Not his fault, blame apple. He's only doing what he can with the products they're putting out. Nothing really innovative/exciting that pops right at you at this point. I at least expect more at this point.

Apple already has good battery life, and a fairly optimized operating system, now they really need to focus on a better Siri and better AI features which can intern make functional features even better and more effortless.

You could always just get a new battery installed. If I remember correctly it’s sub $100 to have apple do it. Quite a bit cheaper than getting a phone upgrade

Finally decided to purchase my first iphone, (iphone 15 plus) but got to know it doesn't provide the split screen function and clipboard) I mean why?! There is no period in the keyboard in the front. I mean seriously?! I do a lot of typing work on my phone. Now I can't decide whether I should go with Samsung S24 Ultra or wait for iPhone 16 plus with iOS 18 update. I love the customisation function and I really want it, but I always wanted to buy an Iphone for so many years but it lacks in functionality. On the other hand, I can't trust androids that they will perform same over the years after updates. I can't think frequently changing my phone after 2/3 years. And earlier with Samsung phones I faced the "storage full" issue without containing much items. Never faced this issue with other androids. I am so confused right now.

No should come to iPhones with neural engines... so maybe iPhone Xs and above or most likely from iPhone 12

First of all, I hope that Siri will be significantly improved. If we also get the other exciting features that you are speculating about, it will be nice. I'm actually much more excited about this than I am about a new iPhone in the fall. For several years, the iPhone has been so good that it has not been tempting to buy a new one.

Why two watches?

Just because Siri is using Gemini, won’t necessarily mean it’ll only be as good as Gemini. Apple could be fine-tuning Gemini for their own ecosystem which would make it work better in their own implementation.

It’s part and parcel. They will outsource service infrastructure to another company for a few years while they develop their own in-house solution, then we will see a conversation.

Great content mate. Still don’t understand what’s all about. I swap from Android and I regret my decision. It’s easy to predict what’s this update will give us. Apple knows better what you want or need. They give something what is already available in Android and they will call it new invention. Like with widgets which are useless. Or maybe they will let us to move icons where we want and they will stay there. That will be great achievement:)

On-device AI is gonna be a game changer, especially if its free and comes with the phone, instead of subscription based like Samsung or always online like Google.

If you care about AI on the phone (for privacy), the main question you need to ask is how much RAM does the phone have? 8GB is the bare minimum to run the most basic Google Nano AI model. The more advanced Nano AI model requires at least 12GB. If the new iPhones will have only 8GB of RAM, they will be able to run the most basic AI model from Google only (on device).

It doesn't make sense, if you do any AI benchmark on the phones, even a 3-4 years old iPhone capable to that what Android flagships can do now, and they are doubling or even tripling the AI performance of the current Androids with their current model which is still the S23 competitor, since if Samsung still has his balls and the S24U still called to Note 24 and release with the iPhone 16, it way harder to fool the users to only compare it with the already one year old iPhone 15..) And those AI benchmarks basically show you how fast they can habdle the on device AI functions. (The only problem what i can think it's a different standalonr storage for AI, like those AI models can be over 1GB in size, so they don't want to chop that from your basic storage, since a few of then like Apple own AI model and Google Gemini model etc together can eat a tons of space)

Only if you watched the iPhone 16 leaks that Daniel did. If this is what Apple will do it is completely stupid and I agree with you, there will be a lot of complaints. But I think maybe Apple may bring it to the iPhone XS and onwards. And also why does Apple have to team up with other brand they have the team and they can hire more workers. This doesn’t make sense if they want to be on the top of the market they could hire ex workers from those companies or send invitations to uni students studying computer science in the artificial intelligence area, which would be a better idea as then they’ll have something that no one will have. But if this doesn’t happen then maybe Apple came with the idea to late like a couple of months ago like in January then it’ll make sense for them to parter up with other industries in the artificial computing industry.

iOS needs a face lift, period.

“Leaving Siri permanently behind.” This simply isn’t true. The use of other generative AI models (Gemini and ChatGPT) are simply that. They are foundations which to built upon. I doubt Apple would take something OOTB and not put their own layer(s) on top of it. (eg. the use of Google search in mobile Safari). Just the text-to-speech synthesis alone, Apple is already doing a better job than Google is currently. (I say this as a Computational Linguist with a concentration of STT/TTS synthesis and Phonetics.)

Siri is absolutely dog 💩. Half the time you ask her a question she don’t know the answer to it. Even using the microphone on the keyboard for speech dictation 90% of the of the time gets what you’re saying wrong. Google has been superior in those two categories for a long time now and I’m a iPhone user. If you use the microphone on the keyboard to text something you better make sure you proofread it. 😂

I would like to be able to change Siri name to mane of my choosing. If it is my AI assistant I would prefer to name it as I like :)
