This guy makes a huge deal about having thin bezels which can't be justified. I'm typing this on a S7 Edge and when holding the S7 my palms always accidentally hit stuff on the screen. this issue is worse when gaming.

+chrisak49 the issue with accidently hitting stuff has nothing to do with thin bezels it's because the screen is edged. The palm rejection is not that great and it makes typing on the s7 edge harder. If you use the regular s7 it's a completely different story.

Matthew Moniz Of course it's worse on the edge but I had a Note 5 before this and ran into the same issue. I would hold the Note 5 in landscape mode to watch KZread and my palm at the bottom accidentally hits the video scrubbing toggle making the video skip to the end. Just saying there's some diminishing returns on having thin bezels. Sure Apple can make it thinner but idk if it's really helpful.

Anyone have some good ideas on how to hold a Samsung device in landscape mode without dropping it or accidentally hitting the capacitive buttons? on iPhone, I can hold it by the top and bottom bezel for stability. On the S7 can't really do that cause the button is full of capacitive buttons.

chrisak49 and don't forget because of the DUMB curves you can't even use a tempered glass screen protector on it. My iPhone 6s Plus has a nice tempered glass on that I bought for 10$. Can't go wrong with that! 🙌🏻

Sylvain Alain same here. I have a note 5 and I get a different phone every year. Already had a 6 plus and now have the 7plus. Compared to android iPhone plus models battery life is insane. There is absolutely nothing or tweaking I have to do to make the battery lost long. I do hate typing with the iPhone keyboard and 3rd party keyboards such as swift key. 3rd party keyboards are far superior on android . Guess one of the things that really bug me about iOS. Also the camera on my note 5 is superior to my 7 plus. With that said I really like my iPhone 7 plus.

Mark Navarro the iphone keyboard is my favorite part about iphones and the imessaging.......i would use the google keyboard on android which i thought was the best but not one has topped the iphone keyboard imo

I had the the Note 7 and it was my favorite Android ever! Couldn't believe it happened with three battery, but I had to give it back. Sooo...I took the leap to Apple for the first time in my entire life. Picked up the Iphone 7 plus 256gb, and you know what?... I'm never going back to Android. I'm no fanboy to any O's. But I loved there Note 7, but the battery life was horrible. I had to disable features to stop my Note from occasionally lagging. My iPhone goes on all day and night. Much easier to use, and the video and camera is simply Awesome. I think Android as a whole might be hurt as many people like myself will unbiasly take the leap from Android to Apple and feel as I do now. I used to root my phone's regularly, but it's really not needed on these iPhones. I'm mad about my Note 7, but I'm happy that I was able to get the Iphone 7 plus. As the next day the Verizon ran out and it won't be available till NOVEMBE

Hunter Miller numbers may say that, but I tend to go community results that I've seen around me, and I'm seeing a lot of people around me taking a chance on Apple as the Note 7 was the pinnacle Android smart phone for them. The Forbes report does mention that alternative Android devices have gained market share after the Samsung recall, especially the Nexus. However, they can't figure how much of the market share that the Iphone has gained since the product launch was after the Samsung recall, and they are backordered on nearly all of the phone's. So little to no phone's stock means no sales, profits, nor statistics,till inventory meets market demand. As mentioned before, I loved my Note 7. But I just had a chance to experience the other side, and I personally like it

Also going off community results I've also seen a lot of Apple users say they'll pass this year on the new iPhone and wait for the iPhone 7s or 8 when they change the design. Also most not all Note users are dedicated Android fans so I don't think the few that aren't (like yourself) will effect Android much. I'm probably gonna get the iPhone 7 or 7 plus (I'm still deciding which one) just to try out iPhone. I think the iPhone is a good phone but it's definitely overpriced

But I will say now that Apple has FINALLY added in features like water resistance, dual camera and dual speakers the price they are asking for isn't as overpriced as before

I wish reviewers would get their facts right. Amoled is great if you watch a lot of videos but for non-teens and business users, LCD is more efficient for white backgrounds as amoled uses about 2.2 more power with white than black. So office work and web stuff means battery life drains much quicker. And the extra brightness over 80% on amoled is not power efficient, it consumes 1.7 times more power at 100% (over 80%) for 1.2 times more brightness. So these so called good points are very negative for many users. I much prefer LCD due to amoled tending to flicker again doing anything productive (I suspect watching videos may be different but i dont watch films on a five inch screen as it kills the experience). I know Apple are developing a new LCD (micro-LED) that will enable higher resolution without the downgrade in performance or battery consumption. Hopefully they will restrain from OLED before that is ready. As for the iphone 7 plus being stale, most of us strap a case on and what it looks like is neither here nor there. We are not interested in change for change sake, because some get bored easy. I love Sony phones but they have not changed in 4 years (who cares as long as they do things right) and HTC that hasnt changed much in a few generations. If you want gimmicks and changes for change sake go with Samsung or LG. Though they didnt go down too well (G5 sales suck and N7 discontinued after a month). Sales of the iphone 7 will tell us if reviewers like you know what they are talking about...

hi you didn't have any issues with your 7plus? some complained about hissing, freezing etc... i got the 6plus and i loved it so much but i needed an upgrade from 1gb ram to 2-3gb ram and also camera, speed and most of all memory got the 64gb and i want to get the 7plus 256gb is it worth it? even without the 3mm Headphone jack? and I'm not sure if the home button is great as well... I'm also thinking of getting the 6splus 128gb in case home button of 7plus doesn't work for me

Great review. Well done. The 7 plus is my first iPhone since the 4 and must say I'm completely happy with the device. I mirror most everything you say. Overall performance is a good bit ahead of my s7 edge in both gaming and day to day use. It never lags, hasn't had any app crashes or slowdowns and has been a really good experience. Even though I wished for a more substantial redesign, my 256gb matte black 7plus is really nice looking device Again, great review and continued success.

Phil Harris definitely a bit of a work around getting used to IOS again but it's been a pleasurable experience. Everything is really smooth. I just got myself an iPad mini 4 LTE for work on the road now as my Samsung tablet but the bullet a few days ago and isn't worth the repair. I just wished more people would comment based on user experience rather than fanboy adrenaline. Glad you are liking your Iphone7 +

Lonzetta-Kelley Allen I've really enjoyed it. It's fast, smooth and gives very reliable performance and that's what I want. Apps are so well optimized and never crash or force close, dual cameras are really good, battery life last me all day and I use my device heavily. Build quality is excellent. There isn't really a weakness IMO. It's really a solid all around device. You will love it.

hi, I am writing this in February 2017 and I have a iPhone 5s which keeps freezing and the sensitivity of the screen isn't very responsive and I have to keep on restarting it around 10 to15 times a day. I cant wait for the iPhone 8 because it is the 10th anniversary of iPhone so it will be amazing and it is hallway there and the iPhone 7 plus is half a year old now and when the iPhone 8 comes out will the iPhone 7 plus be outdated and old but I don't know how long I can last with my iPhone 5s. Should I upgrade now or wait 7 and a half months till the next iPhone? thanks for reading and please respond soon :)

Grindz247 It's super easy. I download the android to IOS app on my note 5 first. In the iPhone set up it will ask you if you are switching over from android. Once you reply yes it will ask you to open up that app and will start syncing your old android to your new iPhone. After its done all of your pics, vids and contacts will be on your iPhone. Super simple. You will have to make sure you have your google account set up first and sync everything to the google account

I'm currently using iPhone 7 Plus, and the experience would be much better if iOS was optimized to take advantage of the fast hardware. iOS preformed better on the 6S than it does on the 7.

True, but its not so bad. Yes, there is a lot of negates, but they don't out way the positives. Like having a water resistant phone. Without the jack it makes it posable to make it water resistent. Also, it might be worst to not have a jack, but I have used the 7 for 2 weeks now and its not much of a difference.

Dr.Quackduck i still understand where hes coming from For me i dont think its that big of a deal, just a bit annoying but definitely not a dealbreaker Anyways, that being said, apple did take out the headphone jack for a reason. Personally i believe its mostly to try and make more money but they did also say they wanted to add certain functionalities and in order to do that they needed to remove the headphone jack.

Ben Sachs I think it doesn't take into account people who don't have Bluetooth accessibility constantly. I am an example of this. My car does not have Bluetooth as it is a little old. I can get a phone upgrade with semi ease but I can't get a new car. I need my phone to be connected to the aux cord and charging to maintain the use I need while I drive. Then to have to spend even more money and time obtaining adapters is excessive imo. ( that's my biggest problem though I will still probably get it as I'll have to get use to it)

oneflesh4eva I originally am a Samsung fan lol but i switched to IPhone a couple of weeks ago. I have the iPhone 7 plus 256gig. To be honest. The iPhone system is simple. Easy to get used to and to the point. I really do enjoy how smooth the system runs compared to the android galaxy s7 I had. Feels more sophisticated. I would highly recommend it to you!

oneflesh4eva I made the switch from Android Note 7 to Iphone 7plus 256 GB just to try out iOS. Unless Android can come up with a miracle ungrade to their OS, in sticking with iOS for the long haul. Just a rock solid platformm. I also bought my wife the Iphone 6s 128 GB plus yesterday because it was a lot cheaper. Overall you won't notice a major difference unless they are both side by side. You will love the 6s plus as much as the 7 plus, but for a few hundred dollars less. They are both outstanding devices. The Verizon store went to had a lot of people returning their Note 7's or just trying to get any Iphone plus sized phone. I understand why.

Chase Vineland well with that said, this phone still wins in terms or the majority of benchmark scores

1. A good camera, but not as good as the competition. 2. A good quality display, but using outdated technology and low resolution. 3. Bland design, especially compared to the competition. 4. No video watching/music listening while charging, unless you use the speaker 5. Expensive as always - Premium Midrange are stacking up to become a great alternative 6. Still no way of picking default apps, but atleast you can hide most of the Apple apps now. 7. Fastest processor and good speakers. 8. Water resistance, yet not as good as the competiton. Overall, I can't believe they can pull this off still.

***** Yes you do. When you are anywhere else than home. You're a major douce if you're listening to music in the train or bus without headphones. Same if you in school or work or whatever. Also if you're running or doing other exercise you cant really use the speaker.

***** I never said that. Did you read it? I said it has a high quality display. But that still doesn't change that it has 4 times less the resolution than all other phones at that price point (which does make a difference, especially for specific uses like VR) And also, the fact that it doesn't use OLED, is almost ridiculous. Not only does that give superior contrast and color accuracy (Even if the iPhone already does that well) it also saves a shit ton of battery and allows for features like always on displays.

***** There's simply no contest. Any high end AMOLED display is better than the iPhones. You might think otherwise, but that doesn't matter if 99% of people think you are wrong - Which they do. Google it.

Sotos Mathew I'm not even lying, all I do is game and other stuff which is fun for me. If you wanna go beyond that and do all this extra stuff, then by all means get an Android. I have no need for all of that extra nonsense. Never had to jailbreak it and I have no intentions to. My iPhone 7 is perfect to me in all ways. That's actually one of the reasons why they are discontinuing the note 7. They confuse a PC with a phone; trying to add too much nonsense and it's putting too much of a load on a small device; which causes the battery to not act correctly. I like customization especially on my custom rig, but I have no need for it on a phone.

i really want the iphone 7 plus in Jet black is looks sleek but after your review im a little undecided also ive been a samsung note 2 and 5 holder and until my kids broke them im stuck with an s4 wanna switch back to ios also what do you think abouy the oppp F1s and a budget phone and camera wise?

I'm an android user thinking about buying this, help me out. Can I customize the home screen as far as the icons? I like to have the top blank with several rows of apps on the dock, is this possible?

Apple does not pay their reviewers. Apple also does not false advertise, as it is very much against the law and unethical. Something that Apple is strongly against. There is nothing different about the iPhone that Apple hasn't said publicly.

+Jj Li nope it won't. It's smart enough to stop the charging when it doesn't need it anymore.

I ordered my plus 3 weeks ago and it's not expected to come for another 5 weeks :( ridiculous

Upgraded today from a 16GB iPhone 5 to a 256GB iPhone 7. The speed is just incredible and it is still small enough to use one handed.

If performance is a huge deal to me, should I get the Plus over the regular 7 because it has an extra gig of ram? Might be too big though.

Great video!! What kind of music would you recommend for the gym? I'm not an audiophile at all, so I have no clue, just need some adrenaline pump!!

6s+ if you want to save some money. It's still a beast of a phone.

Nice video, I made a change from android to IOS to the iPhone 7Plus 128g. and I'm loving it. I don't like the fact that I can install widget on the home screen or rearrange the icons but for the other things I'm enjoying the experience. Keep the good work.

I preordered my jet black 7 plus, 128gb on Thursday and got a message saying my phone was in 18 hours later. Really like this phone.

Well I just got my iPhone 7 plus 256 gig on Thursday evening it's not my mat black what I wanted but it's my second pick witch is silver, it's very slick looking and I love the feeling , everything is amazing I love my 7 plus the camera is to die for I love that live feature it's amazing it was well worth the two week wait in my opinion

Falwin Horison it's waay too big for me. Switched from a 6+ to the smaller 7 and i Made the right decision as the plus models are almost impossible for one handed use and they're heavy!

is migrating to a new phone (android to android) easier with android marshmallow? or is it still just as painful?

i am using a galaxy A5 and i started having some issues after the new update. i have my A5 for a year and 3 months and i am thinking to switch to iPhone 7 plus but i also never owned an iphone

Apple sucks at producing phones on time

There's still a head phone jack, it's just the same as the charging port now. Not a big deal unless u r charging and using headphones at the same time

hey Matthew. i for now have an galaxy s4 i am thinking about an upgrade .the iphone 7 plus looks like a nice upgrade but i don't if i would like the ios plus the headphone jack is the #1 thing in my list . but if i choose the s7 edge i will have the slow touchwiz and maybe the uncomfortable edges , i choose the edge because of the 5.5 display. so what would you do ??
