    Richard, New subscriber because you have a great channel! I can't agree more about IOR's I bought the 1.5 ×8 mill mill illuminated circle dot for my Daniels Defense Mk12. Outstanding scope! Lightning fast on close quarters, day or night, and one shot hits at 850yds. Incredible!

    Excellent review Richard, I have just acquired a 4-14x50 illuminated reticule IOR and I'm looking forward to zeroing it in with my home loads. Rifle is a Tikka T3 lite with GRS stock. I can't find any instructions online but your review has been very useful. Thanks. Best regards. Garry

    Superb review Richard, I went straight out and bought one. And I love it. I had a great day at Orion a couple of weeks ago, it performed flawlessly out to 1200 then the fog came in. I just need another one now. Regards Darcy 👍🏼

    Can I ask Richard how you would compare this IOR 6-24x50 with the same spec Sightron S3 or the S3 8-32 model? Im particularly interested in sharpness and low light performance.

    +Alan Maughan Well Alan, the IR-equipped S3 is only a little less money than the IOR. The S3s are not humbled by anything when it comes to sharpness. Jap glass is famous for flat, edge to edge sharpness and the S3 punches above its weight here. What the IOR 6-24 offers is: even better turrets, zero stop, wider, classier Euro glass. At dusk it is a finer scope than the S3, although the S3 is no slouch by any means. Sharpness in the new model 6-24s is just as good as the excellent S3. I think the non IR S3 is a killer bargain but the more expensive IR one is certainly bettered by this IOR at this current bargain price, though, providing weight is not a factor - the S3 is much lighter.

    +Brad Kate I like that ret very much. What you deem to be too busy is entirely personal. There's nothing I can say to change that. If you go for a duplex or 4a then you're SOL for calling corrections, hold offs etc. You just have to make the call and see

    FGYT Shooting Right up there with the best. Everyone's eyes are slightly different but it has to be on the shortlist for last light work.

    sounds good looking for a stalking scope that will live with a bit of range work and generally i like higher mag etc 6 seems low enough for stalking and 24 high enough for 6-700m range work. the ZD was at the top from your last vid and looking at one but this seem as suitable and cheaper (well mounts add a bit more than 30mm ones would) ... So any more to test in the next couple months ;)

    How and why does the zoom go from MRAD to MOA?

  • @RichardUttingSharpshootingUK

    @RichardUttingSharpshootingUK

    It's about the reticle hashes being true at certain magnifications. On an FFP scope they are correct at all mags. On this particular SFP scope, they are 1moa at 26x and half mil at 14

    +Brad Kate Simply decide between first and second focal plane and you're there. I'm inclined toward FFP these days, so easy to call accurate corrections and the FFP IOR ret is very well thought out.
