It is said that Mozart wrote for silly rich people, and Khachaturian wrote for the Gods. Berliner Philharmonic at Waldbühne in 2010, I believe? This pacing is the most reserved and patient I have ever heard, and it's glorious.

Every time l hear Khachaturian l remember my father.he used to play violin.we were 5 sisters on piano playing.l love to play.l still play at the church music is the best in life.and this peace that are pl aying making me sad it's a beautiful piece of Khachaturian.. the funny thing was our teacher's family name was Khachaturian.long time ago.. beautiful music.

Armenian... a citizen of the CCCP. Whatever your opinions this is a wonderful piece of music. Music of the Gods indeed! I used to watch a drama series in the 1970s called The Onedin Line and this piece of music was the opening theme tune. It was when Britain could make good quality dramas for television. You can probably still see it on KZread somewhere... Happy memories...
