    Messiah of Mopar.. Resurrecting dreams! Living Legend of "CAN DO". I have learned more from Mark Worman about Mopars than any other place and I been wrenching my whole life.. Unmatched attention to detail. The whole crew at GYC is outstanding! I don't trust anyone with my ride.. I would trust you.

    It's crazy what so many of the different Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars go for these days. The stars truly aligned to create big auction price tags. A lot of people complain about it as unhinged but it really isn't when you think about how we got here. In the 1960s and early '70s the world of Automobiles was very different than today. For the last few years the Dodge Challenger and RAM trucks sell in huge numbers vs the past, selling in numbers that match and occasionally exceed cross town rivals at Ford and Chevrolet. This creates an illusion of sale/ production number equality between Detroit's 3 biggest manufactures that certainly was not the case back in the day. Anyone old enough to remember the heady days of the Muscle Car and Pony cars. In 1971, when this super rare Hemi Cuda was built, GM sold 45% of all the new cars on the road that year, Ford sold 26% of them, Chrysler came in at very distant 3rd place at 13%. Yes, there were some imports VW owned 5% of the market which explains our memories of so very many Beatles out there on the road. Toyota was around but at just 2% of the market you'd never have guessed how very big they'd be here in 21st century. All that said though. If you ever wondered why most old MOPAR cars sell for bigger numbers than most Chevy or Ford cars.......the explanation is easily found in the much smaller number of cars built and still with us today from Chrysler. Rare and ICONIC is the combination brings big price tags. BOSS 429 Mustangs, L88 Corvettes, ZL1 Camaros, Convertible Trans Ams bring huge numbers too but today you can still find a decent '69 Mustang or Camaro of lesser lineage for reasonable $. That's not nearly as easy to say about a '70 Barracuda. Even the pedestrian model 318 cars get a few extra bucks bid on 'em when in great shape. Probably because building a "clone" is the only way to truly have a Hemi "cuda you could drive today ......the real deal Hemi Cuda is usually an investment to be socked away as investment vehicle when it's as good as the car in this video.

    Its amazing to think that the modern Mopar's put these to shame performance and horsepower wise like the Demon 170. We are talking 1025hp and 945 torque on E85 and 900 hp on pump gas!

    MARK- love your work & shaker dancing! The catalog build looks awesome- what if you put lasers, mounted to your frame jig. To help you line up all your upper sheat metal? A & B pillars, firewall, etc. Also probably can use different laser colors to keep the confusion down, in close measuring points 👉

    Cars are pretty subjective when when it comes to “setting the bar that’ll probably never be met” Buick grand national, the s10 syclone and typhoon… v6 turbo that would give peak muscle cars run for their money. it usually takes 20-30 years for people to gain appreciation for the special ones. Today’s cars, track hawks,zr1 camaro, procharched 5.0s…all these crazy new cars will be on shows like this in 30-40 years being talked about the same way. Wrap your head around that

    MARK! SO MUCH BETTER! The steering, control arms and sub frame is 1000 times beter to handle the 426 ci power. The steel is Soooo much better on the frame & panels. Although this is NOT 100% OEM, it will last a whole lot longer.

    Ah, at the very last he mentioned the VIN, can’t have those here in Ga. now, for a “kit” car the state has too many refs to make it worth it including having to inspect the build as it progressed. Don’t know if doing a detailed video would count for that inspection part

  • @BaronVonSketchy

    They won't tell you the cost of the parts because it will cost a lot less then they will charge you for the complete car. If you can build it yourself, you will save huge dollars plus you're not bound by rules because the car is not an original Cuda. I'm currently 6 mos working on a 68 barracuda just about every piece of interior and exterior metal is being replaced. All panels are paid for some panels won't be in until end of March The overall cost is not as much as you might think very doable.

    I've been pricing out a 69 charger the body alone if you do all the work to build the new body would be about 20k. Still need a hemi motor transmission ect that could be 60k -30k I can do the paint my self so that's about 2500 for me interior glass weather stripping say 10k. So starting out 65k and up from there depending how fancy you wanna get with it.

    Attention to details is what makes it. But im torn. I know that these cars were not produced in masses. And the parts are almost non existent. But to build a car from a catalog, make be think the valaue of the car is not the same as an original. I understand that there is no other choice.

    I fully understand day one mods but then why stop at wheels why not day one engine mods interior mods etc, if you had 2 identical cars at Mcacn etc and the only difference was one had non factory wheels it would make a difference to the judges , look i understand its only my opinion and the owner has every right to do what he likes , but to go 99% factory is stranger to me than only going 80% but no offence its still a beautiful car.

  • @PiDsPagePrototypes
    @PiDsPagePrototypes4 ай бұрын

    Assembly line markings,... Seems redundant, on a clone with Rack n Pinion 'front steer',... No real MoPar lover would put the steering in front of the axle line where it's never going to get true Akerman Geometry. Front Steer is just a recipe for GM level Understeer. Being able to build from catalog, without destroying an original, lets customers have a lot more freedom - car that looks like a '71, but with current running gear - Gen3 Crate Hemi, Hurricane 6, or even the new EV drivetrains, that's cool.

    Those Cragar wheels belong on a derelict 1980 chevy camaro POS not a Hemi Cuda. Couldn't you get the factory wheels? Why the Hell are you guys putting assembly line witness marks on a car that is nowhere near original?? Did the original car have a huge ugly sticker on the frame that said Magnum Force Race products??LOL! Did the originals have poly bushings sticking out at you like a sore thumb?? What are you guys doing over there? Also, "audience of thousands"???? Looked like there were a couple hundred people there not paying attention to you guys at all. I like your channel but guys cut the BS! Also you mean to tell us it's MORE expensive to build a catalogue car from BRAND NEW PARTS than a restoration?? Stop the BS!
