I encourage anyone thinking about getting one of these to look up electrolysis for rust removal first. Because that is exactly what this device is. It's two pieces of metal, one connected to the positive, the other connected to the negative. When turned on in an electrolyte bath, ions are exchanged between the metals. The anode side begins to attract corrosion, causing that rusty colored water. The bubbles you see on the positive side is Oxygen gas and the Hydrogen gas forms at the negative. In a rust removal set up, you'd put your rusty part on the negative side and a sacrificial piece of steel on the positive side. There are so many things that can go wrong here, too. For example, if the anode is made of stainless steel, you are also creating hexavalent chromium which causes cancer. It's the stuff from that Erin Brockovich movie that the town's drinking water was contaminated with.

@@mattjones6323 I'm curious how you know it "sucked all the meds out." Were samples of the water sent to a lab to be tested and high levels of parkinsons medication were detected? You're giving anecdotal evidence of either the placebo effect, or you are mistaking correlation for causation. There's a simple, scientific way to test this. Take three samples of the electrolyte water. One that never touched the device (your control) one where the device ran alone, and one where you ran the device with your feet in it. Have the samples tested in a lab and see how much toxins and medications from your body ended up in the sample. The only benefit you are getting from these things comes from the electrolyte. A lot of them use Epsom Salt and there's plenty of evidence of the health benefits of that. You can save the money for this scam product and just soak your feet in a regular ole warm water epsom salt bath.

The anode (positive) corrodes by attracting chloride ions. This locally dissolves the alloy, making assorted chlorides of iron, chromium and nickel (the majority parts of traditional stainless steel). At the cathode, sodium ions are attracted, forming, well, not sodium metal because that takes 2.7V or so and water will only ever handle 1.2V, so it reacts instantly with water, producing hydrogen gas and hydroxide ions. When the local environments mingle, hydroxide combines with the metal ions, precipitating very insoluble hydroxides. These have a very small particle size (not quite colloidal), and range in color from gray (iron (I1) hydroxide) to green (chromium (IlI) and nickel (I)).

The electric charge results in a color depending on what the ions come into contact with. There are chemicals in the water itself because tap water has chemicals. When you add your feet you get different colors than you would with water alone. The water itself may get darker or turn a different color altogether, and with feet in there small particles of other colors appear. All of these different colors correspond to different parts of the body and what the body is eliminating. So that's why and how it works!

It's nothing but an electrolysis bath. We use the same technology to remove rust from parts. Simple science of exchanging ions between two metals in an electrolyte bath. The positive side attracts corrosion, causing the water to change colors. If you used epsom salt in the water then any health benefit you are getting comes from that. There is zero benefit from the rusty water. If the positive charged metal inside that device is stainless steel, well then you are actually introducing toxins to your body rather than removing them. SS on the anode (positive side) creates a byproduct known as Hexavalent Chromium. Remember the movie Erin Brockovich? That's the chemical in that town's drinking water that gave everyone cancer. It's bad, bad stuff.

This thing is like so amazing. I actually forgot to put my feet in the Chinese made plastic tub and the detox crap from my body magically transferred from my body to the tub through the air. I did not even need to clean the detox crud off of my feet afterwards as their was none, like totally amazing. In fact I was able to repeat the process from over ten feet away. Afterwards I felt like my body was old and highly toxic which it is. I highly recommend this product to all idiots that like to freely hand over their not so hard earned money to the Snake Oil salesman of the world. On a scale of 1-5 stars I give it a ZERO. It's the ionic response to chemicals in tap water. The electric charge that the machine gives off causes circulation in your body, and the electrical charge draws out impurities. THere's impurities in your tap water as well. When feet are added the water often changes color to some degree, but it's the different colored particles that show-up in the water when feet are added that is the difference between feet and no feet. The color of the particle indicates what is being eliminated from the body. I recently had a situation where for a few sessions a lot of mold particles were showing up in my ionic footbath. Soon after I found that there was mold in my air conditioner and it had been the reason that I was bloated and feeling ill.

I tried buying one to have at home after doing a lot of research and I was not comfortable with how the machine operated - I actually had a clump of hair fall out and I could feel the electric charge because it required wearing a device on my finger while the foot bath was running. The health spa uses very expensive professional grade machines.
