Really? Just because a few left wing Sinn Feiners have made a few speeches demanding a ceasefire? You really are grasping at straws these days.

One thing not mentioned is that the British also setup Protestant 'soup kitchens' where they would feed any Irish who converted from Catholicism to Protestantism. Also, the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire famously sent ships with food and supplier, but the British blocked it.

The soup thing is almost an urban myth, at least greatly exaggerated. The soup kitchens set up by the British did not discriminate, but some private ones set up by religious groups did require people to attend a service. That's what the story grew out of.

@@derk-rc9wx Im from Dublin ir government in London Partitioned my country illegally in 1921 because a minority on the island of Ireland refused independence and threatened to bomb Westminister and start a civil war on the island of Ireland the at was the protestant Unionist loyalist community in the 6 counties ,ur government should have ignored them but they didnt in fact they gerrymandered the lines to create a pProtestant Unionist Loyalist statelet called "Northern Ireland" in which Catholics were murdered from 1921 onwards many fled into the Irish Free State into refugee camps others stayed in the newly formed "Northern Ireland" Catholic homes and businesses were burnt down that's th e legacy we have been left the Irish Free State became a Republic in 1949but the North remains colonized that's what u Brits have left us 32🇮🇪✋
