We need a video of the Z fold 5 vs iPhone 15 pro max

Z Fold 5 takes the W despite the A16 Bionic supposedly being more powerful. It goes to show that Geekbench scores don't mean much at all when it comes to real world performance. My S23 Ultra, which has the same chip as the Z Fold 5, is incredibly powerful and smooth. Great video, Nick! I really enjoy these speed tests!

Yall need to remember you're comparing last year's iPhone with this year's Fold. I haven't followed as closely as I used to but new iPhones come around and smoke or otherwise beat basically every Android phone every year lol.

@Taima False. The iPhone that launches at the end of the year competes with the Ultra that launches in February after it, and the Fold that launches 6 months after that. The iPhone 15 would be matched against the S24U and Fold6. Either way, whichever way you spin it, those geekbench scores are never reflected in real life for the bionic.

@zangiYT There's upgrablity BUT you're not getting that much more performance next yea. It's all on qualcomm, and believe it or not apple is still better at gaming with mobile devices. Samsung can get improvements, but it definitely won't be a super performance based upgrade next year because that would need to accommodate battery and heat, brightness, and optimization, which would cause more money to be needed. The trend is every few phones, there are actual performance gains

Idk if you know this already, but for the Samsung you can go into developer options and change the animation speeds to .5x which will open the apps faster. Idk if that's cheating, but makes the phone feel so much snappier.

@@nickackermanchannel I think the Face ID is too sensitive though, I’ve left my phone on a stand or a table, if I walk by sometimes, it’ll actually unlock. If there wasn’t a swipe to open and it just opened by itself, then my phone would be exposed. Idk I just like making the decision to ultimately “open” it myself.

FOLD4 owner here, even I shifted from 13ProMax and was used to swiping up. You can enable the swipe to unlock from settings.

My iPhone 14 pro max gets extremely hot and dims it also drops frame rate when playing PUBG mobile for more than 30 min which I think is crazy. What’s the point of so much power if it cannot sustain it, also when gaming and need to charge it won’t charge because it’s hot which I think is worst. 😅

Are you playing at high brightness on 5G? I see people do that, and I wonder what the...You do not have to play at max settings if you want sustained performance. I saw a test of the Flip 5, which is a similar price to the iPhone 14 Pro, which throttled 50% in 10 mins. Guess what? Even gaming phones throttle unless you use their fans.

@@andyH_England nope, i turn off background app refresh 5g and location and I play at 80% brightness, I was testing a Xiaomi phone without turning anything off and it had a way better performance no dim, no fps drop and it did not get that hot.

I have zflip 4 and iphone 14pro iPhone definitely have some cellular issue. The cellular bar is so low. This makes the data so slow which frustrates me during work. Apple really needs to fix this on their next iphone

Seems like the swipe up Animation is ah bit better on the fold compared to the phone 🤔 I like both devices

It's literally an animation speed difference, not actual performance. Jailbroken iPhones used to be able to change speed or remove them entirely and they'd be even faster. Apple prefers smooth to snappy.

Comparing apples and oranges.

3d mark application test is more accurate then the Geekbench application the accuracy is showed on the 3d mark which is pretty close to reality but Geekbench it's accuracy of measurement is not as Accurate as 3d mark

3d mark testing GPU geekbench cpu too. Bionics are faster in terms of cpu but qualcom got better gpu. Its also 1 year old. Excited for the 3nm A17 chipset

@@zangiYT gen3 will not be om 3nm. And s24 might also come with exynos. Fold5 will compete with 15 pro, they lauch 1 month apart, s23u and 15 pro both launch 2023. And 15 pro max will probably be the most sold 2023 phone. Guess it will be the best phone of 2023 too, but we will have to wait and see

Well it comsumed more battery on the Samsung. I know it's a bigger screen but bigger battery as well. At the point of the geekbench the iphone was at 96 and the Samsung was at 85. It's a 10% drop it's huge thoughout a day. But still nice performance on the Samsung end !

The reason why the iphone started loading slower is becase the background apps😢

In a respectful Apple just makes sense I choose Apple over Samsung mainly because I always drop them I would like to use one of Samsungs folds but the iPhone is smaller and easier for me to type on so on an everyday use iPhone wins for me

I have them both. Z fold 5 is far superior in every test ive done.

My dad and i tested the z fold 5 vs the 15 pro max and the z fold 5 came out on top everytime. My dad just traded the 15 pro max in for the z fold 5. We both were lifetime ios users but the z fold 5 is just better. Android is amazing now and with a foldable phone it just makes sense. You could do so much with android its crazy.

Well Samsung phone are powerful and secure as well like iPhone does not give you the finger print sensor and same goes for Samsung .It doesn't give you face id . But both phones are 100 percent secure it's your preference whether you like finger print biometric or face Id

Just got the phone its still adapting also I ran benchmarks which taxes the battery

Both phones are great. At the the end it only depends on what OS you prefer and if you really need a foldable phone or not. I prefer iOS and don‘t need a bigger display. ✌🏻

iPhone gets boring pretty quick. It's an all-around superb device but much like with every other Apple product, you get used to it after the first 10 minutes and stop noticing all the features. I think Samsung is more fun and flexible (literally). I'd like to have both, but if I had to choose, I'd stick with iPhone.

Research two years ago shows that 3D Face ID is 10X more secure than FP scanners. I have not seen any recent research, so that gap may have closed. 2D face recognition is not biometrically secure, so it cannot be used in banking apps and is not recommended. It is more for convenience.
