We've been using the brand new 2020 iPhone SE for the past month and I've gotta say this is one of the best phones I've ever used. For the price I'm not sure why you would actually buy anything else.
So how's it been over the last month?

I also own the White SE and I genuinely forget this is "new" phone I am using every day. I'm in the Apple ecosystem already so the SE just blends into my daily use, working seamlessly with my ipad and macbook. This is the phone to get if you want something that just WORKS. No gimmicks or hoops to jump through. I personally don't need the bells and whistles of flagship phones or a large screen so I needed a phone that can handle my light tasks. The A13 and 5+years of support is just icing on the cake for smartphone usage.

A13 and 5 years of software support are wasted on a device with such a terrible battery. Your battery will die way before you ever get to 5 years. And all the uses that actually take advantage of the A13 like 4k video and games will eat up your battery in minutes.

  • @oqeufh

katniss you can just change the battery for about 30 bucks at Apple and most casual smartphone users don’t do much 4K video recording or heavy gaming whatsoever. My dad still uses my old iPhone 5s and he didn’t feel the need to change the battery anyways.

I would rather buy OP nord. Much bigger screen, better screen, more PPI, more storage, more ram, better camera/cameras, MUCH bigger battery, 90hz display, much faster charging speed. It's better in pretty much every way. Only thing that SE is better is wireles charging, and a bit slower processor. Or maybe samsung A71.

Donato Colangelo for me coming off a 6S Plus that even had the battery replaced by Apple, my SE2 has magically long battery life in comparison. Heavy use on my 6S Plus could nuke the battery in as little as 3 hours. I just got used to charging whenever a cable was nearby. I use my phone about 4-5 hours a day for general productivity and social media. SE2 often stays above 50% in my use case.

The only negative you missed about the camera, specifically, is the absence of night mode. The similarly priced Pixel 3a has it and presumably the 4a will as well, although they both come with even more compromises in my opinion. Granted you can download and pay for the app NeuralCam and voila, you have instant night mode! That all being said, I have the 11 Pro Max, 11 Pro, 11 and the SE as well as Samsung's Note 10+, just for variety. Other than that one tiny omission (even though it was implicit in your comment that the SE camera doesn't have some of the features as the 11) I think your review is a slam dunk and right on point! Now personally I use my phone for basic phone stuff (call, text , photo, etc.) however it does have a lot of power in such a compact machine. So rather you are looking for a every day basic phone or a super computer you can fit in your hand I recommend the iPhone se 2020.

I’ve had the SE 2 for two weeks now . As a runner this is the perfect phone and with my job and I’m on my feet all day this also is great. If You’re a person that’s on your phone constantly all day long Watching media and playing games this isn’t a phone for you but if for calls ,texting ,social media ,podcast ,music ,occasional video and then maybe t Google maps this phone is works perfect for me. I don’t have any battery problems but that’s like buying flip-flops and saying it doesn’t help me and my running and complaining about the flip-flops not being a good running shoe this phone is not for the media consumption sit there and play with your phone all day crowd.

I using the A50 and while the SE has an outdated design it has better internals while the A51 and other midrange phones have better specs like screen size but idk I was thinking about getting this over the A51 cause I miss ios and the long support is insane. Everyone else supports android for 1-2 years and this will probably get 5 years, and its really nice it has fast and wireless charging. No mid range phones have wireless charging at least.

Great review! About battery I can’t confirm your findings. My SE last easily a full day and I usually have at least about 40% left at night before I plug it in. To make it doesn’t make a difference. The iPhone 11 Pro had about 55% to 60% left at night but still would take me another full day so I jade to charge anyways. I love how the SE feels and I started to realize these Pro flagships don’t give me much more. They are much heavier, too. I get that it might not be the right phone for gamers or extensive video content. For everything else is just perfect.
