I work 8-9 hour shifts at a restaurant. If I dont have my 5 hour it's pretty damn hard to do my job. Everyone who works there is hopped up on some type of caffeinated drink.

Hi Dr. Berg, taurine is a sedative to help stabilize the heart from misfiring the contraction vs the relaxation ratio. The heart has a lot of taurine as an important amino acid. The reason why manufacturers add taurine is to avoid the heart from misfiring thus reducing the risk of heart attacks. Without it, you would probably see more heart attacks than are currently reported.

54 people die due to smoking each hour 148 people die in road crashes each hour Another 2,283 - 5,707 are injured or disabled in road crashes each hour You have a better chance of dying from smoking or driving your car Just like any pick-me-up, there are side effects, moderation is the best way to go here, dont chug 2 or more in one go. I've been drinking 5-hour and have the best way to go: 1) No more than 1 per day. 2) 3 per week is in your best interest. 3) drink 1/2 the bottle in place of coffee the other half around noon or lunch. 4) DO NOT drink after 3pm, or good luck getting to sleep.

Kale Mercer this is the best comment I've seen so far. I too take it as a pick me up from time to time for pre-workout and only drink half a bottle and I've never had any issues with it. I had more problems with coffee than I ever had with 5 hour energy. I believe moderation really is key.

I drink 2-3 extra strength 5 hour energies with 2 gallons of water & 5 freshly squeezed lemons every day. I’ve been doing this every single day for years, I haven’t missed a day of doing this in over 3 years now . I’ve had a full labs done from several doctors, even got my DNA checked. Im perfectly healthy. I have no health issues. The only issue I struggle with is OCD. I wish I could stop doing this. I guess as long as I’m healthy I’ll keep doing it.

I work a third shift truck loading job and I typically take half a bottle after I wake up from a 2 hour nap before going to work. By the time I get to work I can tell I'm ready to go and get stuff done. Before I started taking 5 hour I went to work feeling sluggish and lousy even with my naps. Never once have I experienced any symptoms, likely because my body can break down caffeine easily compared to some who may get the jitters.

I had to eventually stop because my heart started feeling uncomfortable and the last day it felt like I was fixing to have a heart attack. Now all I have to do is take them 2 days in a row and my heart will feel uncomfortable. I think they need to take them off the shelves. The exact combination of ingredients are no good.

Shawn Redfield I agree with the previous comment. Since going Keto/ultra low carb, I started taking magnesium and potassium supplements. I had insomnia for decades and now I actually feel tired at bedtime and want to sleep. Working night shift I can understand the difficulty. You may want to try taking these supplements an hour or so before you need to go to sleep to see if that helps. Turning off lights and drawing blinds closed to hide the sunlight. Try to go to sleep and wake up at the same time, even on the weekends. Best of luck to you.

Hi Dr. Berg, I've seen your videos talking about things like l-carnitine and other ingredients but not as they are found in energy drinks. Without endorsing or calling out certain energy drink brands, can you do a video on if someone were to make use of consuming energy drinks, what to look for and what to stay away from, like "look at ones that contains this this this" and 'stay away from ones that contain that that that", again without endorsing certain ones and not bagging on sugar sugar sugar content which we know they are all bad anyway in that sense Thanks

I agree that using it to stay up longer is not the best, but they help a lot when you wake up. You can take half or a full bottle when you wake and be alert and focused before you pee. I find it helps me become productive very quickly. I am sure others use coffee for this, but this is much quicker, and I don't like coffee. If you take it early, it should not impact your sleep. Taking caffeine late might not prevent sleep originally when you are tired, but even if you fall asleep you will wake up too soon.

I personally drink one every day but I will not take more than one. Plus, I have found that if I take a 30 minute nap after taking one it works wonders

I do my dance work out approx. 5 days a week for one hour each day. I use the 5 hour energy shot right before I start working out and it starts working right away. It gives me such a great boost of energy. Makes me feel like going in hard. Great for those days when you feel tired and lazy and not really in the mood to work out. For me it wears off in about an hour.

I'll use one every great once in awhile. Like... 1 every two or three months. I don't think that is a bad thing. I think if you live on these things... yea, I agree with the Doc.

Wow! Shedding some light in my situation! I have been taking a lemonade 5 hour once a day for the last three years since I had my children. I am always so tired, I feel like I have chronic Fatigue some days, I always thought it was because of my kids, they are close in age and ones always getting up as I’ve finally got the other back down! (MOM LIFE BABY) I think the five hour might be the culprit! Well I already gave up Sugar, Carbs, and cigarettes this year! Why not 5 Hours! Hhhhh go 2019 🖕😡
