Thank you for sharing this very useful video. These iPods are definitely getting old and I’m sure a lot of them need this repair.

So i have a 6th ipod that touch a dent where the power button is, it still works, but it's dent in a way that i have to really push it, it no longer clicks, but it works. for now. what course of action would you recommend, swapping the back cover entirely what im thinking, but maybe it is still salvageable, even if it is aluminum im not entirely sure if i could "un-dent" it by applying force it.

I took my iPod touch 4th generation apart to install a new battery while watching another video... The battery install went okay but when I reassembled the device, I found that the power button and the two side buttons that control the volume are not working (as if I detached a ribbon cable or something).... I wouldn't think the buttons or other hardware are bad inasmuch as I usually have the iPod in my glove compartment and rarely even touch it. What are your thoughts?

Wow, impressive work! I have an old Ipod Touch 3 with a main button that still works, but clearly the clicker mechanism is broke or so. It does make contact, but I have to push it hard. Is this easy to fix?

If you can remove the screen without cracking it then yes. The clicker mechanism can be replaced. Those screens are pressed in similar to the model shown.
