Her breakfast was quite on the lighter side and her lunch was literally a broth based soup. Even with her snacks it’s actually quite less food considering she’s a full time ballerina that’s already a lot of physical activity. Only her dinner was something close to a meal. Whatever works for her but please don’t think you are lazy or wrong if this doesn’t seem like enough food for you because it isn’t.

She's not right about everything she touches on. A granola bar, especially if it has nuts in it, is a more balanced snack, with some fiber and some protein, than a banana, which is mostly carbs. Microwaves are perfectly safe and don't "suck" the nutrients out of the food, or alter the molecular structure, etc.

Yeah idk, she's obviously a skilled dancer and is probably a very nice person, but this video of her acting hyper was pretty annoying. Less than halfway through and I'm over it. Not to mention the totally unrealistically low calories she supposedly eats in a day. But who's going to openly admit that they scarf down loads of food? Especially in a field where the women are supposed to be dainty and delicate.

Am I the only one who feels she does not eat that much food? With 7 hours of ballet a day I would genuinely have thought she would have had more food. For example she had only one piece of bread in the morning to accompany the egg and the avocado. It kind of stresses me out, I eat more than her and by no means am I so active O.o EDIT: Thanks for all the answers! I am not trying to criticize her diet (I really love her and follow her on several media plus I trust she does the rights choices for herself) but rather to understand it as I was genuinely surprised. I pay a lot of attention to my food and eat mostly vegetables, organic, non-processed etc. but still, I do eat more (I am french and its a bit cliché but for ex I eat a LOT more bread) without being particularly active and I am not overweight. Which is why I thought someone as active would need more food (I notably think of Natacha Océane's videos where she seems to eat more carbs and more sweets). Edit 2: ok I saw a dietician review where she confirmed this was not enough at all! I don't blame Scout but Glamour for posting such inconsiderate content and for not taking it down. This video made me feel bad about myself until I got the proper informations.

Dancer here. She’s referring to her muscles, not her physical shape. You could look amazing, but if you haven’t danced as intensely in a while you have to ease your muscles back in otherwise they go into shock and you end up injured. Personal example: last year over lockdown my hip flexors tightened up a little (like it was hardly even noticeable). This resulted in a back injury when I went back to dancing 9am - 7pm as my body tried to compensate but didn’t have the glute activation/strength to support the spine in that way. One tiny change can impact muscles all over the body.

As a Professional dancer myself and fitness instructor, please please please don't mistake this as a 'normal' diet. She is eating way under what a Ballerina should eat for that amount of working out. Even for a normal person who isn't working out 8-9 hours a day. This makes me sad to see the perpetuation of old and antiquated stereotypes of stick-thin dancers who basically have a carb-free diet. Im not attacking her as a person, just sad that this is an acceptable 'example' of what a ballerina eats.

@@tracid830 yes but you don't know the context, does she eat like this everyday? what is her usual metabolism? has she had a yoyo diet or eating disorder in the past? how quickly she has dropped weight , did she gain weight being on quarantine? Questions which quite frankly are none of our business and I am sorry to be even asking them... but just saying that context is important for being such a visible example. Younger dancers are going to look at the very little calories and carbs in particular that she eats during the day as a professional ballerina who trains a full-time schedule and think that is normal and mores, the most of what a ballet dancer should eat.

I agree. If we were to emulate what she ate that day over a period of week it would make us tired and Ill, however I did get the sense that she ate less earlier in the day in order to not feel bloated? She does look healthy so maybe she eats more on her off days to offset the defect

She literally had carbs at every meal. The bread at breakfast, the vegetable soup (especially if she adds a grain like farro as she said, and root vegetables like carrots, parsnips, potatoes) has tons of carbs. Her snacks were carbs. Then all the veggies at dinner. Most of her carbs are fibrous, as opposed to starchy - but they are carbs. Vegetables are carbohydrates.

Sautée any kind of vegetables/legumes you have laying around ( previously washed diced and peeled ) , then keep adding hot water. Once they're cooked, it´s up to you, to drain and ad greens to the stock, or puré everything if you prefer it creamy.
