Spookeh This type of speed test was pioneered by phonebuff, he started it, it's his idea at least in this form- which everybody has since copied- that's why he calls it the 'phonebuff style' speed test- to remind everyone he started this craze years ago!- go back and compare the video dates. Yourtechguide also invented his own bespoke speed test that is more comprehensive, I look at both of them to get a good idea, I don't bother with any of the copycats.

I also noticed that, and think that had to do with the cracking on the s8 in the flat drop tests. The force of the impact was localized on the corners and edges, where the iphone's impact force was spread out over a larger surface area

THE EXYNOS NOTE 8 is faster than the snapdragon NOTE 8 so please use the exynos variant of the NOTE 8 for speed tests

Keep in mind its a 5.8 screen vs 4.7 which is a huge diff with them edges so sadly its prone to crack, both phones look fabulous but screen wise the s8 beats that by a long shot but iphone is catching up barely though it compares to a s6 which still has a bigger screen

It's not that the iPhone 8 necessarily has stronger glass, but since it has a flat piece of glass, it is, by nature, more durable than a curved glass like on the Galaxy S8. When the iPhone 8 hit the floor on the corners, it's actually hitting the aluminium bezel, while it's hitting the glass on the Galaxy S8.

I'm not really a fan boy for galaxy, but I would def pick it over the iPhone. But yeah, the iPhone 8 did better, but from a physics perspective it makes sense, as it's smaller and lighter.

*Cheater.* You forgot to mention a few things: - iPhone 8 didn't survive 8 falls last time and cracked immediately with the first fall front&back. - It has the same "strongest" glass. - It is much smaller than S8 (4.7" vs 5.8") and that is the only thing that saves it here (along with no curvature)

Ya they finally decided to use something other than sapphire. Before, the "sapphire" glass is resistant to scratches, but cracks easily.

David D'Amico Nope, this test is biased. See what happens at 2:37.. the phone drops in two different ways lol so he is clearly doing something suspicious.

Jere Kreivilä I've seen other tests and Apple's glass is at least better than their previous glass. Even when it spiderwebs it doesn't make as much of a jagged mess like their old glass used to

Do a water test after the drop test. To see which one is dirt/water resistant after being cracked.

just see after the phones are being dropped to ground at 2:37 in first camera and 2:39 at the second camera ... both are inconsistent.... which indicates he is cheating clearly and something is fishy

I have iphone but i recommend to buy note 8 instead of s8

could you really put the tech 21 cases to the test

My theory is that the smaller frame on the iP8 provides more density to the glass so it's more solid(?) compared to the iP8+

like a torture test type thing
