Hooded is nothing but the glass that protrude outside the chimney.. straight line chimney is withou hood.. i hope it clears.. if not please tell..

Opposite window is better for the make up air.. in foreign countries, they use seperate vents for make up air.. if evrything closed the make up air is important.. if it is adjacent you should keep your window close or open depends on the wind direction.. but you can consider this criteria as least priority..

Angled hood is made for taller people not hit on the hood.. so there is no big issues.. angled hood is look wise good.. but you should spend some extra money for that..
