Isn’t the camera really grainy though? I just bought mine && will be returning it tomorrow for the X. I get some people want their photos automatically ‘beautified’ but if I wanted to edit my pictures i should be given the option instead of it being forced upon me. Really not happy with this phone, it’s huge too!

I thought it was but I think , they wanted to separate the notch type phones from the bezel type phone. Also if they made it a 9 the market would think it isn’t as good as the x or ‘10’ so they would possibly decrease sales, meaning it is a marketing technique. I hate that it is called that though.

Clémence Lussigny The A12 chip is way better than the A11 chips. The xr is 50% faster, has a much better battery, more color choices, better camera, arguably better speakers.

Austin Hickerson hi! Honestly I don’t really mind the small difference in speed, I already feel like the X is pretty fast. In terms of battery, I am planning on getting a smart battery case just in case, but the battery isn’t that bad on the X. I don’t like colored phones, so black or silver is my way to go! I’d rather have superzoom than not, and the slight difference in the quality of speakers doesn’t really bother me. I enjoy the more premium side of the X and the display. But I’ll admit that the Xr is really nice as well. Overall I think the phone you choose is based on your preferences, choose the phone that suits you! 😄

Clémence Lussigny I agree, but you can’t say the x is better than the XR because that’s just false. I’ve had both phones and the xr is better in about 9/10 ways. I don’t miss the zoom at all, but I do miss the portrait mode for objects/my dog. The battery life is soooo much better on the XR, and even with the phones side by side I still don’t see any real difference in the display. Aside from that the phone is just way more fluid all around. The x is also a great phone, but I’m telling you it don’t feel, look, or work any better than the XR at all.

Masterjo I own a 10r and it’s fine. If you want a 500 dollar android then go for it. Come back in a year and we’ll see how both of the phones have held up though. Androids get much slower much faster over time.

@@profribasmat217 that's because the 6s has 720p as well. I have a note 9 and it has 1440p, which is the middle man between 1080p and 4k. The 6s was made in 2014. This is 2018

For me, the XR will be my next phone. Granted, the LCD screen may not be as sharp as the OLED but it still clear and very viewable. Heck, the iPads use LCDs with a lower PPI and it's still great. Unless you like looking at your phone 4 inches from your face, both screen types are satisfactory. More processing power, updated graphics, potentially better battery life, better camera....the XR is perhaps the better iPhone overall. That's good enough for me.

Build quality and display are very important to me. I’m positive I won’t notice the difference between milliseconds of app performance so the A12 bionic is negligible to me. Heck my 7 plus still flies. We’ve reached a point of diminishing returns on speed but the screen is definitely something you can visually notice the improvement on. Overall I want my phone to feel and look premium because it does affect the overall experience

Portrait mode doesn’t work on objects anymore on the Xr. That should have been noted when you mentioned that they both have portrait mode. It’s definitely different.

I did some research and it said that the XR has a slightly better display than a 7 but a 7 can watch 1080p videos but it says that the display isn’t 1080p. Is it the same way with the XR? Can someone help me out?

I actually just upgraded from a X to the XR. - Started seeing 3D Touch as a gimmick that I never used. - Never really zoomed in while take pictures. Even when I did, it wasn’t all that great. That’s personal opinion. - For some reason I prefer the screen on the XR versus the X. Seems like my pictures on Instagram look better on this screen. - Dual sims. - XR is faster and snappier. - Better battery life. -I’m only paying $28 versus $47.91 a month for a discontinued iPhone. I’m done paying for superior Apple phones until they include some Samsung/android features and functionality and give me my money’s worth for at least more than a year. I think they should slow down on hardware and work on the software.

I wish reviewers like you would make assertions based on the meaning of figures and not just the figures numerical values themselves. The XR screen is already above the resolving power of the average human eye at the working distance the average person holds their iPhones. Therefore, unless held side by side and with a resolving aid, users should not be abletell the iPhone XR is not as smooth as the its X, XS & MSMax competition. They should both look like print. It’s the meaning of the figures that matter.

iPhone XR has more color options, the A12 Bionic Chip which is better than the A11 chip, the 128GB Sweet Spot, a larger display, and a better battery life.

I finally convinced my dad to let me get him an iPhone (the XR, to be exact) so he could listen to all of his music that he bought back in the days of the iPods (nano, shuffle, etc). He also could barely work his LG and it was overheating. Overall, he's happy with it.
