Old video, but it told me that the i9 I'm looking at second hand is probably good. People like this who pretend AMD has made decent things since about amd64 are a ringing endorsement for Intel for me. T-bird was good, barton was OK, some of the Opterons were sorta doable, I still have an Fx-62 somewhere that I never bothered to build into a full PC instead opting to mod a Xeon for Core2Quad. Bought Fx9590, tested it, ditched it and went for i7 - since then I gave up on AMD, buying their shit hoping it wasn't just hype to test and flip again when it was found to be just hype got too expensive. Just the other day I looked at threadripper for a moment, slapped myself and will go for i9 instead, don't have the cash to piss it away on testing AMD again just to find the same thing again. I really wanted it to be as good at least, just never found it to be. Athlon XP 2400+ was a good AMD chip, everything since then hasn't stood up compared to intel for me. Still doesn't look like it would, the verbiage is too weasely.

8:40 in the custom keyboard community there are 300 dollar keycap sets which also quickly develop shine from use. Can you name a single laptop that has a backlit keyboard which somehow avoids this issue? I don't see why it's unacceptable on mac when they use industry standard materials / process for the keycaps. (It's clear ABS with black paint on it, like every other laptop keyboard today)

This wasn't short but packed with non-obvious content so, thank you. I need to get a new headset and I'm down the rabbit hole. One thing I want to add is how dumb it seems to me there isn't pause/play/next/prev buttons, even at least a multifunction one. I don't think it is so weird of me to use my headset for wirelessly listening to music/podcasts.

I stepped up from a 3400G to a 8700G know more Vega graphics RDNA 3 instead.I skipped over the 5600G and 5700G,this should be a good rebuild still 65 watts can run 24/7 with out running up the electric bill any more and still get better graphics.

I bought the G14 2024 model instead because I found the G16 screen to be too wobbly and the battery life wasn't as good I am guessing because of the Intel CPU they opted for.

Managed to snag a i9 12900 complete NUC second hand with 16gb ram, 1tb m.2 and 3060ti. I am never going back to full form factor ever again. I love that it's small, not in the way and that it looks like a normal device. Sure, it reaches about 80c in temps on gaming, but I'm more than fine with that when you take into account the cooling system. Edit: Nuc 12 that is, not 11 as the video here. And not second hand as in used for months, or years. My unit was activated just 2 weeks before I bought it and it looks brand new. And it came with Windows 11 pro. A steal.

And then you notice you can get from Arctic all the fans you need for a chassis for less than two Be Quiet fans and the performance difference is just 1-2°, if any.

Although i get the appeal of AIO's, you simply can not fault the simplicity of air cooling which can achieve most of the performance as well. for that simple reason i stick to air cooling, especially as your pc will effectively be bricked when it doesn't have cooling.

Just upgraded from EK Vardar 140mm too p14 max on all 12 of my case fans. Im extremely happy thus far. Noise is about the same even with 30% more fan speed. And its lowered my water temp by 6-7 degrees. Gaming with an overclocked 7900xtx with 28* water. Yes please.

Can’t wait for Microsoft and Qualcomms deal to end this year. Microsoft needs to put more focus on Windows arm when other players enter the market.
