Jazakallahu khayr Sheikh! I am currently 27 years old and had depression and was suicidal for almost 10 years. I have very loving and amazing parents and that has helped quite a lot. The strongest reason though why I am still alive is the fear of Allah and the fear of the punishment of the grave. Especially the fact, that the one who kills himself, will keep on doing the act that he commited suicide with untill the day of judgement was enough to deter me from acting foolishly. Jazakallahu khayr once again Sheikh, I admire your work a lot. Greetings from Germany, I am looking forward to meet you one day InshaAllah :)

I make my mother listen to the Namaj of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi my mother Cried asking me Which Country is this my mother don't know anything about the khutbah . she is illiterate I said : this is from America she said : oh Allah ! You are great from where to where you have placed Islam although we meight never get chance to meet one another but your religion is spread throughout the world how beautiful is it . We still are ignorant about each other. Some Sunni Sheikh try not to tell about Fatimids Khilaphat and whenever they say they say , negative because that Khilaphat was of direct descendant of our beloved Prophet(PBUH) who founded the city of Cairo and Al Azhar University and Mosque. Did you know our Umaah was made to curse Imam Ali for 60+ years by Umayad Sunni dynasty ?

Did you know that Sunni scholar Juwayni help Mongol set fire to the library of Batiniya who practice d mystical Islam ? Did you know Imam Ali was cursed in Sunni Mosques in Sham for over 60 years ?

MashaAllah he has a great way of saying everything 👏

But since then, this ummah could not recover fully. Libraries in Baghdad were destroyed completely.

No one likes to take his or her own life.! The best and only thing that one can do is just to listen to the person with empathy! Showing empathy and at that very moment being non-judgmental is the key to save that person! We also need to ask ourselves the question: will advising the person help or not? A suicidal person don't need advice at that moment! He or she needs to clear out his mind by putting an order in his thoughts which are blurred by mist...

Love this video! I learn so much listening to the sheikh. I wish the closed captioning was accurate as not all the words are being shown correctly. For example, the sheikh uses the word profundity, but the cc shows this word as profanity, which is a whole different meaning. Hope this gets fixed.

Thank you Sheihh Yasir Qadhi for such a powerful talk. Islam preaches Unity, even the particulars of Salat are the same, wehreever we are we turn towards Kaab to pray, yet there is so much disunnity among us. Sheik, I read that when our Ummag was being destroyed by the mongls, the Arab abd persian traders continued to tarde and with their good behaviour and Islamic etiquette there was reversion and ultimately the light reach Berkei Khan which was the beginning of new times for us. We should be united and not give up hope, we will rise again In shaa Allah.

Regarding second part: Sheikh, all advice for the parents, any advice for the youth too? 18 year old is an adult too. May be the part we are missing in our approach addressing this issue is to provide advice to the youth too on how to stay away from suicide and how to process their negative thoughts. Please don't put all of the burden on parents, they are just half of the solution (and a miserable victims after the event). We need to address our youth.

Subhanallah how deviation from Islam by the Khalifa created a ghengis khan and how the conversion of ghenghis khan’s grandson to Islam stopped the Mongols and their unstoppable barbarism. Adhering to Islam is the best path and the solution to all our problems. Wish the rulers of the Islamic countries especially Pakistan would be pay heed and be Allah fearing.
