£200, pix 7 pro is a 6.7" screen so you have to compare to the 14 pro max, so £849 v £1,199...£350 in my calc, or iphone is 41.2% more expensive...and yes, iphone video is better, but not by that big a margin..and pictures, you'll be happy with either..so giving it to pixel due to price

The iphone here in France is 1400€ and the pixel is only "900€" if it was my money I would gladly be happy with the pixel ☺️

@@TravelwithJom2003on what basis do u define "best" lmao?? the pixel experience is second to no other phone currently...call filtering,audio enhancmenet, unblur, magic eraser, live transcribe and so many more. other than facetime and imessage (which pixel has alternatives for), the iphone has got nothing over the epixel 7 pro .NOTHING!!!! but the pixel has got a lot over the iphone

Pixel 7 Pro costs 65% that of an iPhone 14 Pro in India. (Around €565 less 😅) If just buying for photography then would definitely consider 7 Pro.

I'm in Western Australia. With the same size memory selected the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs almost 2.5 times what the Pixel 7 Pro does! Pixel is a price/performance beast. Recent updates have made things like Cinematic mode a lot better too.

Pixel nailed it, incredibly impressed. At £599 and £849 that's an incredible camera system at that price point. Surely the Pixel 7 at £599 has to be the camera king for non flagship phones. For me personally, overall for the things I care about the Pixel comes out on top for best overall camera system.

@@oneheadlight8000 I did, and I've got to say that the IPhone beats the pixel by a lot in terms of video, but they are a lot closer and more of a subjective choice when it comes to photo. If the other guy is like me, and doesn't really care too much about video (specially portrait video), the pixel can be the better choice :)

@@pere_gin I agree.. somewhat.. the Pixel is a great picture shooter .. there are a lot of noise issues in low light though. The video isn't that close at all.. I use video for my job a lot so I need that. I do have a pixel 7 pro and an iphone 13pro.. love the Pixel but the iphones cameras are much more consistent in general (both photos and videos).. You can really tell when you shoot raw images.. You can see then that the quality of the hardware is lacking on Pixel compared to the iPhone. Google is doing a lot of magic with software. I believe that is why video suffers so much.. it is much more difficult to process and adjust video quickly with software.

@@pere_gin Night mode does take much longer on picel. About double the time. Very bad when people are moving. And in the video is no word about 48mp pro raw pictures. Than you have much more details in the fotos. And the oversharpening Effekt is also gone

My Pixel 7 Pro arrives tomorrow to replace my Pixel 5. Just prefer the clear and crisp Android experience and Astro mode is awesome too. Pixel all the way for me.

Thank you for uploading a great comparison video. I felt that the biggest difference between the iPhone and Pixel was the auto white balance feature. I felt that the color of the iPhone was my favorite in many scenes.

The Night Sight processing isn't why it takes the photos faster. It is that you can now customize the length of the night Sight shots.

Closer than i thought. But Pixel lower price is a massive pull.

Cinematic mode on the iPhone was different to Samsungs static blur. The background depth of field is dynamic like a real DSLR and can rack focus.

Specs differences are minor but the Price Gap is Huge. So you know, which one to go for 😉

Thanks for the video. Both have excellent cameras. The camera quality is in this case not the aspect that should be relevant for making the choice. Please, just in case you compared P7 with S21U, do not forget the unblur (remaster picture) on S21U, or the object eraser.

I've used Samsungs, iPhones, Pixels, Huaweis and it surprises me how tech reviewers fail to mention the zoom capability of the front cameras (both photo and video up to 4x) on the pixel phones. That gives it an edge over other phones, at least in terms of camera versatility. Granted it may not be the most useful feature in a front camera for most people but it is always better to have it than to not have it. And no other phone has it.

Is there a micro lens in the pixel 7 or software??

As an amateur astrophotographer it's simply insane what the pixel did in 3 and a half mintues. You're getting a good part of the milky way galaxy with an almost full moon on a smart phone. I have no words, wow just wow. Though it's nowhere close to what a dslr or a mirror less camera could do in a 30s exposure it still goes to show you how much google has improved and how they're making astrophotography (widefield) accessable.

An actually useful demonstration! Excellent work. Thanks for including the audio recording on both phones as well.

Damn pixel nailed it this year, it would have been nice if we had a bit more on the pixels zoom capabilities

Great video, I have a Pixel coming tomorrow I can't wait. I am upgrading from a OnePlus 6 so big jump.

I have had the pixel 6 pro for a year now and it's really good so far. I don't think I need to upgrade this year, I didn't see big improvements in terms of camera and I saw another video about the performance and the same thing there isn't anything worth upgrading. I'll wait for the 8 pro I think it'll be more worth it. The only thing I hope they'll work better on is low light videos/photos. Other than that I'm really happy with what I have now.

At 3:49 I noticed how the iPhone made Sarah's skin tone a tad warm/yellowish. I really want to use the iPhone to vlog but I find the yellowing/warming of the skin very frustrating. Is there a way to change that or a setting to adjust to stop the iPhone camera from making skin color yellow, warm, even sometimes kind of orange? Thanks

Exactly as you said "with a bit of role-reversal" in picture brightness......I was disappointed with the P6P and ultimately returned it, but am pretty excited now seeing your results with the P7P.

I really like the all the machine learning magic Google bakes into the pixels camera, and it's super useful to have a longer telephoto lens. I may be team Android, but there's no denying the video prowess of the iPhone is amazing. Every generation they just dump all over the competition in terms of video.

If you can find it (it's no longer sold new): A Scansnap IX500. There is also an Evernote edition which you can convert easily (software update) to make it a Scansnap IX500 too. It''s able to just take a stack of photos and scan them, as if its a printer. If you have a lot of photo''s you don''t want to put every image into a scanner, single scan, next one. It also works through Wifi so you don't even need to connect it to a PC to scan!

Photo quality is a tie I would say. Sometimes iPhone is better, sometimes Pixel is better. Other times the quality is the same (you can barely tell the difference) But in video quality as has been the case for the last 6 years, iPhone is still ahead of any other phone. Google did a good job of catching up in the video department this year and it's quite good... but still behind the iPhone.

Apples camera software is definitely more fine tuned but hopefully (🤞) Google continue to work on theirs and in a years time it matches Apple in areas like transitioning between different levels of zoom, cinematic mode etc

Pixel for photos + zoom, iphone for video

Loved my Pixel 4XL until it started to play up and i was forced to switch, ended up with s21ultra which is great but i wont be gutted to leave it behind for new pixel7pro when my contract runs out next year

Really amazed that pixel pulled out so far with their cameras and minds are blown. I jumped the ship after waiting for P6 last year from Android to iOS with the IP 13. Since video and photo quality mattered a lot to me and iPhone is still ahead even this year in video in the harshest of conditions plus content creation aspects with ProRaw and ProRes are just next level. But if I wouldn't have switched to iOS I may have just stayed with Android and P7 pro and also if video (specially at low light) didn't matter to me as well. Still, anyone who doesn't care about the video that much (it's a 8 to 9.5 comparison anyways) should go with the pixel 7. I mean i love the features and what tensor can do, it is kind of the smartest phone around and I'm so jealous right now that why didn't this happen last year.

It seems like google has the software advantage and the zoom while Apple has the remaining hardware advantage. Given the available apps, hardware that handles the low-light preventing noise is vital where as a long zoom is a luxury for me. Thanks for such an incredible side by side!!!

Lets not forget that Google WILL update the camera to fix alot of the initial processing problems like they always do whereas on the iPhone, you're stuck with its hit or miss software.

I'm not surprised that iPhone holds the crown for video, and the pixel for photo. I really wish Apple would add astrophotography tools for those of us into that sort of thing! The accuracy of the colours with the Pixel is crazy good! 🔥iPhone strangely most of the time shows fake colours , like having an effect always applied..

Correction: Photo Sphere isn't what you said. Basically, it allows you to capture a 'sphere' of multiple photos that it will stitch into a navigable 360° photo in case you wish to save that memory. A really amazing feature.

2 very important things I like more on the iPhone were missing in the test. 1. night mode shots take much longer than on the iPhone. 2. No word of 48 mp pro raw. When you use this setting nothing is oversharpened anymore. And you have much more detail when zooming in.

thank you Tom! for the sharing comparisons of this new flagship phones of 2022. it is really grateful for the persons what really they needs to buy for what they want to upgrade like me to decides which one to buy. but for the price of both this phones are, to save money it is better to get P7P. since iphone 14pro max is not enough upgrade for this year and very pricely...

Both look great. From the reviews I have seen and read 'till now, both are 'minor' upgrades compared to last gen regarding the camera's. A bit better, but nothing revolutionary.

What happened to the iPhone's photos these days? They are way too sharp. Contrast is through the roof. It's so weird to see Apple going in the opposite direction of what it used to do. I guess the 'natural look' is no more.

A lot of reviewers have mentioned over sharpening it’s quite possible that Apple could adjust that in software on iOS 16.1 which will be coming out at the end of this month

They're both amazing, equally impressive, mostly. But I'm still in awe of video quality of my old 2nd gen iPhone SE and watching this because I'm considering a Pixel for my next phone.

I heard you say that the magic eraser is exclusive to pixel . Although the galaxy s22 ultra has a object remover located in the gallery . When there you select edit then select the three dots in right hand corner and object eraser can be selected.

I've used my wifes iPhone 14 Pro quite a bit. This review perfectly echoes what I've seen. When the iPhone lands its shot it looks mind blowingly good. But it sincerely over sharpens. The pixel looks a bit "safer" with its processing. I would have liked to see a small section of the video showing RAW shooting but I'm aware I'm in the minority. Amazing review Tom. Thank you

I saw someone else's video, that noise on slightly lower light conditions seems to be there in some shots. It seems inconsistent for now. I hope pixel fixes that with updates.
