    I go with Saramonic, it’s the best I think. Good testing Larry. I love these kind of mics because plug and play, no wire. But if you need to be far like 15ft, not so great. Within 3-6ft are good.

    This was such a comprehensive and super helpful video. It is amazing how different people prefer different sounds for different purposes/projects. For me, who needs the mic mostly for self-taped auditions indoors, the Shure has hands down the best sound for that. It is the most "TV/film" like speech sound as opposed to the others that sound more broadcast-y. Thank you so much, you helped me make a decision after some excruciating hours of research. 😆

    Great content, keep up the good work! Question... Which of these Mics would you recommend for recording a music concert from the audience? I am leaning towards the Edutige since I can control the gain with an app, but I am not sure if it will have enough low end frequency to feel the drums better... Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

    Sounds to me like you might just need to download a camera app that will give you manual control over your audio. Check out something like filmic Pro or the Moment Pro Camera app. However I would recommend getting the Rode Wireless go to because not only is it a wireless microphone but it also is a 32-bit float recorder so it's going to be virtually impossible for you to clip your audio. The only way you're going to really mess up your audio is if your sound is so loud that it just overloads the microphones.

    At 2:13 its native mic but you boosted volume in post? If not, thats not bad...but you got to be relatively close with no loud bg noise, THATS when you need the external. Rhode is great at home when its close AND NEEDS post processing, less bg and more richer sound BUT I want a mic that just sounds GOOD without post. Wow on Saramonic BUT if I'm out and about I wonder if its a little too big. I got an Edutige EIM 003 with adaptor and special mount and its a cleaner & richer sound than native but too quiet, need boost 200-300% maybe even (like many of these). The Edutige EIM 001 WAS WAY TOO HOT (lots clipping even whispering)!!!! HOW DID YOU MAKE IT NOT CLIP NONSTOP? Shure as usual too quiet for such expensive price, I guess you could use their app to tweak sound but I want SIMPLE AND GO GO GO. Also you can get open bottomed cases, I even found one for iPhone 13 Pro. I think it'd work with SHURE. If at home recording I use an adaptor so it doesn't need to go directly into my phone but got a mount on a tripod with cold/hot shoe to hold my Rode Video Mic ME-L. Palovue sucky sound. Sennheiser too quiet and meh.

    @@TodayIFeelLike can you explain a little more or any tips how i can knock down the wind

  • @TodayIFeelLike

    @TodayIFeelLike

    2 жыл бұрын

    The best ways that I use to knock down when I'm filming myself is to use a wireless microphone and place that microphone underneath my clothing that way my clothing knocks down the wind. Contrary to popular belief microphones are not picking up audio coming directly from your mouth they're picking up audio that's coming more from your chest and throat area. So if you have a lavalier microphone something like a Rode Wireless Go or a Saramonic Blink 500 Pro and you have the transmitter underneath your clothing you're still going to capture your audio just fine and your clothing will knock down that wind. Now if you're using a shotgun microphone or another type of microphone that's on the camera itself you're going to want to use a dead cat or what some people call a furry wind puff so that can knocks down the wind. Generally the bigger the furry dead cat the more effective it is.

  • @TodayIFeelLike

    @TodayIFeelLike

    I don’t know why the gain on the Rode is so low either it makes no sense. I really like the MV88 the biggest problem for me is you can’t shoot with that microphone unless you put your phone in airplane mode which means you can’t live stream with it on the go also, it means if you start shooting with it and you forget to turn on airplane mode you’re likely going to have to re-shoot because you will have ruined your footage with bad audio. That’s one of the main reasons why I stopped using that mic, because there have been so many times I forgot to put the phone in airplane mode, only to find out that I had bad footage because of the audio

    Yes the iPhone mic sound really really good. The main downside to the iPhone mic is once you step away it starts to fall off because you're no longer close to it whereas with the wireless mic you always have the microphone close to you because it's on you.

    Sorry but I can't take seriously any review that bins a microphone regardless of any potential merits simply because the reviewer doesn't want to take their phone case off. You'd done a raft of tests, what were you thinking?!! Lunacy.

    I hear you but I am not willing to risk my $1500 phone because a mic manufacturer didn't make sure that their product could work with a case.

    All of these mics tested are worse than the iPhones built in mics because there not stereo! If you want the best external stereo mic then a zoom iq6 is the go!
