It appears this video has been getting some traction recently! 😁 Thank you all for your support and suggestions. Even though the Kickstarter was not successfully funded, I'm happy to say we're still hard at work bringing this product to life, and are currently developing a new and improved design that will not only be cheaper, but also have an adjustable base! If you'd like to stay up to date on the project, join our Discord server here: discord.gg/Yaeys6fdCj and/or join our email waitlist over on encasepc.com -Luke

We'll be focused on the US market at launch, but plan to expand to other regions if things go well. That's not to say we couldn't ship to Europe at launch (or anywhere else in the world) but we won't have any fulfillment centers outside of the US, so shipping would be insane - like $400-$700 USD. @@CptnBalu

This desk looks awesome! The only issue i have is for those of us that have multiple monitors or 1 very large monitor and the inability to mount them. Many monitor feet look so tacky and take up a lot of real estate especially when using more than one. Looks like the tray for cables and things in the back would hinder clamps style mounts and the desk itself doesnt seem like one you would want to drill through for mounts that use that method. But overall, very neat!

@@dale7561 I think cable management should stay in the back, but if the tray opened in multiple pieces, it would make clamping onto the back easier! This would be less aesthetically pleasing though... or as OP said, a hole in the desk, or even propietary mounting system would solve this.

Or strategically placed pass through holes for through-desk type mounts. Covers for the holes that don't look awful (hopefully hides them) for those that decide not to use them or a different top with the holes you'd choose when you order. This without legs so I can add motorized ones may temp me to buy, though I currently have a huge monitor mounted to the wall behind my desk.

Even for video and photo editing, apple media and graphics engines that are specifically designed for this kind of stuff are unrivalled.. its why most of the industry are on Mac. People look at music and video producers as posers because they use Mac's, but theres so many more benefits to it.. I also much prefer the mac for everyday use because MacOS is so fluid and simple and easy to use, and is also blisteringly fast on load times.. But when it comes to gaming, nothing beats a gaming PC.

I should also mention that Apple design their own hardware and software, completely. Everything is made to work together, and its why it works so perfectly. You see a lot of issues with PC's because its all kinds of different brands and chipsets and hardware working together, and sometimes it does work, sometimes it doesn't.

Nice work guys, some awesome ideas here! I think some rubber grommets (or chamfers) on hard edges to protect cables should be a consideration (ie the holes in the legs and the 90 degree channel into the rear of the desk). Possibly in the future an installable shroud to direct the air from the underside exhausts (either to the right, or the rear of the desk) away from the user. It could slide into place like the motherboard tray. Is there scope for deeper/wider trays for those who wish to build custom watercooling loops? Either way, fantastic work - keep it up!

Here are a few things that would make this a slam dunk in my eyes: - Size options (48", 60", 72"?) - Some kind of solution for monitor arms/VESA mounts - Ditch unnecessary bells and whistles that will eventually become obsolete (e.g. wireless charger; this desk will dramatically outlive the current Qi standard) - Sub-$1000 USD Personally, I'm just looking for a rock solid, versatile, reasonably priced desk PC. I believe in the vision!

Hi, thanks for the feedback. 1. We can do both 60" and 72" but most likely only 60" will be available at launch. 2. The new design (see pinned comment) will support monitor arms. 3. In the new design, the charger is easily swappable, so there shouldn't be any issues with upgrades in the future. 4. Sub $1000 would be tough, but not impossible.

@@encasepci built a prototype out of wood with ikea legs. Doing the math on parts and labor the costs were $240 and shipping was another $200 if I was going to sell it.

Perfect! Decades ago, when Home PCs were really very new, I had a dream. I would invent a PC where all the modules were plugged into an office desk. To upgrade your storage, just lift the lid unplug one and plug in another. Then I woke up. But here it is.... my dreamed of invention!!! Will it take off?

This is awesome and given the niche business pricing is not bad.

its not priced, look at those prices for their pc parts 1.8k for a 4070 and a 13700kf is way expensive.
