I went to the first DC show in 2019 and Bruce sorta but didn't give it away when he said welcome to the legacy of the beast tour where we will not play any new songs. Then covid hit 6 months later and a year after that they release this song. I guess the writing was on the wall lol

Saying this with heavy heart but its time they retire on a high note, you can clearly see Bruce struggling, the pressure is put on them by the record labels and the promotion deals to meet the targets in their contracts, i dont want them to have a bad run the end and walk into the sunset with a mediocre ending.🔥

I think it's a combination of the audio not picking up the crowd that well, and the fact that it's like the 5th consecutive time Iron Maiden is the main headliner in Rock in Rio's day of Metal. Also, Iron has been touring throughout Brazil for the past days, so maybe a lot of people were there for Dream Theater.

Riff principale leggermente diverso dalla versione studio? Preferisco l'originale, ma è una sottigliezza...resta sempre un gran pezzo con assoli ancora migliori. Comunque una domanda Fabio, cosa ne pensi del fatto che abbiano deciso di inserire ben tre pezzi da Senjutsu nella setlist di quest'anno invece della sola Writing on the Wall? Non c'è il rischio che il prossimo tour inizi con qualcosa di già sentito (non da noi italiani comunque 😁)? Insomma, credo che nel tour dell'anno prossimo suoneranno al massimo altri 3 nuovi pezzi (Darkest Hour, The Parchment e Hell on Earth)... non sarebbe stato meglio riservare Senjutsu e Stratego per il tour apposito del nuovo album in modo tale da non sentire concerti a metà uguali rispetto a quest'anno? Io avrei lasciato Where Eagles Dare e al posto di Senjutsu, sempre a tema guerra, avrei ripescato una Paschendale ad esempio (opener Aces High ovviamente, Bruce a fine concerto non ce la fa più a cantarla). A meno che l'anno prossimo inizino con Caught Somewhere in Time, ma la vedo poco probabile...

Ciao Alessandro, alla base di tutto c'è secondo me la consapevolezza da parte loro che molto tempo (causa pandemia) è stato perso, e questo "compromesso" con praticamente un blocco dedicato al nuovo album la vedo molto in quell'ottica ("abbiamo un album uscito lo scorso anno e registrato 3 anni fa, non è un crimine presentarne circa un terzo già in un tour che sulla carta è antologico"). Dopotutto possono fare ampiamente come gli pare, e lo hanno appunto fatto (è una cosa inedita, per loro, questa di integrare 3 brani di un nuovo album in un tour di per sè antologico). Io non credo che questa discreta spruzzata di nuovo disco nella setlist di quest'anno pregiudichi in ogni caso ciò che accadrà nel 2023. Probabilmente risentiremo tutte e 3 le canzoni presentate quest'anno (TWOTW è già un classico, Stratego è diretta e funziona live, Senjutsu è la title-track e la vedo improbabile che la tolgano nell'album tour vero e proprio), con l'aggiunta - secondo me - di 2 o al massimo altri 3 brani del disco. Una Harris only ci sarà al 100%, direi, e credo proprio sarà Hell On Earth. Sulle altre beh, può accadere di tutto. Ad Ottobre/Novembre dovrebbero sciogliere ogni riserva e sapremo con certezza il tema del tour, e in caso quanto di Somewhere In Time ci sarà dentro!

@@ironmaidenftmitaliaCi può stare, io non avrei fatto così, avrei sostituito alcuni classici con altri inserendo la sola Writing on the Wall, che secondo me è il primo vero classico dei Maiden dai tempi di The Clansman/Blood Brothers, ma certamente la situazione è diversa rispetto ai tour del 2003 (quello antologico) e quello del 2010, dove fu suonato un solo singolo ad album non ancora uscito. In Italia non ci possiamo comunque lamentare, sarà in ogni caso il debutto di questi tre pezzi. Grazie per aver condiviso lo show e per la risposta!

Janick plays the higher harmony and he is more ahead in the mix here than on the studio version, that's why it sounds different.

@@piotrbiernat4492 No, there are plenty of songs on which Dave has no solo. If you're speaking specifically for Senjutsu, Dave does not solo on either "Stratego" or "Days of Future Past." Janick only and Adrian only, respectively.

Whow, Bruce sounds like he has lost about 70% percent of his voice Crazy thing is, he still sounds better than half the artists today. He used to have an downright inhuman voice. Now he is human, but still damned impressive.

this is the first time I heard Bruce struggle with singing. he doesnt sound very good but its still amazing how long he has been able to sound great live. time catches up with you eventually.

Bruce is losing it which is sad, nothing you can do about it unless you stay young forever..

Saw him live on Tuesday and his voice was strong as all fuck. Honestly he sounded so powerful I was stunned by it.

Not bad for a 65 year old guy. Go down kicking and screaming i say. If you think he sounds so bad, what were you expecting?

Bruce sounds awful. I know people will say he’s sick but he’s being sounding bad at every show. Age. It’s a killer.

I saw them in Sweden in July, and Bruce sounded great! He also sings "Stratego" brilliantly in the live video of it that Maiden published just a few days ago. So he has definitely had some great gigs earlier on this tour at least.

He is talking about the destruction of the world and the enslavement of the people for the top 5%. Not that I expect anyone on here to be aware enough.

I don't get this, Bruce cannot sing this song live, yet he sings Senjutsu just like in the studio version. He cannot sing in this register any more, he should adjust
