What about freeing the hostages? Israel gave Gaza to Palestinians and Palestinians elected terrorists as their government. Palestinian government supported women being shot through the vagina and babies baked in ovens while parents were decapitated. Israel needs to take out Hamas and take Gaza back. Arabs should move back to Jordan or Arabia if Muslims refuse to live in peace under 2 state solution. Muslims need to go to anger management

I am Irish and I am horrified at the massacre taking place in Gaza and the oppression of the Palestinian people. It reminds me so much of our own countries struggles for independence in 1798 and 1916. Those Irishmen were called terrorists once just like Hamas. Who were brutally ethnically cleansed during the Nakba of 1948 by Yishuv Jewish forces. Sderot (an Israeli settlement/town targeted during the operation) was built on what used to be the Palestinian village of Najd! And there are hundreds of more examples just like it.

The Irish have much in common with the Jewish people, we were hated around the world as a people including Europe, loved in Mexico and South America because we were Catholic and my Irish fought with them. Many who were conscripted in to American army upon arrival to the USA switched sides and fought with Mexico because they were hated by the USA for being Catholic. History is quite interesting. You do realise that Ireland was Boycotted by some countries in the international world because of the Troubles and that England were the first to break the Boycott!! 🇮🇪❤️🇮🇱

Thanks, remember the workers here in Dunnes stores in the 1980's who started the protest by no longer handling South African goods to show solidarity with Mandela and stand up against apartheid. Irish people hate injustice and racism no matter where in the world it is happening.

Coming from an Indian who was born and raised in the United States, the Irish will always have my undying respect for recognizing Palestine and being more vocal about it than any other EU country.

Some correction needed. The Ottomans wanted to send more but were not allowed to send more than Queen Victoria sent. I hope that you know, many people here are very against the type of war-mongering and interference we see from Western countries in the Arab World. I personally am horrified by what is happening now in Gaza. I work with young children and it is just unimaginable to me that the life of a child would have such little worth to the state of Israel. As an Irish person who knows the full details of what hamas has done on the 7th of October, I find it very difficult to show sympathy to the palestines. As an Irish woman who has been living in Germany for the last thirty years, I can confirm that if you say absolutely anything negative about Israel here, it is almost considered high treason and can come with a hefty fine or a prison sentence. This really angers me. Our governments here have always been 100% behind Israel, no matter what crimes they commit in Palestine, due to our terrible history in the 1930s/1940s. After the Hamas terrorist attacks, which I, as a decent human being, absolutely condemn, by the way, our government in Berlin and all the 16 individual governments of the federal states, were falling over themselves to protect and reassure Israel. Our head of State, President Frank Walther Steinmeier, then declared that the state of Israel is Germany‘s reason for existing ! The reaction of the war criminal Netanyahu and the Israeli government to,the terrible massacres by Hamas is not in keeping with international law and should be condemned by any decent person. I do not support Hamas, or any other terrorist organisations, but I support the innocent people of Gaza.

Ireland is not against the Jews in Israel, Ireland is for peace and makes clear that also Palestinians die right now and should have human rights. Ireland makes clear that the right-wing government of Israel is also guilty in this conflict with the settlement policy, the discrimination against the Palestinians, the fact that Israel don’t give the Palestinians food and water and let the Palestinians die in this Gaza Strip, also because of Israeli rockets. The problem is too that the Israeli government don’t want a 2 state solution and it’s also problematic that the Israeli government do not separate between Hamas and the 2 million Palestinians. And no one supports the Palestinian although they have been expelled by the Israeli government for 70 years. The only president who wanted peace from the side of the Israeli government was Rabin.

I have great respect for the Irish. Met many of them during living in UK. Great people with bravery, honesty and integrity. Always call a spade a spade. Most admired thing about them being their refusal to be the US lackey, a far cry from the EU zombie leaders who succumbed to the US in all aspects.

I’m Irish and I love my country but this gives too much credit. The politicians should be standing with SA and they havnt. Many are feeling let down by our own government who’s trying to ignore the will of the people

Let’s hope more follow, I’m proud that my country (Sweden) was the first country in EU to recognize palestine and people here support them alot, I would like to think that most pf western europé support palestine, atleast the people.. we are not all like the USA and UKs goverment

@@carbide2733 na they weren't oppressed rather used by india to oppose pakistan and divide it as is being done in other provinces of Pakistan today. Sadly with bengal the generals handled it wrong by killing so many people this further pushed a split of that state. Palestine is occupied tertiary state of bengal chose to be part of islamic republic of pakistan. Big differences do not deflect current palestine situation. It's like saying is bangladesh oppressing the rohingya by not opening up its border for them it neighbours that state why not take them in when unwanted by mynamar?
