Fun fact ! I recently visited Thomas grubb’s foundry in Dublin, He was the largest telescope manufacturer in the world in the 1800/1900 , I flew in from Australia in search of 180 year old plans for A telescope he built for Australia in 1849, it was the largest in the world at the time, I was graced by the Irish astronomy society and brought to his original foundry, There I learned he had 400 employees at the time of manufacturing our scope, Each & every employee were master locksmith’s & finian’s His firm thought the employees to master the art of lock picking so if they got arrested they could make their way back

After the escape Dingus Magee lived in Kerry and became a greyhound trainer. I met several times as my father is also a trainer. I always found Magee to be a very humble man and down to earth.
