Oh boy, the amount of dread I felt this episode with Anissa was insane. And according to what everyone is saying…ha-ha, I ain’t ready for this. Also, I freaking loved the animation joke. 😂That was great

Im so happy donald is getting so much character development! Hes one of my favorite characters now. I think his whole experience this episode will convince him to keep his memories.

This was one of the best episodes in the series it was so intense the next episode going to be wild cant wait hope the finale is longer than a hour.

Pretty sure the “glamour shot” of mark in the comic con scene is meant to look like Cory walker’s art style, who did the art for some invincible issues and has a noticeably different style than Ryan ottley

Maybe I'm weak but while I felt how EVERYONE did with Mark and Amber, I really did cry a bit during the date, Anisa's arrival and the full realization this isn't gonna work. I think they did a good job of that young love feeling of stretching what, to everyone else, clearly isn't working until you both don't want to but you have to. It's the worst breakup when neither want to breakup 💔

Is there a reason why the viltrumites havent attacked yet? Anissa could take out probably all of the guardians.

THey dont exactly know what earth has. plus they are actually spread really thin. the universe thinks of them as this unstoppable force but there is like 50 of them left. hence why they are looking for a place to repopulate.

I like that when Mark meets the Robert Kirkman stand-in, that this is a tweak/referential moment from the comics, that discussed the issues with illustrating and producing issues of comics but in that instance, he also included using the same frame multiple times to fill pages, and Mark calls them out for being lazy. pretty much here, but updated for the medium of animation. I didn’t know they would do this, but it works.

The meta joke with the animation taking time made me laugh a lot. It was a really nice good joke.

Love your analysis! Really great insights, but I think y'all misinterpreted the line where Donald says "Do it." I'm pretty sure he was asking to have his memory erased again, and that's why the call was so timely. He was about give up that trauma because he didn't want to be slowed down to save lives. It wasn't until he talked to Rick that he realized that this trauma that he's been erasing has utility to help him save lives another way by empathizing with people going through their own trauma. And it represents things he can heal and learn from. Let me know if you think I'm off on this one. Great job!

It’s only after talking with Rick and helping him to come to terms with what happened to him that he decides to keep his memories.

Who would have thought I would love Donald as much as I do? Back in season 1 before he died, his first priority for always saving life, even the footage of him dying over and over again is him saving people or trying to.

Not sure if anyone noticed but once Rex defeated the octoboss he ran out of those batons he uses but when he was have a conversation with mark after he mentioned about his teeth growing back there was a shot where he still had the batons but then in another shot the batons weren’t there anymore and as I mentioned before he ran out of them.
