I am so glad you reacted to this collaboration between Home Free & The Oakridge Boys. "Elvira" was a huge hit for The Oakridge Boys in 1981. You can see the great respect these 2 groups have for each other. The Oakridge Boys are mentors to Home Free & it is like they are passing the baton to a younger version of themselves. They have performed together on the Grand Ole Opry. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is the best in the business. He can simulate drums & any other sounds perfectly. Home Free is my favorite a cappella group. They are so talented yet very humble guys

I Grew Up Listening To The Oak Ridge Boys And Always Trained My Voice To Go Baritone....This Was An Awesome Collaboration AND, A Great Way To Pay Homage To The Ones Who've Inspired You. I Love It!
The collaboration between HF and The Oak Ridge Boys seems like the passing of the baton from one generation to the next younger generation. These guys sounded "fantastico" together!
Just a fun note: this arrangement came from Geoff Castellucci of Voiceplay. He passed it along to Home Free when they got the chance to collaborate with the Oaks. Very cool.

I love Geoff too, and Voiceplay. Voiceplay = musical theater acapella with mini movies, Home Free = acapella stage/singing with some cute videos, Pentatonix is a little less my kind, too poppy. Although who can resist Avi? He's in his own folk / singer class...he could sing an ingredient list for cookies and make it sound ahmahzing... :) And to think! The group that brought me into acapella was? No laugh, barbershop New Fangled four...
The guy with the black beard also sings bass, tenor and anything in between, also whistle like you can't believe!
When this song originally was released by The Oak Ridge Boys... my Mom loved the song. She used to dance in a goofy way, and sing “Mauw Mauw”. A happy memory.
Barry dear, if you like Acapella with a theater feel, please react to Voiceplay . Their bass singer arranged "Elvira" for this video.💋💋
😂 I can’t believe you never had the Pleasure of the Oak Ridge Boys music before. They have been Certified Country Artists for decades. Guess it’s better late than never, right 😉. For Home Free to sing with them was a huge blessing to Home Free. Good reaction to this collaboration. The song was a #1 hit for The Oak Ridge Boys in 1981. Its my favorite song of theirs. ❤️

Lol... I almost hit the floor when you indicated the Oak Ridge Boys must be good to sing with HF. Please, Oak Ridge were singing before these kids were born.
Oh Barry! sorry! I won't be able to be with you (and with Barry's angels) tonight... it's too late for me: tomorrow I have to get up early and go to work with all my neurons well placed. But the first thing I'll do in the morning, while having my coffee, is watch the video! that's for sure! please give lots of hugs to everyone from me!

I love hearing the older group with the younger group. It's an amazing mix of their sounds.
Home Free is Fantastic!!❤❤❤
The Oak Ridge Boys have been together since 1973...50 years! Pretty much the same lineup. The only acapella country group I can think of for most of those years. They had many hit songs, Elvira being one of them. Thanks Barry
"Illegal" and "Arrest them" haha. Enjoyed your reaction!
Well I'll be at work as usual but I'll definitely watch when I get home.
Oak Ridge released Elvira in 1966. Please listen to Unchained Melody by Home Free. Made popular in the 60s by the Richeous Brothers. From a 1953 movie called Unchained. ( source of the black and white prison theme)

I think you got some of your dates a little mixed up. Dallas Frazier first recorded "Elvira" in 1966 but it became a big hit when "The Oakridge Boys" recorded it in 1981. Also the movie "Unchained" was released in 1955. Bobby Hatfield from The Righteous Brothers recorded the song "Unchained Melody" in 1965.

I agree this is an amazing recording and I’ve still to hear the original. Thanks Darrin.
The Oak Ridge Boys have been around since the 70's and have always been so much fun. Then you put Home Free with them and you have a super fun time.
Awesome! We miss you, Barry when you're not around.
Legends and legends in the making. The only thing better than the Oak Ridge Boys singing Elvira is the Oak Ridge Boys AND Home Free singing Elvira. So much talent in one place. Adam Rupp's beat boxing is just phenomenal, although that's not anything unusual. Home Free is famous for spreading happiness.
Oak ridge Boys were the original group to release Elvira. They still got it after all these years. Love Home Free collaborating with anyone.
This was a major hit in the 70s before home free was born isn’t it amazing
The Oak Ridge Boys are in their 70’s when this was done I think. They still got it!! 😁
Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay helped the guys out on this video and did the arrangement for this rendition.
My son was 3 or 4 when the Oak ridge boys dropped this record. My son will be 44 soon. He went around singing this song, loudly most of the time ♥️
I always love your reactions! I grew up listening to the Oak Ridge Boys. They were the best in the business back in the day and they've passed the torch to Home Free! What a wonderful collab on a classic song! Please react to Home Free singing "How Great Thou Art" and "Brothers in Arms". Keep a tissue handy. You might cry!
The Oak Ridge Boys have been singing for over 50 years. They are a great group also.
The Oak Ridge Boys took this song to #1 on both the country and pop charts in 1981. Home Free did a collaboration with Kenny Rogers too, shortly before he passed away.
Back where I left off. Not giving up on you, Barry. Go...Oom pa pa, oom pa pa, oom papa mau mau...
The guys felt so honored to do this with the Oak Ridge Boys. And I luv the mutual admiration between them. One gentleman said " I need to meet this Elvira if shes got all this talent singing bout her!" 😂 Enjoyed this immensely
Love this so much the guys are so humble and pay respect to there elders just love try LOVE TRAIN or HELPLESSLY HOPING enjoy
Some of the Oak Ridge Boys are past their vocal prime. No surprise there with forty years. They are still gems as artists and human beings.
Hi! You may like also The Statler Brothers, you have so much personality, love watching your reactions!
Home Free is amazing!! Little bit of news... Austin got his start on cruise ships as a member of the onboard cast for shows. Royal Caribbean are known for their wandering minstrels! That's apparently where Home Free found him. They we're wandering around singing. It was so my 1st introduction to Acapella.I am in awe!
Oakridge Boys are great too!!❤❤
Barry, The Oak Ridge Boys recorded “Elvira” in the 1980s. This is the Oak Ridge Boys’ signature song. Home Free did record a cover of this song without the Oak Ridge Boys.
Holy shit, Barry. There's some seriously talented gentlemen in that room. Nothing short of incredible, Nice reaction as always.
the old meets the new . .the main difference is .. back then . they didn't do the beat box thing .. good reaction Barry .. made my day ...
The Oak Ridge Boys have been around since 1945. Since they did this song the Oak Ridge Boys have become mentors to Home Free. The have done many things together since. Tim the bass of Home Free has always wanted to be able to sing like Richard Sterban the bass from the Oak Ridge Boys. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
When a man loves a woman really shows Austin’s ability.
And the Bass singer of the Oak Ridge Boys, is Richard Sterban, When He started out in Music He was in a group called The Jordanaires; Who ALMOST exclusively sang backup vocals for Superstar performer, Elvis Presley!!!
The Oak Ridge Boys are all in their 70s. They were HUGE in the 1970s and 1980s.
Home Free + Oak Ridge Boys ❤️🙌🙌
The Oak Ridge Boys are country legends along with The Statler Brothers who were big at the same time! I was lucky enough to see both groups (at different times) at my local state or county fair (I forget which, it was so long ago)!
Of all the amazing parts of this cover, I am supremely amazed that Geoff Castelluci (the bassie boy of VoicePlay) arranged this cover and evidently helped with the video. Such lack of ego on everybody's part.
Wow, Tim and Adam were stand outs in this performance. Thanks Mr. Barry. 🌹
Oak Ridge boys have been around for at least 50 years singing
Maybe you can do one of the Oakridge Boys other hits on the channel.
The Oakridge Boys are country music Royalty! Loved this colab, and your reaction, as usual!
I love this older generation, younger generation type of thing. Like passing the torch.
As always, love your reaction. The Oakridge Boys have been around forever. That they would want to collab with Home Free is a real honor. They were totally star struck. Love this version of this song.

Can't go wrong with Home Free and the Oakridge Boys.❤️
The Oak Ridge Boys still tour. They will be near enough by and we have seats for June 9. Can’t wait. Now hoping Home Free puts us in the Fall rotation again.
The Oke ridge boys have been together since 1974 and this is their song but Home Free has pretty much been there little brothers and has been really good friends over the years. A great song to react to.
Can't stop watching your face as you review. I already love Home Free and Petatonix, but your expressions are amazing .
19.- I will never be able to forget the entrance of the two of them into the house, through the door that led to the large kitchen, and my grandmother's terror mixed with several dozen hysterical screams. What a funny situation! The badger did not understand anything, he looked skeptically at that human who did not stop shouting, with a certain grace at me (who was sitting on the ground laughing non-stop), and raised his head looking at my grandfather with a curious expression that said : “Okay, I came with you to greet your family… and now what do you want to do with these people? Are they all crazy? Shall we bite them? Can you give me something to eat and take me home?" He took it with him, of course (poor animal: surely he already had a low opinion of humans, but he must have returned home convinced that it is better to keep them at a great distance!). And I, in an oversight of my grandmother, can say that I have had the great honor of petting a badger. Then they went along the edge of the road to the mountain path, my grandfather with his long, leisurely stride, and the badger behind him, trotting, tail wagging to the beat.

Oh wow. I was just laughing and laughing reading this. I thought something like this might be coming. I like the lines where you described the scene from the perspective of the badger. 😂 I would love to have heard what that badger said to its family around the dinner table that evening. My grandmother would scream about things too. Very funny, it’s as if I was there. 😃I think your grandfather knew exactly what was going to happen when he stepped into that house.

The Oakridge bass singer sang with Elvis for a long while. Uber talent all around!
The Oak Ridge Boys began their career in the 1940's (not a typo) singing gospel music as the Oak Ridge Quartet. They later moved toward country music and somewhere along the line changed their name to The Oak Ridge Boys. I was born in 1955, so I have actually heard them all my life! I think listening to gospel quartets gave me my love for bass singers.
This is such a fun one, isn't it? And such a great moment for them, being huge fans of the Oakridge Boys. It's almost like a passing of the torch and always makes me smile. :)
HF does another collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys. "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" is a holiday song but it's a great listen any time of year, same for their collaboration with Kenny Rogers & "Children, Go Where I Send Thee." On the latter, listen to the outro for how the collab came to be. One of my all-time favorites is the collab with Don McLean, "American Pie." Don asked HF to join him for a 50th anniversary re-release of the song and it was unbelievably good. Thanks for the reaction, Barry, it was great. PS - I see you reacted to the HF 9-5 video, but you really, really need to see their LIVE performance.

Austin played the Georgia boy, Tim plays the narrator and of course hits all the bass notes. It's really great, definitely recommend searching it out.
Barry, the OAK RIDGE BOYS were HUGE in country music and their vocal range is perfect for HF to make covers of. Interesting trivia (useless) knowledge: the ORB had a full band backing them……HOME FREE provides ALL musical instruments for them here!! But LOVE this collab.
This song was originally by the Oak ridge Boys when I grew up in late 70's early 80's. I love their interactions. You get the feel the Oak Ridge Boys is passing the baton so to speak to a new generation. They did a Christmas song together called "Beautiful Stsr of Bethlehem" that's amazing too.

No it's not originally done by the Oak ridge boys they have the most popular version though. Original was done in 1966 by Dallas Frazier
The Oak Ridge Boys may have lost something musically, but they make up for it with enormous experience. This lineup was together from 1974-1987, and reunited on New Year's Day of 1996. They make HF, formed in 2000 and with this lineup since 2016, look like newcomers.
My dad (a UMC minister) would wander through the house singing this in his bass range. I always think of him when I hear this. BTW his name was Barry too. 😊
Love the double reactions, Barry. I remember listening to "Elvira” by The Oak Ridge Boys all the time in the 80’s on the radio. Home Free’s collaboration with them was so special to hear after all these years.
Since you seem to enjoy Austin Brown's amazingly high tenor voice, you should listen to Home Free's rendition of, "When A Man Loves a Woman!" Austin takes the lead in this performance, and it's outstanding!
There's a video of another collaboration with Home Free, The Oak Ridge Boys and Jeffrey East on "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" - the harmony is just as amazing as the song.
The Oakridge Boys are LEGENDS! ♥️
Home Free - Beautiful Star of Bethlehem Ft. The Oak Ridge Boys and Jeffrey East is also wonderful
I have watched this over and over. I was a huge fan of The Oak Ridge Boys, and hearing them with Home Free brings such joy. Barry, I loved watching this and so appreciate your genuine enthusiasm with every reaction video - having it be a group I am so familiar with and introducing the Oak Ridge Boys to new fans is wonderful. Thanks again.
The Oak Ridge Boys are a great country quartet. Elvira was a big hit for them probably before most of the members of Home Free were in school if fact probably before at least one of them was born. Together the Oak Ridge and Home Free are dynamite. The Oak Ridge Boys were not an a cappella group but obviously they don’t need instruments to sing perfectly.
You have a beautiful smile-you remind me of Deacon on the show Nashville!
It makes me think of a farm vlog, From Suits To Boots, who has an Elvira...they're a farm sanctuary & someone called them about a wild deer baby (fawn) that was orphaned. They got her & cared for her til a wildlife place could take her...Elvira is a dear deer..lol! I saw Oakridge Boys in person several yrs ago at the Michigan Special Olympics. They donated their time & should be commended for that. Our athletes loved it!!
Astonishing fact? The Oak Ridge Boys are in their 70’s & 80’s.
I find it amusing that Elvira was a street name. ;)

@@sean_b_drummer No that's very true. We have a lot in common but it's like the weirdest things, we both hate bananas, but love banana flavored candy, we both hate spicy food, we're both fiscally conservative, but lean liberal in a lot of other ways {he calls himself a centrist, which is probably the closest thing I could call myself as well}, we were both raised Lutheran, and left the faith young, I have returned to it, he has not really, although he's very knowledgeable, we like a lot of the same kinds of music outside of a Capella. But the best things about him are that he's super smart, and very funny, so he keeps my mind engaged, and makes me laugh. He hates questions (I love to ask them), he hates when people hand him things unless he asks for them (I love to hand him things he didn't ask for to make him deal with his own mess). The Oak Ridge Boys is an iconic country band. This is their song that Home Free is covering with them. You should listen to the original from the Oak Ridge Boys.
The Oakridge Boys first debuted in 1945. I think it was the early 70's when they sort of crossed over into pop culture. Elvira was one of those songs. I doubt if there is anyone over 30 (on this side of the pond) that hasn't heard that song and probably sang along with the chorus!
Loved the reaction to "Elvira" with Home Free and the iconic Oakridge Boys! Noticed you had reacted to "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers, enjoyed that tremendously. May I suggest "Unchained Melody" cover by Home Free, it's amazing. They stayed true to the original but, as always with Home Free, made it their own at the same time. Looking forward to seeing your reaction on this. Thank you for always bringing a smile to our faces and putting a song in our hearts.
My grandma was from North Carolina she loved the Oak Ridge Boys and this song was one of her faviortes.
