IOR Lutaz 3-25x50 scope. This or the Recon and why?

SharpshootingUK look at the new slimmed-down IOR, the 3-25x50 on a 35mm tube. How does it compare to the 40mm versions and the rest of the best?

@Richard Utting This is more useful than you'd think. These kinds of reviews are extremely difficult to come across, especially your side by side comparison videos. I love it and I've been on a viewing binge lately.

I owned both still own LUTAZ the glass on it is amazing the secondary zero and zero stop option plus smaller and lighter it’s absolute winner! Plus nice reticle!( only complaint is scope finish) also very forgiving on full power easy to get behind it. I believe it’s in the same league as S&B the TT and zp5 tac

Loud is normally good..But to shoot a deer thats close enough to hear the noise of loud clicks..its a negative. Whats you opinion on the Valdada TEXAS Raider ? Thanks for turning me on to the High End Scopes..You give the best Reviews !!!

Hi Richard brilliant Channel awesome reviews. I am looking at this scope for air rifle use. It looks like you would say the recon would be a better buy than this Lutaz? I like the delta optical 3-24x56 but the reticle is so fine I really can't pick it against anything other than a white backdrop which is very sad. So instead I'm going to go for an iOr. I can get a lutaz now from opticswarehouse or looks like I have to wait if I want a recon. The price is only 100 more for lutaz would you go for this or wait? Many thanks

Hey Richard! Sorry to post in an older video, but I would like to ask you your opinion on the Crusader nowadays? I am going to buy myself a new optic for the 2019 season. And I have looked at multiple reviews on KZread of the IOR Crusader 5.8-40x56 and it looks to be truly top tier for long range application! Thanks Freddy

I noticed with this scope some extreme purple fringing or chromatic aberration around darker objects that were contrasting against a bright background. Was this fault present in this scope? Other IOR's e.g. The 4-28 recon were perfect though.

Yep that's something i'm working on. My IORs have all been faultless and look how well the Recon did in the PRB test but yes i'd like to be able to run every review sample through the optical tracking chart in future

Richard, I'm very interested in the IOR 9-36x44 spyder. I'm just not a fan of the new reticle with all the windage lines. Will they make it with the regular MP8? Can you get one and do a review.

Great videos Richard. Do you use alignment and lapping bars with compound when setting a scope on your rifles? What is your process?

No I use top quality mounts and rails - no lapping needed IMO I line the bubble up with the ret vertical on a hanging plumb line.

Hi, I recently have bought this items. After read your review I fall in doubts. Because you convinced me the RECON is better. I tested today the 3-25 and its quite good at all ranges, nitide border to border at 3X to 25X. It s very good in terms of quality optic. But I feel it s no enaugh bright at dusk light. I mount it on a AR10 , I need a hight advanced mounts and rings are only available on a 35mm . This is the point. Is Lutath the same model than TX RAIDER??? Is Lutath so good as V8? Do I undertood well? Which QO do you prefer LUTATH vs khales 525 and Minox zp5?

  • @RichardUttingSharpshootingUK

    @RichardUttingSharpshootingUK

Yeah the recon is better. AT dusk the Minox is well regarded too. Look at the Recon G2 as well. There are plenty of 40mm mount options - look harder my friend

@@RichardUttingSharpshootingUK I would buy Minox zp5 5-25. I did TX raide 3-25. It s Good enaugh. But is better choise a Minox in resell value and it s a top German riflescope.

Hi Richard what happened to MOA I use .308 cal to .375 cal was trying to get IOR Recon in 4-28X50 really wanted X56, as I hunt dawn and dusk Med to Long Range on deer so low light and want to see what's in under the trees and bushes. Q-? where to buy I have been looking at used scopes as I like simple less fuss which brings me to the 6-24 X56 but the Recon tick's all the box's. Prior I have Ziess love them I was first brought to IOR attention via Rex and yourself.

I'm not sure given your location mate...I think i heard IORs are difficult to find in OZ. Certainly the x50 on the recon is not a problem, trust me. But you're right that the x56 of the Crusader is a shade better at high mag. MOA seems to be dying a death but TBH mil takes about 4seconds to get used to mate so don't be shy

Hi the latest batch of recons just in at optic warehouse have the older style turrets as on the 6-24x50. Great price with tier one mounts inc. There's only one ret available at the moment. It comes in a substantial package, swiftly intercepted by the wife.

So basically the Lutaz is AWESOME!! But, the RECON is MORE AWESOME?😆 40MM is 40MM 40MM with the same glass is going to be BETTER than a 35MM If you have never looked through a 40MM tube.... Than you wont believe anything is better than a 35MM.... 35MM is still AMAZING 40MM is just a little MORE AMAZING.
