I got 2 Aldi ones last night, Claire....they were amazing. I got a big beef roasting joint in one bag, that should've been £9.68 on its.own, so I got my money back for that one thing. Then I got 2 packs of diced beef, 3 packs of fish tempura goujons, melt in the middle katsu fish cakes, smoked haddock fillets, chicken in a black bean sauce, mexican style pork loin steaks with a sauce, 2 packs of beef rump steaks with sauces and a pea and ham hock soup. My freezer is brimming, lol 😍😍xx

If the cheese is not quite to your taste I have in the past shedded it up and mix with a good cheddar when making a sauce. I too hate throwing out perfectly good food. 😊

Just watched one of your old videos wherein you were trying to save up some bananas to make banana bread - but toddler. Then you'd bought some chocokate chips and just vaguely mentioned "baking..." in a very airy way. So I thought I'd ask - have you ever tossed a couple handfuls of chocolate chips into your banana bread? If it's one of those things that sounds horribly weird, I promise you, it's worth a try. It's really delicious!

Standard pancakes in the US are more like what the Scotch ones sound like. They're light and fluffy on the inside, they definitely rise up a bit, so they're thicker. That's in general, of course, for the usual buttermilk type people are familiar with. There are regional variations including corn or buckwheat or oats or granolas... there is variation. Mostly, also, they're really big. Plate sized is not unusual. There are also what are often called "silver dollar pancakes," which use the same batter but are much smaller. Frequently kids order those. We have crepes, too, but they often come from entirely separate shops that specialize in them. The US is kind of a pancake playground if you approach it from that direction.

Sour dough bread yum, it so expensive but so good, there are two bakeries local to us hubby went and got a sour dough last weekend about 4.50ish but it was so good as toast, can’t wait to see how you make it if you do been ages since I made bread x

Find yourself a German speaker to translate. Germans love rye breads and those are gluten free. If you like tasteless white marshmallow loaves typically referred to as "bread" you may not like that but if you like bread, Bread, or BREAD check out the German bakers.

Unfortunately rye is not gluten free, which is a shame as I LOVED rye bread. I'm a fan of proper lovely artisanal bread which is why I want to have a crack at my own sourdough (the stuff you can buy in the UK is not great). Rye contains secalin which is a type of gluten protein which isn't suitable for coeliacs :( xx

I never made sourdough. But if you search gluten free sourdough for beginners on youtube tons of videos come up. I know Pro Home Cooks has a sourdough series, but Mike gets into the science and technical stuff about it and it confused me. Good luck.

I generally spend £70 a week for food so depends how long the month of. The animals aren’t included in that and household items aren’t. We tend to have a load of renewable products though. Like I use beesewax cloths instead of cling film, reusable sanitary products and cloth nappies which definitely help xx
