The XR's display won't burn in. The XR's battery is better. I prefer the aluminium frame over stainless steel. Don't need the second camera. XR is my winner.

The screen in the XR is fine, and most average consumers won’t notice the difference. But Apple should have known tech reviewers would slam the display, because they are anal about specs! So they should have just put at least a 1080p display in it just to shut everyone up!

Technically speaking after hands on with the XR it is very noticeable that the screen is not suitable for this day and age specially for a solid price of £750 you can not defend the phone without having a go on the phone and watching at least 3 different videos on KZread... It gets very blurry and has some odd effects even a iPhone 5s display works better then the XR's

CAR SOLUTIONS bought an xr and compared it to a friends xs and in store xs for a few hours today. The xr is definitely not blurry in any way. Xs xr and xs max all default to 1080p on KZread with out an option for anything higher on any of them. That’s watching 4K test videos. HDR looks great on the xs models but in no way is the xr bad or blurry.

CAR SOLUTIONS mine doesn’t look like yours. Maybe compare to one in the store and make sure your KZread app is set to 1080. Looks like a video set to 480p or something. Could try Netflix or take a 4K video yourself and see what it looks like. Try typing 4K test into KZread and play one of those. The difference I saw between my xr and the xs wasn’t huge. The colors were much more noticeable in the comparison then the resolution. Good luck with it.

Agustin Carrillo got 10 hours and 45 minutes out of my XR before it hit 10%. Granted that was all on WiFi, but it’s still impressive. I went from an 8 plus and I have no regrets about it.

Agustin Carrillo I actually think that the XR screen is a better quality LED screen. Just because it’s not the same pixel density doesn’t justify the extra 350 I would’ve had to have spent to get the extra 5% more features and the 256 gig storage. Everyone says you can see it up close, well if they’re holding their phones that close to their faces all of the time it’s going to hurt their eyes, and nobody does that anyway. They need glasses if they do. Plus the oled screen has a pulse to it that was messing with my eyes, I had the X for 2 weeks last year and it was giving me a headache after looking at it for a while. So that’s why I went with the 8 plus.

whats funny is that people care so much about the specs that if apple lied and said it was a 1080p display no one would complain because the screen genuinley looks great and apple have always made 'low speced' screens look amazing because they are apple - this display is probably better than a load of 1080p android displays out there

Anonymous Yes you can buy a cheaper Android phone with a 2k display. Problem is that, since there are only 2 subpixels per pixel on an OLED, that means that iPhone’s 828 resolution has nearly the same amount of light elements (sub-pixels) as a 2k OLED panel. It's the camera he's recording the footage on adjusting the exposure to prevent the XS screen blowing out. In reality, the XR won't look the same as it does here but the video does show that the XS screen is brighter.

As a photographer I chose the Xr for the portraits, the reason is very simple. With this single lens you can attach a 58mm moment lens or a wide angle lens and have an incredible portrait which any double lens is not possible

I have a 5s and can tell the difference between my 5s and an Xr. But I love deep constata in colors and sharp displays. I don't think the average person will notice the differences. But for people who watch lots of videos/shows with your phone, you will definitely notice a difference in certain color schemes.

What is the iphone screen width order from big to small? I mean only the screen width in inches or mm, not including bezels.

When you were comparing the screens you actually had a warm lighting effect on the X-RAY that is why it looks not as sharp

The screen is no where near as bad as some youtubers are suggesting and it looks great, i could of got the xs if i wanted but after using the xr for a couple days now i really cant justify and extra 250 for the xs unless you really care about having the best screen ever becasue you might happen to watch a lot of movies or something. I do think that the xs is a slightly better phone than the xr but it is not worth an 250

I just ordered a iPhone XS yesterday and i am very excited for it to come.

I think it’s important to mention for people with big photo and video albums that the XS goes up to 512g of memory. The XR maxes out at half that.

You lost credibility when you talked bad about the display. It isn't noticeable and it looks just as good as the XS. Go into any apple store compare them side by side and you will find it hard to see the difference.

Swift just turned my True Tone off and it’s bright as hell

@sakitech - if I can get EITHER phone for the same price, should I still go with the XS? I'm not a heavy or sophisticated user. Other youtuber comments have mentioned the battery life on XR.

My wife and I are both buying new phones and, at least from my part, the display might be a deal breaker although I'm an old guy and not needing all the latest and greatest tech. But my old eyes are an issue. Right now I have a very old phone (i5 I think). So is the XR something I should stay away from, is that what you saying?

The iPhone XR is to give the iPhone X experience to a wider range of people in all honesty, I would have gotten the Xr had it came out during the same time as the Xs. I ended up getting the Xs which I wished I hadn’t (ik that sounds backwards) but think about it. U get a bigger display and battery and more colors only thing lacking is 3D Touch and a second camera. I could’ve saved $250 but that’s my fault. I tell my friends to get the Xr instead of the Xs all the time

The XS display is much better than XR though. If you had cared so much about display size you would have gotten the max not XS

Jordan Tan the max was too big, my sisters has that. My mom has the Xr which is just fine. I can use the Xs I just prefer a slightly bigger screen

OLED and LCD doesn’t matter to me. Coming from an 8 and comparing my Xs to my moms Xr, it really doesn’t matter. Apple has always been great at their lcd. I like my Xs, I just would’ve liked the Xr display size more. Both are great phones in my opnion

I got an XR, and to be honest it is definitely worth the money in my opinion. The screen was something that bothered me at first, but after looking at it in stores, there isn’t a substantial difference between the XS and this phone. I’d recommend it 100%

The camera is way better on the XS. The telephoto lens gives you so much more versatility when framing distant shots. That was the deal breaker for me.

Thanks for the great, detailed review that allowed me to make an informed decision. However, I am going with the Xr. For me the larger screen, greater battery life and mostly equal camera features make it a no brainer to save the $250.

The XS has a larger battery life lmao. Plus the larger screen is plastic and inferior and it looks horrible. The camera does not compare to the xs as well.

The internal modem for connecting to cell towers is significantly better on the xs vs the xr. No one mentions this!

I still can’t decide which one to get because I want obviously the one with better camera and display but it’s confusing idk🥺

ohhh dude! at 5:22 , the “trune tone” option is ON in the iPhone XR. That’s why the screen looks bad Just turn that option OFF & it would look just the same as the iPhone Xs (I just figured it out using my new iPhone XR which I totally recommend IOS fans to buy it ^_^)

Watching this on xs, chose this because of small form factor. Love the xs ❤️❤️🇮🇳

I appreciate all the comments. I didn’t even watch the video I just read. I went from the X to the XR and I’m pretty satisfied as well. My husband has the MAX but he barely uses the fancy camera and he can’t even notice the screen display difference. (He’s not techy at all). I notice it, but it ain’t worth the extra extra to me. What I do miss is the 3D Touch. I didn’t realize how much I actually used it. It’s not a reason to pay an extra $250, but it was a cool feature.

Fantastic review. Right to the point and specs. No bs. Want to upgrade my 6s plus. Not sure to what tho
