iPhone 15 Pro Review: An Android User's Perspective!

Ғылым және технология

The iPhone dominated smartphone sales in the first half of 2023. As someone who typically prefers an android phone for day-to-day use, every year I try my best to give the iPhone a fair shot to see what Apple’s got cooking up. So, here we are: This is the iPhone 15 Pro in Titanium Blue!

Although I've been using Galaxy phones since the Galaxy Nexus, then I came back for the Note2 and stuck around ever since. I still look forward to Apple and everyone else's improvements to keep Samsung on its toes. Competition is good us all.

Totally agree!!! It's the competition (especially Apple) that forces Samsung to work on video quality, animations, etc. Now, the high-resolution modes are becoming an issue (kind of): I still can't believe that Apple has managed to make 24mp photos without compromising the HDR or the processing time.

@girardjeremie1939 I'm still on the S22U which is the best phone I've ever owned. And the camera is insane. But I do look forward to getting the S24U because after seeing how much better the camera's video quality and stabilization are on the S23U I can only imagine how polished everything will be on the S24U.

Samsung user since S10 switched from iPhone. Each September I watch reviews on the latest iPhones looking for a good enough reason to go back to iPhone but find myself sticking with Samsung each time. Both are great devices but I just think Samsung is better for me and iPhone lacks features I love on Android.

@@pauloarenas4956You're right, to each his own. Both are great phones. Competition is much tighter than it used to be. For those who say either Android or IOS is garbage they are not being truthful because they are both good. Maybe someday I will give Apple another shot, but for now I prefer Samsung so much more.

I am the same with S10e. Every year I watch some vids to quickly realise new phones are like 5% better and my s10e never missed a beat, never froze or did anything that truly makes me want to upgrade. It works consistently amazing w excellent flat screen, headphone socket, sdcard and great camera. And it's and Exynos variant not the Snapdragon and I never had any hiccup.

I’ve had my iPhone 15 Pro Max for a week and I am enjoying it over my 13 Pro Max. My favorite series will always be the Samsung note galaxy note 7 that was my favorite phone of all time, but he kept taking it away from me 😞. I know it wasn’t safe. Excellent balanced review. Subscribed. The major carriers are offering really good trade-ins deals that offer up to 100% off the price of the iPhone 15 Pro, which appears to be targeted at those just finishing a 2 year contract. I like the detail the 48Mp main camera on the 15 Pro offers, since I want to take photos and later zoom in to be able to read text, etc. The action button is also a plus, since I often miss photos fiddling around with the slide unlock to get to the camera quickly.

As someone who's been loving the google Pixel more than any other smartphone, Im actually "blown away" by iPhone 15 Pro. The display is capable of producing 2500 nits.... more than any Samsung or Google smartphone. The camera is better than the pixel this time around with less of that sharpened look. The telephoto lens on the Pro Max model is capable of taking better 25x zoom photos than the Galaxy Ultra in low light conditions. And Astrophotography is finally here on iPhone albeit Apple made zero mention of it for some reason. I am a camera person and so I must say iPhone 15 Pro is the phone for me this year as it has the best and most accurate portrait mode photos ive ever seen on a smartphone. The foreground and background separation in portrait mode is something I don't see on other smartphone cameras. It is more closer to a DSLR than any phone ive seen.

I tried the iPhone 15 Pro after having a Pixel 6A and felt a lot of the same things. It made me appreciate Android a lot more, things like the back gesture would just make sense on iOS and it feels incomplete without it. I ended up returning the iPhone and got an S23+ and have loved it! Still, since I have a Mac and had several iPads throughout the years I really wanted to like the iPhone so I'm hoping they step up their game next year.

Left iPhone a decade ago due to the locked down nature of it. Tired of jailbreaking to gain basic functionality (that is now considered standard in phones) like notifications, quick toggles & file management. I think the addition of USB-C and especially the Log format filming as a full-time content creator has me ready to come back. Android and Apple/iOS have converged towards one another over the years. They're honestly a very similar experience these days. I have loved using my S22U and think it's easily the best Android experience yet, but I think the iPhone 15 is the better option

I really love the aesthetic of iPhone and how optimized their softwares are but the freedom of Android is still my major reason not to let go. Will stay away from foldables at the moment and use the standard bar phones, Samsung Galaxy Ultra series (until they've perfected the hinge technology). Kudos again 👏 😊

The way the back gesture works on iPhones irritates the hell out of me everytime I use an iPhone, for the reasons you describe. It's also annoying that it only works swiping from the left edge, which is the worst position for anyone using their phone with their right hand. I really don't like the way scrolling works in iOS either, it's like the screen is stuck in mud. At least with Samsung phones, if there's something that does annoy you, there's nearly always a way to customise it to your liking. With the iPhone (and Pixel phones), you're completely stuck with what you're given.

The lack of consistent "back button" gesture was (for me) the hardest thing the get used to after i switched from Android. Other than that the settings.. It took some time to learn that every important setting is in the settings "app" and not in the current app that I'm using. And in the control center, I liked on xiaomi when I tap the clock it navigates me to the settings to set up the alarms. Same as the wifi. When I long pressed the wifi icon in the control center, it navigated me to the wifi settings. These small things I'm missing currently. But overall the ios experience is smoother imo.

The Action Button, USB-C port, better cameras, and Titanium build all add up to change the user experience and upgrade the user experience. The Galaxy Fold is a nice foldable but Samsung has changed nothing except the hinge in 3 years so if we put things in perspective…the iPhone has changed more and we can add Galaxy phones to that conversation too. The Action Button is going to be the next big thing on Android phones…I use my for Google Assistant, ChatGPT, Mute Switch, Screen Lock, and a Calculator and it’s awesome

Speakers on my 13 Pro are still amazing and same for 4K30 videos. iOS 17 works well on my 13 Pro, no bugs right now. Using an Android too, i can tell there is a lot for iOS 😅: Navigation Gestures, Floating windows, Customization, Link to Windows. Action button should be placed a lit bit on the bottom. This new iPhone pro is an improvement but only if you own something like a 12/12Pro and behind.

Your comment is false. I upgraded from the 14 Pro Max and the 15 Pro Max is a different phone completely. Titanium build makes it lighter, USB-C charging is different, new speakers are way louder, new modem gets faster speeds and better reception, cameras got a huge upgrade with zoom & selfies & night mode, bezels got smaller, and the Action Button changes the entire user experience. Mine is set to pull up Google Assistant, ChatGPT, Mute Switch, Screen Lock, and a Calculator. If you look at one single feature it might seem minor but once you add up all the changes…they are a big deal and things the older iPhones can’t do

Neither Apple nor anybody else can pressure me to buy a product 18 months later ( i bought Alpine Green version in March 2022 ) if my phone still works well. Improvements between my 13 Pro and this 15 Pro are not enough. Since resale value is not something important for me, i keep my Alpine Green and clear case i bought specially for that 😅

I have also brought my partners iPad Air and loving it. It’s what made me make the switch. I Thought having the phone and the iPad together would be a great combination.

I like your fair assessment of the I phone..I upgraded my 14 pro max for the action button, titanium and USB-c…all noticeable changes for me, it may be boring but I value simplicity. This is a subtle design change that IMO makes a huge difference, they made the camera bezels flush with the lens. I could not stand the 14 pro max because it became a constant lint, debris magnet.

Having transitioned from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I can share that the battery life is exactly the same. A day at best, but any video usage (youtube or recording) quickly requires a mid-day battery top-up. I miss the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which easily did a day and a half with regular use (including video). I'm blaming Always On Display (AOD), but it's a feature I can't do without now.

Function wise (for daily office use particulary)..s23u is def better but 15pm also very nice to use. Build quality wise i give an edge to ip15pm eventho both build are premium..but ip15pm is a little nicer to my hands..and this titanium version is actually significantly lighter than previous version which is a great plus for me. If u want a smartphone that can do many things without firstly need to do this and that..get the android for sure! (s23u in my case). But if u care about apple ecosystem...then no doubt get the iphone...apple ecosystem is just unbeatable and i like it a lot. Both phones (ip15pm and s23u) either one wont make u dissappointed..thats for sure.

I'm holding on to my 3 year old iPhone 11 Pro Max for another year You can organise your apps into customised folders. It's just more cumbersome. I have ONLY 4 apps on my HOME SCREEN in the DOCK. Just like my Samsung phone having only 5 apps in its DOCK.

I’ve been a Samsung user since the galaxy mini, up too the z fold 3 up until the z fold 4 came out, I then decided to try Apple and see what all the fuss was about and got the I phone 13 pro max 1tb and I did like it my z fold ended up getting dust under the screen and got dead pixels so just stayed with the 13 pro max but I quite liked it with the 15pro max they’ve made a lot of improvements and some they didn’t even mention in the announcement so I’ll be sticking with Apple and get the 15pro max 1tb. There’s a lot of changes but people say it’s the same because it looks similar, well you can only change phone so much that’s like complaining about a car having wheels and windows.
