Inside Maryland's Prisons

Ойын-сауық

For six months, guards and inmates at the maximum security prison in Albany, New York, were monitored. The magazine team focuses on Tammy Lord, a mother of four who was convicted of theft, Michael Chmielewski, a murderer, and Mike Turner, considered a very dangerous man. Member of a gang, the latter tried on several occasions to foment mutinies against the guards. Cameras have also entered death row alongside people awaiting execution like Rodney Reed, a 48-year-old African-American. As for Anthony Graves, wrongly accused of murder, he was finally released.

There’s definitely a caveat to that. While in that prison, the inmates definitely run the show. If you think for one moment that they can’t get, or do ANYTHING they want, you’re fooling yourself. You’ve obviously never been there. The inmates definitely run the prison. Guards even ask permission to do stuff sometimes. Look up BCDC Baltimore city detention center corruption case. Inmate had multiple children with multiple guards while locked up. Had drugs, cash, cell phones, street food, cigarettes, and every other convenience free people have except leaving at will.

I did 18 months in Frederick county. I was in J block, and stayed in one of the corner cells. it was bigger than the regular ones. I was also on the 2nd level. I worked in the kitchen, so i ate really as much as i wanted. We had hot showers, TV, allowed phone calls and pictures, had a bible study, annd the correctional officers there were all really coool. I was a heroin addict for 14 years. I still have my Frederick county jail inmate card. i was there when i was 25-27 years old. im 37 now, and live in Florida. Im 8 years sober, and have my life back. I also, would have more clothes than i was supposed to lol, and lots of Playboy magazines. I used my time there to get in good shape, get sober, listen to the people who gave good , whole some advice, and still have friendships with some of the people i met there to this day. Sadly, some of the people I knew when i was there died from fentanyl. Thank you God i got away from that stuff. Baltimore ruined me for 14 years.

Instead of seeing the error of their ways and taking responsibility for their crimes and aspiring to change their lives and make positive productive decisions, they see it as a challenge to be better at crime so that they continue living that life. They'll live the majority of their lives behind bars and will never understand that it was their own choices that put them there.

Really not that simple. Our laws are set up where we can't even go to work without breaking several laws weather we recognize it or not. We need a revamp of the system since some petty crimes get more harsh punishment then some felonies. For every law they add they need to remove 2....maybe that will help. I find it funny when some say "I know the law" really? Which one? As the police, attorneys and judges don't even know them and often get them wrong.

Maybe that's a good thing he hates the jail and staff, and he thinks they're racist. That just might be a deterrent to him going back to jail ever again.

They are & he's in real danger. There's nothing cute about it. This nasty old man's up on federal charges right now. I'm talking about the " sheriff".

Directora: Mathilde Gautry

The music choices are very odd. I just heard sinister Disney after a weird upbeat country/pop things while talking about the plight of the underprivileged…confused
