Dang Danny no equipment at all? That's just wild and I do have to agree that this is the best phone footage you can get from a phone especially if you didn't use any accessories. Wow. I really don't like iOS all that much but I'm tempted to switch for the memories I could capture without all the extra work. How much storage did this video take up?

Just watched your Disney footage w/o LOG encoding. I can’t say I see any real improvement here. The iPhone native camera app does an amazing job! Oh course your skills help too 👏🏻

Im an android and iOS user I been using the s series for the last 8yrs. Just switched to the iPhone 15 pro max since the iPhone X. I love the s23 ultra but I’m very just disappointed on how they haven’t perfected the artifacting and noise when in low light video. They need to tone down the over-sharpen video as well. I don’t know what apple does with there processing in low video and video in general is amazing to me. If the s24 ultra doesn’t do anything with the noisy video at night then I’m not upgrading hands down 👌🏽

I have seen several 8K Pro Video recordings with Samsung, and I think they provide better quality than Apple

The grading is super easy with the LUTS I linked in the description. Yes it has helped tremendously since I imported almost 200GB of footage! 😱

It’s actually super easy so I am not sure it would be a great tutorial 🤣 I used the Luts that are in the description and I edit with Final Cut Pro. I did some color correction but that is really it.

Looks amazing! I still have to wait a month+ for mine to come though 😥

I would say the only phone to rival Apple is Sony with the Xperia 1 V but you would have to do a bit more work(ND filter at least) to get this kind of footage but get the benefit of shooting 4k120 footage as well with much smaller file sizes I'm guessing.

Do camera comparasion with pixel 8 pro vs galaxy s23 ultra vs 15 pro max

Awesome footage. I saw from PetaPixel/Dpreview's review of the iPhone 15 Pro Max that the experience of shooting in ProRes log isn't the easiest because you don't have a basic conversion LUT like you would in a real camera to see, for example, the Rec709 output, and you don't have things like zebras to know if your exposure is right. But it looks like you did a good job getting exposure right. How would you say the experience was in shooting with ProRes log mode? Things like controlling shutter speed, ISO, and nailing exposure. I've been shooting a lot of HDR10+ Pro Mode video on the S23 Ultra, and would love to see Samsung introduce it's own log format (S-log? Lmao, Sony and Samsung log formats would have the same name. SM-log?) with little to no sharpening applied.

I honestly did nothing different. Most of the time the exposure is great. If at all you have to expose down to pull up in harder dynamic range situations. If you are a Final Cut user as soon as you import the footage Apple Log is automatically converted to Rec 709. Easy as pie. But I did use a LUT pack to grade this video linked in the description

I'm assuming since you didnt use any SSD's, you have the 1tb iPhone 15 Pro Max? And approximately what was the total storage consumed on your phone for all this ProRes Log footage? Just asking as I'm stuck between purchasing the 512gb or 1tb spec 15 Pro Max on a budget.

It was about 320GB of footage. I would honestly just use a SSD or SD card.

Yes the sensors are not quite the same. Also ProRes LOG video is only in the Pro Models

My other question to you is how did you get your aspect ratio to seem wider than 16:9. On KZread the video stretches from the Dynamic Island on my iphone almost to the other side. Is this a setting you have?

Yes I exported it in a different aspect ratio optimized for smartphone screens.

I am not having any heat issues with the 15 Pro as of right now. I honestly never had that issue with my 15 Pro and Pro Max but I guess it all depends.

I looked him up and found him on bandcamp. I bought that album. Gave him $13 and got in touch with him. Cool guy. Said he knows you and we agreed you're a great guy. 👍 We had a great connection.
