I picked up my first ever 9mm handgun this month. A G45 w/trijicon sights. For 23 years of concealed carry I've AWAYS been a big bore guy, but because of my age (68) today I'm finding it tough to handle them and wanted to be ready for that "step down gun". Damn first week out with it, my shot pattern shrunk in half. Best shooting I've EVER done. Not waiting for 69, gotta get a CCW holster now. Thanks for the video and link.

Great video. For me, Glock 45 gen 5 is the best concealed carry iwb or owb pistol with holster. It fires so great and can take different high capacity mags with compatibility. I love this gun. Very handy and deadly!

The G45 was my first Glock. Now I’ve added a G19 and more recently a G17 MOS but the G45 is still my favorite.

2 years ago I picked up a Gen 5 19, and absolutely loved it. Ran it with trijicon HD XR sights, and the 300U on a trex arms sidecar as my everyday piece. Started wanting an RMR, and because I didn’t want to send the slide of my carry gun off for two months to get an RMR cut my options were kind of limited. Yeah sure I could buy an aftermarket RMR cut slide but my option are kind of limited, and the price of many of the slides is up there. I had almost given up on the matter. That is until I walked into my local gun shop and seen they had a blue label Glock 45 mos in stock and I had to snag it. For only slightly more than many of the RMR cut after market slides I had seen I could buy an entire gun, so I pulled the trigger on the transaction. My original intention was to mount an RMR and then put the 45 mos slide on my 19.5 frame. Then I started realizing just how much more purchase the base of my palm gets on the full size frame of the 45 compared to the 19 frame. My RMR mounted 45 mos slide started spending more and more time on its appropriate frame during my dry fire and I was slowly starting to like it more. I’m able to get a significantly better grip and it feels more ergonomic of a grip angle compared to the 19. Ultimately my 45 mos is going to become my edc piece.

the draw in the beginning was good but im scared even with how quick he was the assailant wouldnt be distracted by a 3x5 pocket purse

I love mine... I carry my 43x with the 15 round shield arms s15 mag on a daily basis but the 45 has the best stock Glock trigger and its my duty/night stand gun and I love it I’ll also carry it when I open carry or during winter when it’s easier to conceal. Love it!

So the 43x is still smaller than the 45?

I’ve been carrying a Glock 43X since they became available in all black. The 43X is one hell of a pistol…I really like mine. A few months back I bought a Talo Exclusive Glock Model 45 with the Ameriglo Ultimate Carry Night Sights (green front sight). This pistol just feels great in my large hands…fits perfectly which makes it easier to shoot well. It feels perfectly balanced and has all the Gen 5 improvements including the best OEM Glock trigger I have felt to date.Glock clearly did something to improve the trigger in the Model 45. For me, this is the perfect pistol. Glock hit a bases-loaded home run with the Model 45.

Love my G45 but the G19 has a special place in my heart...Always will. Nice Vid! Thanks

I carry a Glock 45 every day. However, I still feel like for most people the Glock 19 is a better choice. I am about 6' 2'' 230lbs and carry appendix in a Tier 1 Concealed holster. The reason I chose the 45 over the 19 is my hands fit the 45 like most people's hands fit the 19. For people trying to decide between the two pick the one that fits you best. If your pinky gets pinched on reloads with a 19 then the 45 is probably for you. If not the 19 is easier to conceal and the extra 4 rounds you could carry with a spare mag isn't worth the extra length.

Oh My! I almost bugged out after the initial intro! I picked up a G45 today, can’t wait to run it!

45 is my handsdown EDC without question. Best shooting gun I have put hands on in a long time and for THAT reason I have been willing from day one to deal with and get used to the G17 lower. Once you get used to carrying that size lower....it's a breeze honestly. Won't go to anything else. It's won me over. My last EDC (Sig P365 xl) now sits in my gun safe basically. Front tritium site shouldn't have went out so early!!! I'd prob still be carrying it!!! G45 is it!!!!

I've got a really good feeling about the G45; kind of like your Steph Curry tingling sensation (great line bro!). I spoke with the local gun store and they plan to get a shipment of G45's tomorrow or the next day. And yes, I plan to purchase one, slap some night sights on it and call it good! Whew, I'm so glad I don't wear tight jeans that reeks like yeast LOL. Great stuff!!!!

Have you ever concealed carried a Glock 17 in the appendix position? And if so would you recommend it over the Glock 45?

The part that gets me, is when people put a surefire x300 on their g19 size slide, the light sticks out so far... why not have more barrel length with that empty space. Running a x300 itd make more sense to run a g17 or g34.

Torn between 19 and 45… I have a shadow systems mr920 which is basically a 19 and I conceal carry that everyday no problem. I love the idea of the 45 but get concerned with conceal carry appendix. I’m 5’8 about 170 pounds. You look similar? Do you think I can get away with appendix here?

I have to choose between G45 or G19 gen4, same price. I live in Argentina where theres no concealed carry (its illegal, but better go to jail than be dead) is it that much of an issue the grip-length-conceal-issue of g45? I mean, its slightly bigger than g19, is that much of a deal? I think its easier to draw, and they claim it has more balance, which is good if you must shoot under stress, but I never used a gun myself, and its going to be my first gun, what do you say? I would advise against breaking any laws where you live. That being said as a G45 owner the extra grip length can cause some extra printing (not a huge concern where I live) and a G19 would be considerably more concealable. Love the G45 but the G19 is definitely the better CCW choice.

I noticed in the video at 3:45, 3:55 and 4:00 that when the magazine was emptied, the slide did not stay back and it needed to be pulled back manually. Is that an issue with the Glock 45?

Hey what is that owb holster your running on your range belt

My EDC is the Glock G21. No mistaken here if it’s a 9mm or a .45 yes it’s full size pistol but I can easily conceal & carry with no issues plus I love the 13+1 .45 capacity. Great video & subscribed.

How makes your appendix holster?

I got the 19X - for concealed carry the grip kind of prints but tbh the 19 is not that much smaller.

I’m thinking about swapping out my G48 for the g45. I love the feel of my 48 but it’s very difficult to shoot cause it’s so sleek, but I’m worried that the 45 may be too bulky for edc. Will you do a 48 vs 45 review in the future? There isn’t one on KZread yet

I think you'll find how much of a better shooter the 45 is over the 48. The 48 in my opinion failed by using 43X grip module. Not a failure of a gun exactly but they dropped the ball. Should've made a completely new gun to compensate the 48 slide and barrel. It shoots flatter than 43X but still takes longer to get back on target for follow up shots, sounds crazy right but that's what you get with poor engineering. 19 or 45 are the way to go. I'd still argue if you can get a full purchase on a 19 and run a 17 mag, I'm sure you get the balance and shootability of the 45 and still the ability to conceal whatever anything from a 15 rd mag up. Love to get y'alls feedback.

You have the 48, keep it. Train with but and get proficient with it. If you feel. It’s harder to control due to the sleekness of it, I would recommend getting it stippled so you can really hunker down on it. That’s what I did. Shield arms makes an S15 mag which allows you to hold same amount of rds as g19 and g45. Daddy Grandthumb always says, train train train.

Im an xdm guy, its my edc. But I picked up my buddies g45 and was instantly hooked, and I hate glocks (mostly because of glock owners) Im gonna go puck up the g45 in the next couple weeks.

what holster was that that you showed?

I love my Glock 17 and it is my EDC- however, the glock 45 is attractive because I can put the radian ramjet afterburner and barrel on it and basically have a glock 17 with 40% recoil reduction. Damn, I wish I could go back in time!

Any double stack Glock 9mm will do basically the same thing. It really comes down to personal preference once you recognize that.

I like .45 ACP so the name is a bit unfortunate. That aside I chose it instead of the 19 because the fit was much better. It is a bit taller for sure but still concealable.

His appendix holster is from tier 1 concealed and his battle belt gear is from trex arms. I have all the same gear myself but I got the new axis elite for appendix

I EDC a G19 i have a G45 and a G19x also use to have a 17 but here is the tropics polo shirts and jeans all year round sometimes with a non tucked button shirt i can carry the G45 but not easy if it is not with button shirt sometimes i use the G19 with a glock plus 2 mag extension so the 17 bullet capacity is not that big of a deal also i practice a lot i mean a lot with my G19 because i carry it the most it has no optic sight but the G45 does so comparing the G19x to the G19 i like the longer grip short slide configuration but is not enough to make me steer away from my G19 for edc because here printing is a very serious issue i can become a target so there is no space for errors

I prefer the 19X. I love the color, don’t care about glass optics, don’t care about front serrations, don’t care that it won’t accept gen5 magazines when I have about 100 gen4 and close to 100 gen3 mags. All that said, I just love the 19X over the 45. But, to each his own.

Lol I cary a 19 and I have a 15 in gun mag cady next to my gun tier one there is a 20 round mag dont need the size of 17 grip most guys are swimming in it.double undercut apex trigger tti spring kit slr mag flare typed it with a green dot holosun and the night fison Costa for a lower 1/3 cowitness wicb is great used to have ameriglows and hated how much of the optic it was way to busy oh and the c&h plate glock perfection after those things. The trigger hits as crisp as a 1911 well close anyway and the gen 5 barrel is awesome taking 100 yard shots is a very real thing with gun that I enhanced I have a 19x but I did a slight grip chop and threw and magwell agency armes and now it's bad ass.good day to ya!

Why doesn’t your slide lock back after last round. That’s user error.

Honestly, how do you manage with a TLR 1? I use that for my home gun, not edc

I always loved the G19 but got rid of mine when this baby came out. Best pistol glock made

Everyone states that the 45 balance and shootability is better than the gen 5 19. If you can get a full purchase on a 19, with a 17 rd mag, wouldn't it essentially be identical from the balance and shootability perspective? But the 19 would give you the ability to carry 15 rd mags to better conceal or as large of a mag as you can conceal.
