iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen, Apple Pencil 2nd Gen skipping Problem
Apple Pencil 2nd Gen Skipping on iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen screen, while finger works normally. So far this has stumped the Senior Apple Technical Specialists, although it appears to be a software, rather than hardware problem.

i have same problem but after changing new screen because original was cracked before when was original screen i haven’t this problem so 😢
Ok, here’s an update. The problem iPad now being 5 years old, it’s seen some wear. Looking back, prior to having this pencil issue the iPad was once sat on (in its Folio case, very briefly) while on a car seat. It once dropped onto blacktop from a good 4 feet. In both cases, the iPad continued to function normally and no serious damage or discrepancies were immediately seen. However, I have had the USB-C charging port fail on two occasions (would not charge), having it repaired by 3rd parties both times, the second time recently. That technician noted that the case was bent slightly, complicating re-adhesion of the flat screen. Once the screen was reattached, the pencil issue changed. Initially it appeared that I could draw anywhere on the screen, but I had to apply greater pressure. As there appears to be no ‘recalibration’ of the Pencil/Screen, I tried using using different pencils and eventually had completely normal pencil behavior again: light pressure initiates drawing and the full range of dynamic pressure behaves as expected. Unfortunately this normal behavior hasn’t been persistent. The upshot is this: when areas of the screen are not responsive to the pencil it may be an indication that the screen has seen some stresses from use and that simply re-seating the screen on the case may resolve the skipping problem. Note that newer generations of the iPad Pro 12.9 are a full 0.5mm thicker (and heavier) making them stiffer and less prone to bending. Also, at some point spending more to repair an old iPad no longer pencils out. These 3rd generation 12.9 units are going for under $400 on eBay now. iPads can last much longer than 5 years but this one has traveled a lot.
Same problem here with my iPad Pro 11” 2018 Line skipping in some area. However my problem goes away when I leave the pencil not charging for about 30 minutes. And of course the problem comes back right away after putting the pencil charging on the side of my iPad.
I have the same problem, except mine is horizontal. Occurred after an ipad os update about a year ago. Don’t remember which version. As with you, finger drawing works fine.

On two occasions since posting this video I’ve seen the issue disappear - briefly. Usually after picking up the iPad after not using it for a while, but returning shortly after I start doing lots of drafting work where it’s the greatest annoyance.Shapr3D requires the pencil.
That exactly is going on with my ipad too.. even when i change the tip of my apple pencil, it still does the same thing
How can I fix this
I also having the same problem

After my second USB C port repair at a 3rd party shop, it worked better, but not as new. However the shop didn’t re-adhere the screen completely. So I took it back and they reattached the screen. Now the pencil works, but the FaceID doesn’t. Spending more on repairs didn’t pencil out. I have replaced the iPad with a new one.
I have this problem but i restart and it was fixed
exactly the same problem on my iPad Pro 12.9 m1 🤔
