Iran "Will Not Respond" To US Pressure, Pezeshkian Hails “Friendship” With Russia And China |
Iran’s new President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has written a letter addressed to the “new world” in which he laid out the Islamic Republic’s future foreign policy. The relatively moderate leader rebuked the United States for its “hostile” policies towards Tehran and warned that the country won’t “respond to US pressure”. He also stressed on Iran’s “deeply valued friendship” with Russia and China. He also expressed his desire to engage in “constructive dialogue” with European countries despite the “ups and downs” in their ties.
Is “reformist” Pezeskhian going to toe his predecessor’s line on foreign policy? Expected to be pro-West, is the doctor-turned-politician under pressure from the hardliners?

Last part of his surname is similar to Armenians, but actually he is an Iranian Turk. There are many Iranian surnames which have "ian" at their last part and most of them are not Armenians
