throttle body (ported and polished), JLT fenderwell CAI, PI intake manifold, Jeg’s aluminum driveshaft, Spec Stage 2 clutch with all new tranny bearings (Ford TOB, Ford Pivot Stud, Ford Clutch Fork Lever, KMJ 3G 200amp alternator, Maximum Motorsports Clutch cable, firewall adjuster, aluminum quadrant), Steeda tri-ax shifter, new Motorcraft fuel filter, Walbro 255 Fuel Pump and module assembly, stock 19LB injectors, and Todd Warren COMP Cams (230/230 Duration @ .050, .545/.525 Lift, on a 110 LSA with a 1.5 degree ground-in advance), 3.73 gears, Steeda Tri-Ax shifter, maximum motorsport heavy duty rear lower control arms, maximum motorsport full length subframe connectors.
I was running a Brenspeed tune before and it did just fine but wanted to REALLY dial in my tune so I went with Marty and Jeff’s Magic.

Car is still running like a champ! Been revving it all the way to 6500 RPMs when I race or do hard pulls on the street and car takes it no problem. No CEL or anything. Highly recommend REMOTE/STREET TUNE by Marty Ochs, a spot on tune is a safe tune to drive on and beat on regularly.

2/20/23
Car has been through a very COLD & HARSH winter, still runs like a charm and drives smooth as could ever be. No CEL or anything abnormal. Even Todd Warren recommends a MARTY OCHS TUNE!
I will say that this car hates cold weather upon startup, you must let the car idle until wideband gets out of the 11/12 range or else it’ll stall if you drive it too early without keeping the revs up, but I think that’s common sense lol. Cammed car things I guess.

No issues at all. Car runs amazing. Been street racing it and never had a CEL come on.

    I also have the same car identically, but mine is silver with the 3650 I just moved back here to Chicago from Arizona and was trying to find the right people to work on the stang so thank you for this info man it helps a lot. Keep up the videos you’re very good at breaking down everything and explaining all the work that’s been done to your car.

    Hello Angle this is great information!! I'm in the process of changing out my ,4.6l 2v 1999 mustang convertible engines cam's, pistons & rods (10.24:1 compression), from TW, BBK long tube headers, BBK 73mm throttle body, bbk cold air intake, BBK 300 Iph fuel pump. I'm in line this April to get my short block engine and heads worked on. My machinists looks over the decks, short block and I'm hoping these items only needs cleaning and cylinder honing. Fingers crossed :) In the interim I'm looking at what I need to do for a tune and this video helps me out a lot.. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING !!!! Ingo 💪👍😁

    Hey thanks bud! Getting these kinds of comments is exactly why I make these videos, to help the world out along with the mustang enthusiasts out there. Your build sounds AWESOME! I’m in the process of building another 2v 02 Vert manual with similar stuff to yours like pistons (about 10:5:1 ish compression), rods, TW cams degreeing myself, and I’m hoping to just throw all the parts at it, gapping the rings for boost and sending it lol. 650-700whp is the goal through E85 and a 70/70mm turbo. I just don’t have time for all that machine shop bizznizz tbh, of course other than needing bottom end balanced. It can be done, bores can be tapered a tiny bit as long as they meet certain tolerances, but I doubt my or your bores are out of round. You never know though. DIY Backyard hone it and send it is what I’m doing haha. I still have the car shown in the video, and it will forever stay NA.

    @@McLovinsFunhouse That sounds awesome bro! If your going to turbo charger or use a super charger. I believe you need less compression not more. You might want to double check that 😉.

    @@ingopedersen2909 Yeah that’s true to some extent. You can squeeze out higher compression with E85 fuel safely but not exactly the other way around when using 93 octane for boosted applications, well, it depends, many have ran 10:5:1 no problems on 93 with boost. I think we were all taught wrong lol. Times are different now. I’ve been told that even 11:1 was safe with boost & E85 on our motors but I don’t want to chance it since I’m not looking for every squeeze of power I can get… better to be on the safe side, especially since I plan on doing a backyard build haha.

    I appreciate it! Modding these 2 valve mustangs is really expensive and not that rewarding but damn they sound good af. Nobody seems to hate it and yeah they sure are fun cars. I took my stang in this vid to the drag strip just Friday night (2 days ago) and did like 10 passes on drag radials and I didn't break nothing. I do a lot of hard ass launches and pulls on the street, but the mustang keeps asking for more like it's nothing haha, reliability at it's finest for a daily driver.

    Do it! I'm sure nothing beats a good ol' dyno tune but I ain't got the money to afford that, street tune is the way for street performance imo.

    I’m sold gonna be doing this on my 2010 5.4 F-150 with Ford hot rod cams. About how long were you driving around on the phone with them doing the tune? How much the Todd Warren cams run you?

    I was driving around for like a total of 15-20 min. He started remote tuning the car and the idle in my garage then he said “we’re ready to roll, go somewhere and make a pull”. I proceeded to reverse out of my garage and took me like 5 min to find a spot, finally did pull #1 done, he said make another one, 3 minutes later another pull, he said pull over to upload the tune. Done. He said “if you ever have issues then let me know, I gave you my personal cell #”. Have not had a single issue to this day. Todd Warren cams for SOHC 4.6/5.4 are like $850 for both so like $900ish or so after taxes depending on where you are

    @@McLovinsFunhouse Thank you for the response. One more when you got the cams did you just kinda tell Todd what you had in mind with the car and he made you a set based off of that. That’s a good price for custom cams not that much more than what I paid.

    @@scrap_metal_magic Yep, I told him my goals and he grinded the cam to my specs. You also should mention if you want to upgrade springs or not and if you are going to degree the cams or not. These cams in the video are on stock valve springs and also not degreed.

    I believe it’s $225 flat via Paypal (family and friends so nobody pays the fees) as of right now. One octane type.

    Yep, $225 just the for tune, not including all the other stuff like SCT X4 ($400 new but you can get them for $200 used & unmarried), laptop, sct firewire, and all that jazz. I believe you could also buy a SCT X4 directly from Marty with tune already loaded but it’ll be an email tune and not a street tune like how it was done in the vid.
