InWin D-Frame mini PC Case Review | Truly Unique!

Ғылым және технология

InWin's reputation for quality has only risen within the ranks in the last 2 years. It's great to see a company take a drastic shift in production levels to stand out within the competition. The D-Frame mini is an aluminum cage masterpiece that deserves some macro attention from our lens. Enjoy the review!

    Idea: Remove the drive tray thingies completely. Add brackets/mounting apparatus to the bottom, and a few SSD mounts at the back. Use all the saved space to make ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards compatible.

    Definitely more usable then their last couple cases. Honestly if it wasn't for the price it'd be pretty smexy choice. I get why it's 350 though so I won't complain too much. It looks like a small power generator ;p More at home on a construction site then a computer desk.

    Great case. I would have installed a 240mm AIO in the system if I were building it but thats just me. The only draw back i see with the case is its price point. I would have liked to see a price in the $200 range. I know coming from inwin, the case is bound to be expensive but the 901 is cheaper then this and I feel like their price points should be closer together.

    This case is just so incredibly niche. I'd rather go for something like the Enthoo Evolv if I'm looking for an all-aluminum case with functionality. I agree that this case would make an interesting showcase piece for conventions and whatnot, but I do have to wonder if it wouldn't be better to go for a custom/modded case at this pricepoint.

    I feel like the PSU mounting should be in that huge empty space where the fan bracket would be, and the fan bracket should be under the GPU, you know where you can actually help cool components.

  • @GDylan7
    @GDylan79 жыл бұрын

    This would be awesome, but it seems there is so much wasted space, that it seems that you could move the hard drive bays to the bottom, move the bottom fan mount to the front and you could squeeze a matx board in it, with maybe minor changes.

    mario zavaleta It is not about functionallity.. In Win is starting to build more elegant cases that often put design above functionallity, like the 901,904, S-Frame, H-Frame etc. For someone who want to show of their watercooling at a LAN where the functionallity does not matter it is perfect! You pay for the perfection in build quality and elegant design, when to think about it is just like apple.. :P

    I can imagine it would be helpful for developers maybe? If you need to test a game/software on 20 graphics cards this might make it easier. but not really sure if it'd be much easier than just taking all of the sides off of something like the thermaltake core v21 and using that.

    I think this is going to be shown off at plenty of booths at computer events, but I don't see many people wanting to spend $350 on a case that won't want either additional mounting options or a smaller form factor. Neither the less, I always like seeing innovation in the computer market, and if this sort of tubular frame design somehow does manage to capture peoples imagination we will certainly see options coming to the market with better features or a lower price.

    It's really interesting, but for the price... you could just get so much more. Sure, 'better' cases for less might not have the build quality or compact size or that open look with large tempered glass panels, all of which you might want for a build, but still... Seems like an expensive case for a very specific target.

    Honestly, it really should have supported Micro ATX, since how many ITX motherboards have more than 2 fan connectors? 2's pretty much the ITX standard. $350 with no rubber grommets and no rubber for hard drives? Maybe later. Only one place for only a 240mm radiator? Absolutely disgusting. The SSD's/HDD's should have been mounted at the bottom with at least a 360mm and 280mm radiator mount at the front.
