    "Starting out, J.A.R.V.I.S. was just a natural language UI." At 1:29 we get a real clear reminder how advanced Jarvis is in regards to human emotion gauging through the medium of a speech. Tony asks Jarvis a clear question, something most people would try answer. Thing is, Jarvis understand Tony so much he can recognize when Tony is just speaking to air his thoughts and figure out a problem.

    deathbunny I've actually done some research, and exodus is an xmen villain, that's connected to apocalypse. He has powers of telepathy, telekinesis and teleportation, among many more. Since this movie is so full of Easter eggs for future films like the location of Wakanda and Atlantis, and even latveria, a country that dr doom runs, so it wouldn't be impossible for them to be referring to this exodus, even though fox owned him at the time.

    Even before Endgame I always loved how this movie tells us that whenever Tony's deep in thought he snaps his fingers, I always loved this detail about this scene and I would rewatch it a lot when I was younger- it was my favorite scene because of it and that's how I decided I'd learn how to snap, so I could look/sound cool like him, heh. In Favreau's films Tony is always tapping his fingers or snapping them (especially when thinking) and I really wish that detail had carried over to the new movies. Ofc, these days it just feels like a fantastic bit of continuity.

I kay be wrobg about this, but I'm pretty sure plutonium was never found or created in the natural universe until we built a bomb that made it. Smash uraniun together and you get a bunch of plutonium. Same for most of the super heavy elements on the bottom two bars at the bottom of the periodic table. Many of theose elements like Einstinium, Americium, 118, ect, can not be created in anyway in the natural universe. They can only be synthesized in labs for split seconds until they destroy themselves into smaller elements under their own heat. Its not 'pure creation' as much as it is 'assembling'.

    This is such a better scene than the one in the movie. 1stly it shows Tony as smarter than Jarvis which is of course always a good thing and 2ndly it shows the stark pavillion and its elements as electrons more coherently. The colour coding really helps you see whats staying in the rendered 3d model and whats being removed.

    This scene would make much better sense than the original cuz even Jarvis would have to run simulations on the new element before it can reach the conclusion that it could serve as a legit substitute. But in the movie Jarvis just jumped right to it which is only good for saving a bit of time and kicking up the tempo to the next scene. This is a good scene.

    Actually for an atom as massive as this neutron number would not equal the proton number - it is the neutron number in larger atoms that determines stability of the nucleus, thus Howard Stark's neutron count would help Tony know how to create a stable new element.

    The idea of discovering a new element like this is hard to follow in the suspension of disbelief. The difference between every element is just the atomic number. It's like discovering higher numbers. Obviously there's the idea of finally having a method to synthesize it, or just having a good use of it, but it'd be easier to follow to say he found a different structure of lithium or zinc or something, akin to the concept of deuterium being essentially a heavier version of hydrogen. Current "undiscovered" elements are just so dense and unwieldy that they don't form or don't hold structure long enough to be studied, even when made artifically. Correct me where I'm wrong, chemists :)

    Perhaps his had just showed him the path to the "island of nuclear stability". That's the main issue with making new elements. We get a lot of highly unstable elements however theoretically once ou get past all these unstable versions, we will eventually reach a stable atom

  • @jonnyb70

    @jonnyb70

    it's not so much whether you can discover a higher number, it's like you said, the method of synthesizing it. There's a critter called Californium-232 that's apparently the most expensive element in existence because it decays so rapidly. They can MAKE it but it ain't cheap. Same thing here, I suspect. You have to have a reason for the thing to exist in the first place to need to manufacture it.

  • @ricksaburai

    @ricksaburai

    6 жыл бұрын

    Obviously it doesn't work as simply put as in the movie, but following the suspension of disbelief, one could assume he synthesized a new, heavy element structured in a stable matrix. For instance, the heaviest known element is Ununoctium, with an atomic mass of 294. In theory, heavier elements than that could be made with significant cost, energy and would decay almost instantly. Let's say Stark found a way to organize the nuclear matter in a very stable state, with an efficient method, and thus "created" a new element with a mass of 300. That in itself implies that, not only he was able to synthesize the heaviest element, he also had to come up with a stable isotope (like you mentioned deuterium) to be even able to use it. It's quite the feat.

    I kind of hope there is a moment like this between Parker and Stark in the future. Like, I think Marvel will end up using "Exodus" as a way to introduce the X-Men, and it would be really cool if Peter was searching Stark files and come across Tony discovering or documenting the studies in relation to Exodus, but never went public about it. And in a way, he teaches Peter about the X-Men and how they came to be. Then Peter make some comment like "It's been over 10 years now...still the smartest man in the room." .....or something like that.

    It's replicated tesseract energy. Howard got ahold of both the tesseract and Hydra's weapons, which were powered by it, and thus was able to figure out and analyze its outlandish molecular structure...just not able to synthesize it. The arc reactor is a somewhat primitive version of a replicated tesseract (notice that Hydra used oversized arc-like reactors to store the energy for their weapons), but being based on palladium, it had the side effect of being extremely toxic when in contact with Tony's bloodstream. While the whole thing of the schematics is kind of farfetched, the concept of the element isn't all that crazy, and fits the rest of the established marvel lore perfectly. (revisiting the older movies, it's amazing just how well many concepts that would be properly introduced later were already connected and established)

    I love how absolutely no one, not even die hard fans understand what element he just “discovered”. And no you didn’t know either you just googled it rn.

    science mumbo jumbo aside ...It is really fascinating to watch RDJ do holographic scenes. he does something with his hands and somehow makes this shit believable. its amazing.

    This should have been the one left in the movie, it showed him as a relatable person figuring out an issue, taking time small steps and intuition as he moves forward.

    Andrew Whitcomb basically it's Howard's imitation of an unlimited power source.. being that the tesseract is the space stone..it's power and potential was and still quite possibly is impossible to replicate..if you notice during avengers when tony gets the avengers brief..he pauses and looks at the tesseract.. because it's very similar radiance..this combined with the audio comparison...if you listen closely..hydras weapons in captain America.. powered by the tesseract..have the same sound as iron man pulse canon and chest blast... coincidence maybe..
