    It would be nice if lockdown mode disabled profiles. If something malicious is going on in the iPhone it is most likely going to install a profile.

    Don’t quote me on this…but I thought it does disable profiles (or at least new ones?).

    @@AllThingsSecured Yes it already does block new profiles from installing but old ones you had before u turned on lockdown mode will still be there.

    Thanks for making this video. I have seen everyone talk about iOS17 but none of them have talked about the security and privacy of it. Do you think it’s necessary for regular people to use lockdown mode? Does having it enabled disable certain things from being able to use on a day to day basis?

  • @AllThingsSecured

    @AllThingsSecured

    Great question. No, I don't think *everybody* needs to use it, but as I said in the video, I didn't notice too much difference when I had it on. There were a few small differences, but nothing crazy. If you're the kind of person who likes an extra bolt on your door or an extra layer of security, it's not a bad setting to turn on. It's not absolutely necessary, though.

    @@AllThingsSecured okay thank you! I will think about it. I do like the extra security it provides but maybe not necessary when I am at home. Perhaps it’s a good idea when I am out and about though.

    Wait i have had silence unknown callers for a while and im still on IOS 16.6 did you not have that till now Josh or was that just something you didn’t know you had because I have my silence unknown callers on all the time only my contacts can call me i don’t have the ability to see what’s being said as the person is talking but other than that it’s interesting how your just getting it I guess every phone is different

    I apparently wasn't aware of the silence unknown callers feature before, so I think what makes this different is the integration with Live Voicemail so you can still watch and see if it's somebody you need to chat with.

    The obvious question about your device being the passkey is - if you can log in to your email simply because you're doing it on your device, what's to stop someone else logging into your email without your password simply because they have your device?

  • @AllThingsSecured

    First of all, we're not talking email. We're talking about your Apple account. Second, it's not just having the device. It's having the device AND completing biometric verification.
