Interesting video - don’t want this to come across the wrong way, but from someone who has struggled with eating disorders since childhood I just wanted to mention that one of my disordered habits was to always leave something on my plate. For some reason it made me feel better and less guilty if I left even a small portion on my plate - I was scared to finish everything. Eating disorders can be so darn sneaky. Just thought I’d mention it incase your disorder is influencing your food decisions. As you know if you start to under-eat or restrict at all, that’s when the binges come... Best of luck on your intuitive eating journey.

I was always made to Finish everything on my plate as a kid, and by all adults really, as to not "waste any food". I grew up always feeling like I had to finish it all, and would try so hard no matter how full I was (I now have Binge Eating Disorder). As I moved out on my own, I'd always leave one bite, but it wasn't because I was scared to finish it, it was because I was already 7 bites PAST full, and I physically couldn't do one more bite. But I should have really stopped 7 bites ago. I find that Victoria leaves anywhere from 1 bite, up to almost half her meal if she doesn't feel it's serving her which seems more intuitive than only leave one because you're terrified to finish it.

@@syleenadawn2038 I realise we are all at different stages of our eating disorder/recovery and thus we are all battling with different behaviours, fears and challenges. Only we know where we are ‘at’ in our journeys and because of that it means often we have to be blatantly honest with ourselves in order to move forward. I suppose seeing as ‘not wanting to finish everything on my plate’ was very much eating disorder driven for myself and many others I met in treatment I just thought that it was worth putting out there. Often eating disorders are so sneaky that they subtly keep changing rules and behaviours in a bid to try and stay in our lives. I’m well aware this may not have applied to Victoria or many others, but thought it was worth a mention incase. 😊 Thanks for sharing your own experiences. It’s interesting to hear different insights in the topic.

YES!!! I would love an intuitive eating journey! I am currently recovering from disordered eating and I am trying to get my period back. When I was first introduced to intuitive eating, I would get super confused why someone like you or Brittani Lancaster would want to eat way less than me and it was discouraging. I have now learned that because I don't have my period and I am not at my set point, my body NEEDS the extra calories. For me, learning that was so helpful! :)

These videos have been helping me so much. I have considered myself recovered from an ED for a very long time now. But after seeing your videos, it made me think of ways I’m still not kind to myself sometimes. And ways that I’m still influenced by those old negative voices in my head. I recently gained a few pounds and my go to reaction was to start restricting. But since watching your intuitive eating series, I’m now trying to be more mindful without going to extremes. And I don’t feel the amount of fear and anxiety I would feel right now after having gained vs. Not maintained or lost weight. Also, The dynamic you have with Max is so adorable!! You guys have the best banter.

Since I started to watch your videos I learned about intuitive eating existence, and got to learn more about it. I improved my relationship with food and I started to not only lose weight, but loving myself and my body more, I finalle stopped giving food so much control, cause I was aware that I gave food to much power over me but I didn't know how to stop it, I felt trapped, and every other channel, trainer, even nutritionist, talked about will power, counting calories, restricting and getting used to, but I coudn't commit and felt like I was never going to be healthy, but now my house can be full of food and I won't eat everything in a frenesi, and I'm so happy and accomplished! You opened my eyes and I'm really really thankfull, this is a real healthy and sustainable change in my life.

Part of my disordered eating came from my parents telling me to clean the entire plate because I'd often leave like 2-3 bites left (even if I was full) so I feel guilty and usually eat past satiety. So I'm just really glad you showed that part about the toast. And I'm super excited to start my intuitive eating journey.

Seeing you be so clear headed and compassionate talking about food is such a new concept for me? 'Cause like. I've never necessarily experienced an eating disorder I don't think, but like in the same way that not everyone has broken a limb or needed stitches, but you can still get other bad injuries that need attention. So just... it's just the way you talk about it, I think, that makes me go 'Oh... Oh wow... I wanna be able to eat like that.' My relationship with food is definitely complicated by both the fact that I live with a really big family and the fact that I have ADHD. Regardless of if I'm hungry or not, my low impulse control and executive dysfunction issues make food and eating much... stickier? More treacherous-feeling? It complicates things much more than if the ADHD wasn't a factor, I think. And when it comes to having so many other people in the house, a lot of the time I feel like I don't have a right to food unless I know someone else is eating as well?? This is a bit much for a KZread comment, but I just wanted you to know this video is helping me, and you make me smile, Victoria. (Also shoutout from us Haikyuu Homies, I'm so glad I found you and started watching all your stuff thru that)

Just one of your Haikyuu homies here. ☺️ I just wanted to say that I really love health and wellness content as well. I’m currently on a journey to lose fat and gain muscle. I used to struggle with binge eating as well. So anyways, I love that your content is relatable and that you and your team put so much effort into your videos. The quality just shows. So, thank you. 💛

When she talks about her new fridge and how it isn’t stocked by a mother anymore hit me😂 I felt that because I can’t just stare emptily in the fridge hoping food will magically appear lol

LOL I love that you left that small bite for him - For real tho I can never just leave food on the plate even if I’m very full and I feel like I’ve definitely restricted myself when it comes to snacks but also sometimes just eat a lottttt of snacks.
